***FOR THOSE WHO FOLLOW UNWRITTEN RULES,PLEASE EXCUSE THE CAPS,IM NOT 1 TO FOLLOW SOMETHING I WASNT TAUGHT IN COLLEGE.I PLAYED BALL FOR 12YRS.WHEN MY PLAYER GOT HIT,I DIDNT RETALIATE BY HITTING THEIR PLAYER.I WENT FOR THE STRIKEOUT,OR MAKE HIM LOOK SILLY  STRIKING OUT.NOT FOLLOW UNWRITTEN RULE OF WALKING HIM,GIVING A FREE BASE.FOR YOU SERIOUS BUYERS,I USE CAPS SO YOU CAN READ CLEARLY,AND IM NOT YELLING AS THOSE WHO HAVE THEIR MIND SO DEEP IN WORLDLY THINGS THINK SOMEONE USING CAPS IS YELLING.THATS A JOKE.,,IM JUST USING CAPITAL LETTERS BECUASE THATS HOW I WRITE ONLINE,THATS ALL..AND WILL CONTINUE TO DO SO UNTIL IT BECOMES NOT AVAILABLE TO DO ONLINE OR ILLEGAL.THATS..FAIR?NOW TO THE REAL DEAL,AND FORGET THE SILLY THINGS.THIS IS A VERY  RARE FIND.1 OWNER,A TRUE LOW MILEAGE 85 SS.WENT FROM ELDERLY FATHER TO ADULT SON,WHO IS NOW IN HIS 60'S WHEN I GOT IT FROM HIM..FATHER TOOK WELL CARE OF IT.SON USED IT AS A {OCCASIONAL}  SUMMER WEEKEND CAR.THATS ALL!PURCHASED NEW,THEN IN 1994 TITLE TRANSFERED TO SONS NAME ONLY.CARFAX HAS IT AS 1 OWNER,SO I ASSUME WHA HE TOLD ME IS TRUE THAT HIS FATHER AND HIM WERE ON THE TITLE THEN FATHER REMOVED.TITLE NOW IS FROM 1994.I HAVE THE COMPLETE "CLEAN 1 OWNER" CAR FAX.IM TRYNG TO COPY IT ON HERE SO YOU DONT HAVE TO BUY 1,OR EMAIL ME IN THE MEAN TIME ILL EMAIL YOU A COPY OF IT.ONLY THING IT SHOWS AS GREY IS A "NON-COLLISION ACCIDENT MINOR" IN 1990..OLD REGISTRATION AND NEW REGISTRATION FROM 94 HAVE SAME LAST NAME..CAR JUST SAT.HARDLY USED,TO START WITH.NEVER OWNED BY A YOUNG KID OR MUSCLE HEAD BEATING ON IT.HOW I FOUND IT-I HAVE A STORAGE SLOT FOR MY BOAT..I GO THERE ONCE IN A WHILE,WASH IT,CHARGE BATTERY,ETC..WAS THERE 1 MORNING WHEN THIS OLDER GENTLEMEN I NEVER SEEN OR KNEW HE HAD THE UNIT ACROSS FROM ME.MY BOAT IS IN THE OPEN STORAGE AREA.I JUST WALKED OVER THERE TO CHECK IT OUT,AND THE TALK TURNED INTO A DEAL WHEN HE TOLD ME HE WAS LOSING THE STORAGE AND DIDNT KNOW WHAT TO DO WITH THE CAR.HAD NO PLACE TO STORE IT,AND WAS PAYING ALOT TO KEEP IT THERE "INDOORS".WELL OF COURSE I JUMPED ON IT.AND LONG STORY SHORT,I BOUGHT IT..DIDNT DRIVE IT,START IT,NOTHING.1 LOOK AT IT,AND I WAS BUYING IT.WHAT GOT MY REAL ATTENTION IS WHEN I OPENED THE TRUNK TO FIND OIL,ANTI-FREEZE,ETC. FROM TRAK AUTO WICH WENT OUT OF BUISNESS IN THE 90'S.AND THE GLOVE BOX HAD THE MANUALS,RECEIPTS,AND POLLUTION TEST PAPERS WICH ALL VERIFIED WHAT I SEEN ON THE ODOMETER 49,270,.MILES