1967 Chevrolet Chevelle Malibu:
Built in Lodi, Caifornia and was a California and Arizona car from 1967-2009. Last purchased in 2009 with 92K miles on it from S. Fegan at Hot Rods and Classics in Tuscon, AZ. This was his personal car for many years. Since then the Malibu has traveled 9K miles in 5 summers. It has done several car cruises, runs to countless kids sports games, and 3 trips to Washington DC to Michigan. Since 2009, all work has been performed by George Reggio at Maryland Performance Center and All Speed Customs in Muskegon, Mi. No Short Cuts!!! 101,000 miles One repaint original color over 10 years ago, still looks great Car is a 136 VIN. Originally a 283 with power glide. VIN 136177Z131317 Clear Title. No rust, no accidents, no replacement panels. Only non-OG body part is an all steel 2" cowl hood. Current engine is a stock GM Crate Motor ZZ454 aluminum head. Edlebroick intake, Demon Carb, headers, high flow air filter. Tremec TKO 500, 5-speed Transmission with 68% overdrive (2009) Car does 17 MPG on highway and cruises effortlessly 12-bolt rear end, rebuilt. New 3.73 gears. New u-joints, custom driveshaft. Full new Ram clutch installed at the same time (2009). Front Disc brakes, SSB, new booster, new lines. Rear Drum 2.5" exhaust with flow master 40's and exit at rear. New Flaming River progressive steering box. Frontend alignment 2013. All panels fit, good gaps, doors close effortlessly and solid. Interior is the stock color turquoise with all-new Year One dash panels/instruments for the manuyal transmission (no gear indicators), full console, clock, and stock shifter welded to Tremec shifter below the boot, Seats, carpet, headliner, dash and rear tray all in excellent condition. All interior panel lights work at night, courtesy lights come on when you open the door. Locks and keys all work as they should. Stereo with concealed head unit in glove box, professionally installed, receipts over $3,000.00. JL Audio 500 Watt, 5-channel amp and custom dual 10" subwoofers in trunk enclosure. Boston Acoustic 6.25" drivers in custom door enclosures with Boston Acoustic 6x9 rear fill. iPod jack under the drivers seat control volume and playlist discretely. Car starts, runs and drives excellent. Brand new battery and oil change May 2014. Needs nothing. Drives straight. Turn key and enjoy. Automakers score 8 out of top 20 most-watched ads on YouTube [w/videos]
Fri, 14 Dec 2012Who would have ever thought there'd be a day where people are able to skip television commercials only to go to websites to watch them later? Such is the joy of a DVR and YouTube. AdWeek tabulated the 20 most-watched ads on YouTube, and found that nine were car-related including eight coming from automakers.
Volkswagen continued its Star Wars theme with two ads in the top 20, including the highest-ranking car commercial The Bark Side spot at number three with almost 18 million views, which doesn't even have a single car in it. Some of our favorites are from Chrysler with Clint Eastwood in It's Halftime in America and House Arrest with Charlie Sheen for the Fiat 500 Abarth. Chevrolet, Honda, Audi and Toyota were the other automakers in the top 20, but we'd be remiss if we didn't at least mention one of the coolest ads on the list, the Hot Wheels corkscrew jump.
Of all the car videos, only the Fiat ad wasn't played during a Super Bowl. Check out all eight videos - in order - after the jump. Nike took the top spot with its My Time is Now ad that has been seen online more than 20 million times with Pepsi's Uncle Drew posted up in the runner-up; some of the other videos include four Old Spice commercials and an ad in which Snoop Dogg is pedaling Hot Pockets.
Ford Police Interceptors dominate Michigan State Police testing
Tue, Nov 1 2016Once again, Ford Motor Company builds the fastest police vehicles. The Blue Oval touted the news in an official release following Michigan State Police and Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department testing. Ford did very well. Except for one acceleration metric – zero to 10 miles per hour – the Blue Oval's Taurus and Explorer-based cop cars were the quickest, with particular praise coming for the EcoBoost-powered models, which bested Chevrolet and Dodge's V8-powered variants. Dearborn's products also posted the fastest average times around MSP's vehicle dynamics course. But it wasn't all positive for Ford. The only four-cylinder in the contest, the 2.0-liter, EcoBoost Ford SSP Sedan, had both the lowest top speed, 120 mph, and the slowest acceleration figures. It was also the slowest in track testing. Ford's products also failed to match the braking and top speeds of its rivals from Detroit and Auburn Hills – the rear-drive Charger Pursuit posted the best braking stats of the entire test, while the V8-powered Chevrolet Caprice hit the highest top speed, at 155 mph. Ford did score a top speed award, among SUVs, but at 132 mph, the naturally aspirated Police Interceptor Utility had to share its award with the equally fast, rear-drive Chevrolet Tahoe. The LA County Sheriff's timing isn't publicly available, but according to Ford, the EcoBoost-powered police cars put on a similarly impressive show for cops on the West Coast. The 2014 Chevrolet SS sedan is for drivers who value performance above all else
Sat, 16 Feb 2013The car you see above is the 2014 Chevrolet SS, and it's important both because it is the first rear-wheel-drive performance sedan from Chevy in 17 years, and because it will be the nameplate the brand uses on NASCAR tracks all across the country starting this year.
Though it wears a name as American as baseball and apple pie, the machine was actually designed and built in Australia, sharing most of its parts with the brand-new VF-model Holden Commodore. That said, the basic chassis bits are shared with other Chevrolet models like the Camaro and Caprice Police Patrol Vehicle.
While Chevrolet is happy to sell a Malibu or Impala to anyone looking for a mainstream family sedan, but the SS is reserved for buyers interested first and foremost in performance. Most sedans sold these days are front-wheel drive, which is great for everyday driving and when the weather goes bad, but the SS is instead a rear-wheel-drive vehicle aimed at enthusiasts who love to drive and who prefer speed and performance above all else.
