The monte is going to need some work if you want to make it street legal again would make great race car!
The car has a v8 350 and turbo 350 transmission from a trans am was told the motor was rebuilt dont know if its true or not.  Has a 4 barrel holley carb i have the chrome air cleaner cover its in back seat of car.  Car last ran in Dec 2012 before I went on vacation we got snow and i parked it in the shed and its sat there since I went to start it recently its not wanting to start not getting power to starter or ignition not sure which so it will need fixedNormally can pump gas twice turn key and it starts right up.  The rear frame is excellent shape in the car normally thats what goes in these.  the front passenger frame by tire needs a small patch might cost $100 to get done should be easy fix woulnt even need to take tire off to fix.  The car has no exhaust only headers.  There is an aftermarket oil pressure gauge inside the car the plastic line leaks oil when the car is running needs fixed its the only oil leak in the car that i know of.  The tires are dry rotted will hold air if pump them up currently flat i can pump them up to help assist in loading.  The car has air shocks in the back.  There are another set of shocks new in trunk and few other parts also cant remember what all though i know there are some chrome trim pieces.  the dash front bezel is apart due to old owner was going to change dash gauges to adjust for the linkage cause the selector doesnt read correctly for the trans.  the car has no knocks or ticks when its running but will need a qt of oil before its started again due to the oil pressure gauge oil leak.  there are no inner fenders in the car.  The heater core was also removed and firewall patched The brakes were all good except back drivers side brake pressure line is leaking when u push brake will need fixed.  Please see pictures of the car any questions or if you would like to come look at the car please call or text 585 307 0557 car is for sale locally also.  Car is located in allegany ny 14706  I tried to describe the car best i can if you questions please call!

OnStar to offer 90-day driving assessment, possible insurance discount

Wed, Jan 7 2015

General Motors has announced a brace of new features for OnStar, two of which could help you save money assuming you're willing to sign over some (more) personal details. The first is a driving assessment program in which OnStar takes note of certain driving parameters for 90 days, then provides the driver feedback on their driving, both individually and when compared to other drivers in the program, as well as driving tips. Think of it as OnStar's ICE version of the Nissan Leaf's CARWING feature that compares how efficient your electric driving is compared to other BEV drivers. In this case, though, certain drivers will have the chance to share their assessment with Progressive Insurance, and if the numbers are right they might get a "driving-based" discount from the insurance company. The assessment program is voluntary, and requires opting in. It will be available this summer on all new GM cars and some GM vehicles back to 2013. In case this sounds like Big Brother, let's not forget that Big Brother is already here and moved in so long ago that he's a member of the Kiwanis club and is hosting neighborhood block parties. Progressive already has a million enrollees in a program called Snapshot that tracks OBD II data to offer usage-based insurance to provide annual pricing based on how much you drive your car, with discounts of up to 30 percent. The OnStar effort is just another way to do that. The second feature is proximity offers through AtYourService, which notifies drivers to deals and information on their driving route and provides coupons from RetailMeNot and Entertainment Book. Beyond that, a deal with Priceline will let OnStar agents book hotels for you starting this year, there's a tie-in with Dunkin' Donuts, too, but we're fuzzy on those benefits, and third new feature lets Chevrolet owners know when certain parts need replacing. 2015 Chevy Tahoe gets Police Patrol Vehicle treatment

Thu, 07 Nov 2013

That was fast. Mere days after showing a Police Concept based on the 2015 Tahoe at the SEMA Show, Chevrolet has announced that it will build a PPV model based on the SUV to do battle with the Ford Police Interceptor Utility (Explorer) and Dodge Durango Special Service.
You'll recall that the Tahoe has been police staple for several years, predating both the Explorer and Durango police variants, so the fact that the new model would spawn a police variant is hardly surprising. Like the civilian model, the 2015 PPV benefits from a more efficient 5.3-liter, direct-injection V8 that pumps out 355 horsepower and 383 pound-feet of torque. It also features more high-strength steel, offering better crash protection, on top of optional safety items like lane departure warning, forward collision alert and a Safety Alert Seat.
The press release is rather light on police-specific items, aside from the auxiliary battery, which keeps the myriad of electronics in a modern police car running even when the engine isn't. Lightbars, 17-inch steel wheels on Goodyear Eagle RS-A tires and a push bar round out the mods for the Tahoe PPV. The cabin features a revised center console and room for laptop and other equipment mounts.

Crash victim found still inside car 6 hours after it was towed away [w/video]

Wed, Jan 7 2015

Police near Dayton, OH, have quite a confusing case on their hands after the victim of a crash early on New Year's Day couldn't initially be found. Six hours later, the man was discovered lying on the vehicle's floorboard at the tow yard. The unidentified person was admitted to a local hospital in critical condition with possible leg injuries. The police first responded to the scene of the crash around 3:00 am on New Year's Day when a Chevrolet Impala hit a utility pole and drove through a fence, according to WHIO News. The authorities claim that they searched for the man for an hour and a half and came up with nothing. The car was then hauled away to the yard, which was only about 500 feet away. The tow yard worker found the man around 9:00 am and called 911. However, he was clearly dubious about the injured man's predicament and suggested to the operator that he might have returned to the Impala. Police are still investigating the incident. According to WHIO, authorities might have somehow missed the man in the sedan during the search. Alternatively, he could have left the scene of the accident and later returned. Watch the video below for more about this bizarre case. The video meant to be presented here is no longer available. Sorry for the inconvenience.