WILL GO UP JUST A BIT AS THE CAR MIGHT GO FOR WASH,GAS,ETC...DUE TO SOME DISHONEST PEOPLE,IM NOT GUARANTEE'N THE MILES.PEOPLE COME UP WITH SOME SILLY SCAMS TO GET IT CHEAPER.BUT I HAVE THE PAPER WORK TO PROVE IT,.I KNOW THE CARS VALUE.IVE HAD PEOPLE LOOK AT IT FRONT TO BACK.BUT I GOT A DEAL,AND IM GIVING A DEALWHERE YOU GONNA FIND A LOW MILEAGE,NOT BEAT ON SS?THERES ALOT OF MONTE'S OUT THERE,SOME MINT,LOW MILES,BUT LOOK AT THEIR PRICES.AND HOW MANY HAVE ATLEAST,SOME DOCUMENTATION.U CANT FOOL THE STATE WHEN THEY PUT 35K IN 2002 ON THE POLLUTION TEST.IT WAS EXCEMPT AFTER THAT.OBD1."I HAVE THE 02 POLLUTION PASS RESULTS WITH MILES",AND 35,000 MILES FROM 1985 TO 2002,THEN ANOTHER 18,000 TIL 2014 ADDS UP..AND THE GUY WAS VERY HONEST. HE WASNT DRIVING IT IN THE 2000'S WITH THAT TRAK AUTO AND OLD EXTRA BELTS,ETC. IN THE TRUNK.THIS IS A FORGOTTEN STORAGE CAR.OWNER HAD DREAMS,AND THEN REALITY STRUCK.MY .INTENTION WASNT ON KEEPING IT.NOT INTO THESE TYPE OF CARS ANYMORE,BUT VERY FAMIIAR WITH IT AS I HAD A FEW,BUT WITH T-TOPS..I KNEW NOT JUST TO TRY TO CHARGE AND START IT..CHANGED THE OIL,FLUSHED THE GAS,ANTI-FREEZE,AND IT TURNED OUT TO NEED A FUEL PUMP.SO I STARTED TO GET IT GOIN.FULL TUNE-UP,WIRES,DISTRIB.,PLUGS NGK,ALL FLUIDS,SOME BRAKE LINES,CARB CLEANING,NEW SHOCKS,.IM SURE I DID MORE BUT THATS OFF THE TOP OF MY HEAD.BONUS ON THIS HE HAD AAMCO REBUILT THE TRANSMISSION HE SAID ABOUT 5 YRS AGO AROUND 2009 WHEN HE DID SOME KIND OF REGISTRATION RENEWAL,HE NOTICED A  TRANS ISSUE TOOK IT IN,HAD IT REBUILT..I SEEN THE PAPER WORK.HE PAID $1400.HE GAVE ME SOME PAPER WORK,BUT THINGS WITH HIS ADRESS,PRIVATE INFO HE KEPT..SHIFTS SMOOTH.I DID NEW EXHAUST WORK,,PARTIAL NOT FULL.DIDNT NEED NOTHING REALLY,JUST A SMALL SECTION..WAS VERY CLEAN UNDER THERE.DID HAVE SOME SURFACE RUST ON THE FRAME.NOTHING BREAKING,HOLES,ROTT.I UNDERCOATED IT.HAS DUALS FROM THE ENGINE,.CAR HAD ORIGINAL SS RIMS,WITH THE GOODYEAR EAGLE FACTORY STYLE TIRES.I DONT KNOW IF THEYRE ORIGINAL,THE TIRES,,BUT THEYRE LIKE BRAND NEW.LOOK LIKE THEY WERE PURCHASED YESTERDAY.NO DRY ROTT AT ALL.SO COULD BE NEW,OR MAYBE FROM STORAGE AND LOW USE?BODYWISE,DIDNT TOUCH IT.IM SURE IT WAS PAINTED IN THE PAST AS THE PINSTRIPES ARE GONE.BUT I HAVE THE DECALS AND PUT THEM ON AND PINSTRIPED IT.NOT PERFECT BUT MADE THE CAR 10X'S BETTER LOOKING.IF YOU DONT LIKE IT,THEY COME OFF AS EASY AS THEY WENT ON.I MESSED UP ON THE FRONT BUMPER.CHEVROLET