I have a very beautiful 1965 Malibu SS convertible, A true SS convertible 13867 vin with a NN paint code. This car was repainted about 20 years ago but has been garaged for 15 years. This car is super clean and very sound although it is not a resto but a true survivor that had been well taken care of. It is a 283, the powerglide has been replaced with a TH350 other than that this car is very original and sought after. I have seen clones selling for 27-29K. It has the de-ice bottle under the hood, factory power brakes, factory power steering it has the original bumper jack with the jacking instructions under the lid of the trunk. It currently rides on 14" Rallies I do have the original wheels and SS hubcaps. This car runs and drives like a dream with no leaks or mechanical issues, the brakes work excellant for being 4 wheel drum all of the lights and blinkers work as well as all of the guages, the original am radio still works and the radio light works of course the clock looks awsome but is forever stuck at midnight or noon whichever you choose. I have the original owners manual and protecto-plate. Everything about this car is great, but as always it is being sold as is with no warranty expressed or implied and all sales are final with no returns or refunds. Rest assured this car will get everyone you come in contact with wanting to talk about it. Bid with confidence this car will only go up in value. You can call me @ 925-382-5078 to discuss details or email me through ebay.I have lots of pictures.Just for the record this car was born in Fremont Ca. and has never left the bay area, I am the 3rd owner.I also have the original black and yellow plates. buyer is responsible for shipping

Mother's Day Suggestion No. 2,506

Thu, 02 May 2013

With Mother's Day coming up, we're always looking for new gift ideas to celebrate the occasion, but hot laps around a track might not be the best suggestion for Darius Khashabi. In a video posted on YouTube, Khashabi straps his mom into the passenger seat of his C6 Corvette Z06 for some laps around Sonoma Raceway (formerly Infineon Raceway) at "60 percent" with comical results.
Now this isn't the first time Mama Khashabi has gotten seat time in her son's car around a track, as his YouTube page shows him pulling a similar stunt - with similar results - around Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca last year. Scroll down for the video, but know that the action really gets going at around the 1:40 mark.

Why the Corvette is Chevrolet's billion-dollar baby

Thu, 28 Feb 2013

Edmunds has worked up a piece that tries to figure out just how much the global Chevrolet Corvette economy is worth, a spitballed guesstimate putting the number at more than $2.5 billion with the proviso that the number is probably low. It starts by taking Corvette's new car sales of 14,132 units last year, which would equate to $714,725,900 (including destination) assuming ever car sold was a base coupe with no options. In the final tally, a little extra padding gets that number up to $750,000,000.
But that's not all. Consider this: Many of the almost 1.4 million Corvettes produced over the model's history are still on the road. There are new parts being produced and aftermarket companies like Mid-America Motorworks deaing business, that single Illinois company doing more than $40 million a year in sales. There are the Corvette events large and small, restorers who do nothing but Corvettes, salvage yards that deal only in used Corvette parts and the Corvette magazines where owners find all this stuff.
And then there are the Corvette-themed tchotchkes, every single one of which provides a tiny contribution to the huge licensing royalties that General Motors collects every year. The article admits there's no way to come to an accurate number, but it just goes to show how valuable one specific model can be to a company.
