I HAVE FOR SALE AN INCREDIBLE, WELL KEPT, ORIGINAL MILEAGE, CLASIC BIG BODY MONTY CARLO. THE CAR HAS ITS ORIGINAL 5.0 LTR V8 AND TRANSMISSION. I RECENTLY HAD ALL THE GASKETS AND SEALS REPLACED. THE CAR DOES NOT HAVE ANY LEAKS OR DRIPS. THE VALVE COVERS WERE DRIED OUT AND THE MAIN SEAL WAS SEAPING FROM A LACK OF USE, SO I HAD THEM REPLACED. THE CAR CRANKS, SHIFTS AND DRIVES AS IT SHOULD. THE A/C, HEAT, AND STEREO ALL WORK PERFECTLY. THE TIRES ARE IN VERY GOOD SHAPE AND I HAD THEM ROTATED RECENTLY. THE CAR HOLDS A STRAIGHT LINE ON THE HIGHWAY AND I ALSO REPLACED THE MISSING CENTER CAP ON THE RALLYE WHEEL THATS MISSING IN ONE OF THE PHOTOS. APPARENTLY SOMEONE WANTED THE OTHER ONE I HAD WORSE THAN ME ! THE BODY LINES ARE GREAT, THE BIG SWOOPING FRONT FENDERS LOOK INCREDIBLE. THE GAPS ON THE BODY LINE UP EXTREMELY WELL AND IT HAS ITS ORIGINAL PAINT WITH NO SIGNS OF HAVING ANY BODY WORK EVER. THE CAR HAS ONLY A SMALL AMOUNT OF SURFACE RUST UNDERNEATH WITH EXCELLENT FLOOR, AND TRUNK PANS. NO BODY WORK NEEDED ON THIS ONE ! THE ONLY EXCEPTION IS A COUPLE OF SMALL DINGS BY THE DOOR LOCK YOU CAN SEE IN THE PHOTOS. I BELIEVE YOU COULD HAVE IT FIXED WITH PAINTLESS DENT REPAIR. THE INTERIOR IS ORIGINAL AND LOOKS VERY, VERY GOOD. THE ONLY IMPROVEMENTS TO THE INSIDE WOULD BE THE DASH PAD, IT IS CRACKED. AND PERHAPS THE CARPET, ITS NOT TORN BUT IT DOES SHOW LITTLE WEAR ON IT. OTHER THAN THAT THE SEATS, HEADLINER AND ALL TRIM LOOK GREAT. THE GAUGES ALL WORK. IT IS A LANDAU COUPE, WHICH CAME WITH THE TOP AS WELL AS THE BACK GLASS THAT CAME TO A POINT IN THE REAR. ITS A GREAT CAR THAT GETS A LOT OF LOOKS AND IM SELLING IT CHEAP. I LOVE OLD CARS AND I HAVE MORE THAN I NEED LAYING AROUND THE HOUSE. These are the 'Greenest' and 'Meanest' cars in 2015
Fri, Feb 6 2015As has become tradition, the American Council for an Energy-Efficient Economy (ACEEE) has come up with a ranking of what it refers to as the "greenest" cars of 2015, and, by way of contrast, a list of the so-called "meanest" cars, so those who value eco-friendliness over all else can choose which vehicles they should or should not consider buying. As you may expect, electric cars make up the majority of the greenest cars on the list, but, perhaps surprisingly to many, the Tesla Model S didn't make the cut. It's worth noting, too, that where the electricity an owner uses to charge their electric vehicle has a big impact on its overall environmental impact. "A car that is charged using electricity generated from natural gas or renewables is going to have significantly less impact on the environment than one charged on a coal-heavy grid," says ACEEE lead vehicle analyst Shruti Vaidyanathan. The ACEEE's list for 2015 looks very different than it did in 2014. It's an interesting collection, though – and we're sure this goes without saying, really – we'd recommend doing a bit more research into each vehicle and how it might fit into your daily life before making any purchase decisions. GM might outsource vans to AM General
Thu, Nov 26 2015General Motors will possibly boost production of the Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon at the Wentzville Assembly Plant in Missouri by contracting out some commercial van manufacturing to AM General. Demand for the two midsize trucks continues to boom, and GM would like to take advantage of the strong market for them. The possible deal came to light in a letter to workers at the factory, according to Automotive News. "This potential partnership would free up production capacity and allow the organization to capitalize on our ability to build midsize trucks to further satisfy customer demand," a portion of the document allegedly said. AM General would reportedly only take over assembly of the cutaway versions of the Chevy Express and GMC Savana. Customers and critics have quickly embraced the latest Colorado and Canyon since their introduction. The Chevy just won back-to-back Motor Trend Truck of the Year awards. GM also had to add a third shift and extra workers in 2014 just to keep up with demand. The Wentzville plant even increased employment on the weekends earlier in 2015 to assemble an extra 2,000 of the trucks each month. While the two pickups boom, deliveries for the Chevy Express and GMC Savana are down 26.9 percent and 26.6 percent respectively through the first 10 months of the year. GM doesn't break out numbers for the cutaway versions, but they make up about a third of production, according to Automotive News. AM General built the Humvee for the US military and does some contract work with automakers. For example, the company's Indiana factory now produces the Mercedes-Benz R-Class for export to China. GM adds 1,200 jobs at Detroit-Hamtramck plant
Thu, Oct 22 2015General Motors is making a big move at its Hamtramck, MI, factory, announcing it will add a second shift and hire over 1,200 workers within the next several months. It's expected that by early 2016, the factory will employ over 2,800 workers to build the Chevrolet Volt, Impala, Malibu, Cadillac ELR, and by early next year, the new CT6. According to GM Hamtramck spokesperson Courtney Zemke, 40 of the 1,200 positions are for salaried employees, while the remainder will be hourly positions. As for where these employees will go, positions are being made available across the factory, so GM isn't focusing on any particular area for its new hires. It's a similar story behind the hiring surge itself. GM said in its press release that the "second shift is necessary to meet forecasted market demand," a position Zemke reiterated. It's a matter of demand across the plant's portfolio, rather than any one particular product seriously outstripping supply. Naturally, the United Auto Workers is happy with the move. "The workforce at Detroit-Hamtramck is second to none," UAW Local 22 Shop Chairman Don LaForest said in the attached release. "We appreciate the opportunity to expand our UAW-GM family." Hiring is going on now, with the second shift slated to get underway in early 2016. Second shift hiring is underway, and the shift is scheduled to begin operations in early 2016. "The workforce at Detroit-Hamtramck is second to none," said UAW Local 22 Shop Chairman Don LaForest. "We appreciate the opportunity to expand our UAW-GM family." The 4.1 million-square-foot Detroit-Hamtramck Assembly opened in 1985. GM has invested $1 billion in the plant over the last six years, making it one of the company's most-agile manufacturing facilities in North America.