LETTERS SUPPOSED TO BE BETWEEN STRIPES,ACCIDENTLY PUT IT ON TOP..VERY VERY MINOR RUST SPOTS.REAR BUMPER PADS WERE FLAKING,HAD THEM PAINTED AND CLEARED.FRONT BUMPER LIP PAINTED.JUST WAS FADED.UNDERBODY LOOKS GOOD.JUST THE DRIVERS FLOOR PANEL IS "PARTIALLY ROUGH"HAS A HOLE IN FLOOR PAN,NOT WHOLE THING..PASSENGER SIDE OK,.PRETTY SOLID CAR ALL THE WAY AROUND.BIG DIFFERENCE WITH NEW SHOCKS.NEXT,HAD IT DETAILED,SHAMPOO,BUFFED,POLISHED.HEADLINER IS THERE.NO RIPS.I FOUND IT ROLLED UP IN THE TRUNK,LOOKS LIE HE BOUGHT IT NEVER PUT IT ON.I DID MY BEST.NEEDS LITTLE ADHESIVE TOWARDS THE REAR.I DIDNT WANA GUE IT UP,AND RUIN IT.JUST IN THE REAR LITTLE SAG THAT CAN BE ADHESIVED.DOME LIGHT IS IN THE CAR,{NOT SHOWN IN PICS,FOUND UNDER SEAT AFTER DETAIL..SO AS I SAID,I HAVE POLLUTION PAPERS,LAST 1 I FOUND WAS 2002 AROUND 35,000 MILES ON IT.SO FROM 1985-2002 49,000 MILES PUT ON THE CAR.FROM AROUND MID 90'S TILL NOW ITS BEEN A STORAGE CAR.WITH OCCASIONAL DRIVES,POLLUTION TESTS,TRANS REBUILD,SOME MAINTENANCE..ALL THE STORIES CHECK OUT.I DO SEE CHROME VALVE COVERS,OTHER THEN THAT LOOKS STOCK.ONLY THING THAT HAS ME GOIN IS HE SAID ITS HE "THINKS" ITS A  350.TALKING TO HIM HE WAS NOT A CAR GUY.ENGINE LOOKS STOCK 305HO..I KNOW THEY DIDNT PUT 350'S IN THESE CARS.AND HE WASNT EVEN SURE.BUT ENGINE WAS NEVER CHANGED SO IF THATS THE CASE,ITS A 305HO.FAST.TIRES SCREAM.FULL POWER..AS YOU SEE IN THE PIC,INSIDE THE UNIT THERE WAS SOME CENTERLINE RIMS IN PLASTIC STILL.NEVER PUT ON THE CAR..I WANTED TO KEEP IT STOCK BUT THEY LOOK BETTER AND IM GIVING THEM TO NEW OWNER,.THEY ALSO LOOK VERY CLEAN,TIRES NICE,.BUT IM SURE THEY WERE USED AT SOME POINT?MAYBE..ALL I CAN SAY.SO WINNER GETS STOCK RIMS,AND THE NIC CLEAN CENTERLINES.THE STOCK TIRES ARE VERY WIDE.THE CENTERLINE RIMS HAVE WIDER BIGGER IN THE REAR,SMALLER IN FRONT.WITH LIKE NEW TIRES ON THEM.POWER WINDOWS WORK,LOCKS WORK..AT 1ST THEY DIDNT.LITTLE CLEANING UP,THEY STARTED TO WORK.SOMETIMES PASSENGER LOCK NEEDS 2 PUSHES TO GO UP AND DOWN.RIGHT NOW TEMP GUAGE NOT WORKING,AND IM WORKING ON THAT.I RAN THE CAR FOR HOURS.DROVE IT FEW TIMES.TITLE I HAVE IS A ILLINOIS TITLE FROM 1994,THE TIME HIS DAD PUT IT IN HIS NAME.SOME PAPER WORK,AND ALL THE OLD STUFF IN THE TRUNK,THE EXTRA RIMS-TIRES.THATS WHAT YOU GET.NOW IF RESERVE IS NOT MET,AND I HAVE TO LOWER PRICE,STOCK RIMS ARE COMING WITH THE CAR.RIGHT NOW CENTERLINES ARE ON IT.THAT WHAT I WAS TOLD THEY WERE.

