THIS CHEVELLE IS A RUNNING DRIVING SOLID SOUTHERN ALABAMA CAR, 12 BOLT REAR END, MOTOR RUNS GOOD.NO SMOKE OR KNOCK. I THINK TRANS MAY LEAK A LITTLE NOT BAD IT SHIFTS GREAT. I STARTED ON IT 3.5 YR AGO. IT HAS NOT BEEN ON THE ROAD MUCH IN A FEW YEARS ALTHOUGH I PUT 40 MILES ON IT TODAY PICKING IT UP FROM BODY SHOP. CAR HAS BEEN STORED FOR 3 PLUS YEARS WAITING ON PAINT JOB TO BE FINISHED. ONLY REASON IM SELLING IS SO I CAN FINISH MY 69 R/T CHARGER. I HAVE OVER 13K IN CAR AS IT SITS. IT WAS ONLY TO BE PAINTED WITH A NEW ROOF SKIN DUE TO VINAL TOP RUST .NEW SS HOOD, ONE NEW FRONT FENDER. CAR IS A SS CLONE ORIGINAL 350/350 AUTO CAR. STILL HAS A/C COMPRESSOR STILL INTACT. ORIGINAL SINGLE EXHAUST. I HAVE NEW COMPLETE DOOR PANELS FRONT AND REAR, ALL NEW WEATHER STRIPPING, PARTIALLY INSTALLED. Texas sues GM, saying it tricked customers into sharing driving data sold to insurers
Wed, Aug 14 2024Texas filed a lawsuit Tuesday against GM over years of alleged abuse of customers' data and trust. New car owners were presented with a "confusing and highly misleading" process that was implied to be for their safety, but "was no more than a deceptively designed sales flow" that surrendered their data for GM to sell. The suit contends that at no point was selling driving data ever even suggested as a possibility, putting GM in violation of the state's consumer protection laws. Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton is seeking a jury trial and at least $10,000 per offense (every GM car sold in the state since 2015) and a hefty add-on of $250,000 in cases where the victim was over 65. Texas seems to be flying high after a recent $1.4 billion settlement from Meta over other privacy concerns. This may well be a way to solve any pending budgetary issues in the Lone Star State.
Burt Reynolds' vehicles up for auction at Barrett-Jackson
Tue, Sep 25 2018Burt Reynolds' influence on car culture cannot be overstated. Be it "Smokey and the Bandit" or "Cannonball Run," his films inspired a generation of car enthusiasts. He died a few weeks back from cardiac arrest at age 82. This weekend, four vehicles from Reynolds' personal collection — three Pontiacs and a Chevy — will go up for auction at Barrett-Jackson in Las Vegas. It seems Reynolds had plans to sell the cars before he passed. He even filmed a short teaser for the auction and planned to attend the event himself. Three of the cars are Pontiac Trans Ams. Two are re-creations of the cars he drove in "Bandit" and the film "Hooper." Both are 1978 models. The third Trans Am is from 1984 and was used to promote Reynolds' USFL team, the Tampa Bay Bandits. The fourth vehicle is a 1978 Chevy R30 pickup truck. It's styled like the truck he drove in "Cannonball Run." None of the vehicles were actually used in the movies. But they were registered in his name, making them far more legitimate than some other movie-inspired clones. It's unclear how many Bandit Trans Ams Reynolds has owned over the years. Another car connected to him sold for $450,000 back in 2014. His death is sure to drive the price of these new cars even higher. Chevy Chaparral 2X Vision Gran Turismo concept blends the past and the future
Wed, 19 Nov 2014The Chevrolet Chaparral 2X Vision Gran Turismo is the rare concept car that salutes a seminal moment in history, yet also borders on science fiction.
Revealed Wednesday at the Los Angeles Auto Show, the concept uses the name of one of Chevy's historic racing partnerships, with Chaparral Racing, which dates to the 1960s. Chaparrals raced successfully at a range of levels, including IndyCar, Trans-Am and SCCA competition.
But the history ends there, as the concept's main purpose is as a racecar in a downloadable update for the PlayStation 3 game Gran Turismo 6.
