Car Needs to put on a Dyno to tune engine and reach true HP potential. Stereo screams and so does the exhaust system. This car is a real head turner and fun to drive. Its got a lot of power, even with all the weight of dynamat, full stereo system an air compressor and tank I can still chirp 2nd gear.

This beautiful 1964 Chevy Impala SS is a frame off resteration that has modern intergrated technology.  The car was oringally purchased as a fun project car. Extreme motor car out of Tampa ,FL preformed the resteration to completion.  AS you can see from the list above his car is jam packed with high quality parts.  As a fun everyday driver, the 400 hp LS1 motor with the T56-6 speed transmission has plenty of power.  The 6-way air ride gives a comfortable ride. With all that power you need a way to stop, so we added a wildwood brake booster and Baer 2 pot caliper with over sized drilled and slotted rotors up front and in back. A custom 500 hp rated drive shaft is connected to the Ford 9-inch rear end with a 3.93 gear. Custom ceramic coated headers that run to mangaflow mufflers. Inside there is a 3 tone interior, a Dakota digital dash with blue led display, a 7 inch alpine touch screen head unit. Custom center console with a wood grain (Laminated wood). 2 sets of 6.5 inch mb quart components and 2x6 inch JL audio w3 v2 subs, 2 JL audio w6 v2 12’’ subs  in  a custom box. 4 matching Alpine amps powers its all up (2-1000x1, 1- 300x2 1- 600x4). There is a 5 gallon air tank and dual compressors for air ride. 1967 corvette handles are molded to give the shaved handle appearance. All molding shaved and holes welded shut. The interior was wrapped in dynamat from the floor to celing. The frame was painted with POR-15 for a extra long life. The Budnick wheels match the steering wheel. The wheels are 18x8 with a 225/40/18 goodyear eagle F1. The rear is a 18x10 with a goodyear eagle F1 275/35/18. Tires are in 90% condition.  New fuel cell , after market headlight with 8k hid. 1 small rust blister developing on the paint on the driverside side skirt.

The drivers seat vinyl is starting to wrinkle and seperate.

The cosmetic pieces of the stereo in the trunk have been removed. Florida heat and humidity were not kind to them. This area has been stripped bare with only thr structural wood of the box for the subs and amps left. You can customize this area however you like to give it your own personal touch.

Should heavy-duty pickup trucks have window stickers with fuel mileage estimates?

Sat, Sep 23 2017

If you were to stroll into your nearest Chevrolet, Ford, GMC, Nissan, or Ram dealership, you'd find a bunch of pickup trucks. Most of those would have proper window stickers labeled with things like base prices, options prices, location of manufacture, and, crucially, fuel economy estimates. But you'd also run across a number of heavy-duty trucks with no such fuel mileage data from the Environmental Protection Agency. The EPA doesn't require automakers to publish the valuable miles-per-gallon measurement for vehicles with gross weight ratings that exceed 8,500 pounds. That makes it difficult for consumers to compare behemoths powered by turbocharged diesel engines – between one another, and between smaller, gasoline-fueled trucks. Consumer Reports doesn't think it should be this way, and it's spearheading an effort (PDF link) to get the government to require manufacturers to publish fuel economy estimates. In its own testing, CR found that heavy-duty pickups powered by Ford's Power Stroke, GM's Duramax, and FCA's Cummins diesel engines (which doesn't include the Ram's EcoDiesel) get worse fuel mileage than their lighter-duty gas-powered siblings. We're not so sure HD-truck buyers are unaware of this fact – big diesels don't really come into their own until big loads are placed in their beds or attached to their trailer hitches. Under heavy workloads, the diesel trucks will almost certainly return greater efficiency than a similar gas-powered truck. What's more, HD trucks with lumbering diesels in general make the driver feel more confident while towing due to greater torque at low engine RPM than gas trucks. They also offer greater max-weight limits. Still, we agree EPA fuel mileage estimates should be offered for heavy-duty pickups. And we think the comparisons provided by Consumer Reports might be interesting to potential buyers. Click here to see the results of CR's tests, and let us know what you think using the poll below. What car should James Robertson buy to drive his famous 21-mile commute?

Thu, Feb 5 2015

The Internet has been abuzz this week with the story of Detroit resident James Robertson, the 56-year-old factory worker who has walked some 21 miles to work for the last 10 years. The Detroit Free Press brought Robertson's story to the fore, helping an online fundraising campaign to generate more than $275,000 (as of this writing). The original goal was just $5,000, or about enough to replace the used Honda that died on Robertson back in 2005, and left him walking. So, newly flush with funds, what's the perfect car for Robertson to buy? Let's look at the specifics of his situation, and try to pick out the best options. Here's what we know: Robertson's commute is (famously) 21 miles; he lives in downtown Detroit (for now) and seems pretty humble, so something very flashy is probably out; former Honda aside, his ties to the city (and statements about being a Ford fan) seem to indicate a Detroit Three company product is best; he's a single guy with a girlfriend; he's got to deal with Michigan weather, and the sometimes fickle snow removal processes in The D. Here are some choices: Ford F-150 Robertson is on record as being a Taurus fan, and after a decade of walking I've no doubt that the big sedan would offer a cozy respite. Still, as a car guy and a student of the industry, I'd have a hard time recommending a sedan so clearly in need of replacement. Especially when The Blue Oval has such great stuff within the rest of its roster. The 2015 F-150 seems almost perfect for Robertson. Opting for either of the new EcoBoost V6 engines should help keep fuel bills in reasonable check, while healthy ride height and four-wheel drive will get him to work on time even during the snowiest of snow days. Better still, with a fat options sheet and car-like ride quality, Robertson can have just about every amenity he might want, in a package that won't disrespect his blue-collar roots. Chevrolet Colorado You guys saw this one coming, right? The smaller footprint of the midsize Chevy pickup, relative to some of the other options here, should be an advantage for urban parking and driving. And again, 4x4 is an option for the nasty weather, the running costs should stay pretty low and there aren't many tech/luxury features that can't be had in-cabin. I'd go ahead and splash out on the Crew Cab bodystyle, too, just in case Robertson feels like starting a carpool.

Chevy Cruze CNG available from Crazy Diamond Performance

Thu, Aug 7 2014

Anyone out there who can somehow find a second way to link Pink Floyd to natural gas vehicles gets a prize. Because so far, we have one Michigan-based company called Crazy Diamond Performance (Shine On You Crazy Diamond being a longtime Floyd fave) that's setting out to convert Chevrolet Cruze vehicles to run on compressed natural gas (CNG). All in the name of cheaper fuel and domestic security, of course. Crazy Diamond says it can offer a converted CNG-powered Chevy Cruze for a price as low as $26,000. That four-cylinder version has 130 horsepower and an 8.5-gasoline-gallon-equivalent capacity that provides a full-tank range of as many as 250 miles. Pony up another $2,000 or so and the peppier, turbocharged CNG Cruze can be yours. The company says it will provide a 100,000-mile powertrain warranty and is trying to get EPA certification for its conversions. The selling points are cheaper fuel (CNG is about half the cost of regular gasoline in some parts of the country) and homeland security (CNG reduces dependence on foreign oil). The only production passenger vehicle CNG in the US is the Honda Civic CNG, which sells in very limited numbers. Check out Crazy Diamond's flyer here.
