First let me begin by saying if you have any questions at all please ask before you bid. Don't bid if you don't have the money to buy it. This is a used car so it is in used condition it comes with No Warranty. I am a mechanic and can tell you this vehicle is mechanically sound. If you need a good driver for a low dollar amount this would be that car. The body of the car has 228272 miles at the time of this listing the engine only has an est 75000 due to it being replaced after the first one let go. This 1999 Malibu has been in our family since it was bough new. Lets start with the good Newer tires (less than 6000 miles) Newer Exhaust Brakes and Wheel bearings last spring. Power windows, Cruise, Stereo, Power seat, all work fine. Car runs and drives nicely for a car of its age. The Bad. Rusty on both rear quarter panels. A/C needs a recharge worked earlier this summer but takes a can of freon each year. Headliner is sagging/dirty/tear in rear. Interior/carpet is worn and has some stains. (lots of kids hauled in this car). Driver seat has very small split where it hinges on the back other than that no rips or holes. outside has scratches some dings but no major body damage anywhere besides the rust on the quarters. Missing one center cap for the wheels (cosmetic only). Car is for sale locally so I have the right to end the auction early. I will not ship or haul you must pick up. Car must be picked up and paid in full no more than 5 days after auction ends. |

2014 Chevrolet Corvette C7 Convertible offers a few more views before reveal
Mon, 04 Mar 2013Over the weekend, Chevrolet released its first images of the new 2014 Corvette Stingray Convertible. Now, ahead of the droptop's official introduction tomorrow at the Geneva Motor Show, the automaker has given us a few more shots of the softop C7 showing off the car's rump albeit from a high, strategically positioned angle.
From this angle, it's hard to get a sense for how long and flat the decklid really is, but we can easily see that, like the rest of the C7's design, the new convertible's decklid and tonneau cover are far more detailed than the current car. We also get a better look at the rear haunches sans brake vents, which have apparently been moved to underneath the car in order to accommodate the top's hard cover.
As for the overall styling of the C7 convertible, with the top erected, we get some idea of what a coupe design (as opposed to the Stingray's fastback shape) would look like on this car. The C5 Corvette most recently had a coupe model that did away with the large glass hatchback, and we recently reported on a low-cost "coupe" model potentially being added to the C7's repertoire.
Automakers score 8 out of top 20 most-watched ads on YouTube [w/videos]
Fri, 14 Dec 2012Who would have ever thought there'd be a day where people are able to skip television commercials only to go to websites to watch them later? Such is the joy of a DVR and YouTube. AdWeek tabulated the 20 most-watched ads on YouTube, and found that nine were car-related including eight coming from automakers.
Volkswagen continued its Star Wars theme with two ads in the top 20, including the highest-ranking car commercial The Bark Side spot at number three with almost 18 million views, which doesn't even have a single car in it. Some of our favorites are from Chrysler with Clint Eastwood in It's Halftime in America and House Arrest with Charlie Sheen for the Fiat 500 Abarth. Chevrolet, Honda, Audi and Toyota were the other automakers in the top 20, but we'd be remiss if we didn't at least mention one of the coolest ads on the list, the Hot Wheels corkscrew jump.
Of all the car videos, only the Fiat ad wasn't played during a Super Bowl. Check out all eight videos - in order - after the jump. Nike took the top spot with its My Time is Now ad that has been seen online more than 20 million times with Pepsi's Uncle Drew posted up in the runner-up; some of the other videos include four Old Spice commercials and an ad in which Snoop Dogg is pedaling Hot Pockets.
Chevy Bolt, GM's 200-mile EV, could debut in Detroit
Sat, Jan 10 2015It's not news that General Motors is working on a $30,000 electric vehicle with a 200-mile range. Then-CEO Dan Akerson said as much back in 2013. What we've heard before is that this mystery EV will be based on the Chevrolet Sonic and will will arrive in 2017. So, if that's all correct, then it would make sense that confirmation of this plan would come at the 2015 Detroit Auto Show, which is just around the corner. And lookee here... The Wall Street Journal is reporting that GM will unveil a concept Chevy Bolt at the Detroit show on Monday. That name sure makes sense, too, since GM registered that trademark back in August. According to the Journal, the rumored numbers – 200-mile range, $30,000 price – are still what's expected. Some new purported details are that the battery will come from LG Chem, which also makes the Volt's batteries, and that the Bolt will be a crossover that could be sold around the world. This all smacks of a preemptive strike against the Tesla Model 3, which is also due around 2017. Currently, GM sells the Spark EV in limited areas of the US, despite a lot of excitement for wider availability. To sell a 200-mile EV for $30,000 means that GM and LG Chem will likely have drastically reduced the cost of making a big plug-in vehicle battery. What this means for the new Volt and GM's future plans is something we're more than a little excited about to learn more of on Monday, the same day that we get to see the redesigned Chevy Volt for the first time.