2014 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra show all their sides in Detroit

Tue, 15 Jan 2013

There could hardly be more riding on the next-generation General Motors full-size pickup trucks, so the automaker has wisely made sure to have a selection of different models on hand at the Detroit Auto Show to show off. The 2014 Chevrolet Silverado and 2014 GMC Sierra were both officially introduced last month at a stand-alone reveal, and now they'll be on display for the public to see in various body configurations and trim levels.
The Silverado LTZ Crew Cab and Sierra SLE Extended Cab are aimed at providing more of a high-end pickup experience, while the Silverado LT Z71 Extended Cab and Sierra SLT Z71 Crew Cab should have off-road fans scouting out their favorite trails. The crew cab trucks won't go into production until sometime during the second quarter of this year - with other bodystyles coming later in the year - but we have plenty of live images from Detroit for you to enjoy.

Sunday Drive: Taking a gaze into the automotive crystal ball

Sun, Oct 22 2017

Mankind has long been fascinated by the future. So it makes sense that this past week's top stories were all about cars, trucks, and SUVs that won't be hitting the market until the 2019 model year. And right at the top of the list is the Ram 1500. We've come to know Ram as the truck maker that styles its pickups with cues cribbed from big rigs, but that look has slowly evolved over time into something uniquely its own. The next Ram 1500 continues this trend, with a newly refined look that we can't wait to see in person. Up next is the 2019 Chevy Silverado. Pickup trucks have been, continue to be, and will remain the best-selling vehicles in America. And General Motors is a leader in the field, with two distinct offerings with which to entice buyers, one from the bread-and-butter Chevrolet brand and one wearing the slightly more upscale GMC badge. The Chevy looks to get LED lighting elements for 2019, which ought to keep the truck from looking dated when compared to the Ford F-150 and the previously mentioned Ram 1500. From there we move past pickup trucks and into SUVs and sedans. The 2019 Jeep Cherokee looks to get toned down a bit with its next refresh, and the '19 BMW 3 Series continues its slow evolutionary journey at the top of its aspirational sales pedestal. Finally, spy shots give way to official production reveals for the 2019 Audi A7 and Polestar 1. This pair of European luxury cars won't compete with one another – one is a rakish hatchback and the other a sports coupe – any further than for the eyeballs of our readers, but both proved popular enough to merit inclusion in our weekly roundup. As always, tune in to Autoblog next week for a front-row seat to all the happenings worth following in the automotive industry. 2019 Ram 1500 spotted without the classic crosshairs 2019 Chevy Silverado spied with new LED accents 2019 Jeep Cherokee reveals a much more normal face 2019 BMW 3 Series spy shots reveal production lights, new interior details 2019 Audi A7 revealed: More torque, refined styling Polestar 1 First Look | The 600 horsepower hybrid Scandinavian Green Audi BMW Chevrolet Jeep RAM Volvo Truck Hatchback SUV Future Vehicles Hybrid Luxury Performance Sedan sunday drive polestar 1

2023 Grand National Roadster Show Mega Photo Gallery | Hot rod heaven

Wed, Feb 8 2023

POMONA, Calif. — From an outsider's perspective, it would be easy to assume that the Grand National Roadster Show has always been a Southern California institution. After all, it celebrates the diverse postwar car culture of the region — hot rods, lead sleds, lowriders, and more. However, the show had its roots in NorCal in 1950 when Al Slonaker and his hot rod club showed their custom cars at the Oakland Expo. The GNRS moved to Pomona, California, in 2004. By then it had grown exponentially and seen about a dozen more car customization trends come and go. However, the show and its centerpiece award, the America's Most Beautiful Roadster prize, celebrate what is perhaps the first of those trends: the American hot rod in its purest form. Today, in its 73rd year, the GNRS is the oldest indoor car show in America. Annually it welcomes 500-800 cars, gathered into special themes like Tri-Five Chevys or Volkswagen Bugs. At this year's show, which was last weekend, a special hall was dedicated to pickup trucks built between 1948-98, including mini-trucks, groovy camper bed conversions, and resto-mods.  However, of all the vehicles presented, only nine are eligible for the America's Most Beautiful Roadster award. Winners get their names engraved on a 9-foot-tall perpetual trophy that was, according to The Ultimate Hot Rod Dictionary, the largest in the world when it debuted in 1950. Slonaker chose the word "roadster" initially because "hot rod" bore slightly negative outlaw connotations in 1950. Only American cars built before 1937 of certain body styles — roadsters, roadster pickups, phaetons, touring cars — are eligible, and they cannot have roll-down side windows.  Cars in the running for the cup cannot have been shown anywhere else before their debut at the GNRS.  Contestants for this accolade essentially build their cars to the a platonic ideal of a hot rod. This year the honors went to Jack Chisenhall of San Antonio, Texas, for his "Champ Deuce," a 1932 Ford Roadster. It's exactly what you picture when you think of a hot rod, but distilled to its absolute essence.  Other standouts included "Green Eyes," a two-tone green 1959 Chevy El Camino  with a heavily metal-flaked bed, "Blue Monday," a 1964 Buick Riviera lowrider, and a personal favorite, "Purple Reign," a purple and black 1951 Mercury. Cars may have started out as tools, but there aren't shows like this filled with custom refrigerators.
