I have for sale my 1964 Impala, I have owned this car for 18 years and very sadly to say now it is time for a new chapter. Over the last year I have made some major upgrades but never added any miles Such as a complete rebuilt from top to bottom 383 Stroker (400 crank/350 block) only 30 mins of break in run time. Stock 350 heads that were reworked. The car has Hugger headers. 1406 edelbrock carb/ edelbrock intake. I Added a 2004r overdrive trans from a Monte Carlo (CZ label code) and a Monster trans lock up manual switch. Front disk brakes from (CPP), I also have a brand new brake booster I can add with the sale of the car. I have removed the mechanical fan and added an electric fan with relays (car runs cool). I had interior redone some years back. The car has brand new starter, flywheel, transmission cross member, and rebuilt drive shaft. I added seat belts in the front and back. I have removed bumpers to do body work so I do have bumpers. The painting is 10 yrs old and was the next thing to be done after finished body work. I have 95% of the exterior trim. I have the original 14 inch hub caps, fan shroud, radiator fan, extra brand new lower trunk pan, and the aluminum power glide transmission that I also once had rebuilt some years ago. I will include all of these items with the sale of the car. through out the years I rebuilt the front end tie rod ends, Pit-man arm, power steering, rear shocks etc. The fuel sending unit were replaced so fuel hand works great, I have also added after market gauges. All door weather seals are new including trunk and rear windshield. I feel like I am leaving some things out but a lot things have been added. You are responsible for shipping as I am unfamiliar with the detail in shipping a car but I will assist anyway I can.  Low Reserve based on the money I have spent which I know I will never get back.

This 450-hp electric Lotus Evora is powered by Tesla and Chevrolet

Tue, May 9 2017

When someone mentions an electric Lotus, the first thing that comes to mind is the Tesla Roadster, the California-based automaker's first vehicle. That car started life as an Elise before being heavily massaged and adapted by Tesla's engineers. In a similar spirit, the people at Onpoint Dyno are close to finishing Blue Lightning, a track-ready all-electric Lotus Evora. Blue Lightning uses a Tesla drive unit and a Chevrolet Volt battery pack, both mounted in the middle in place of the Evora's 3.5-liter Toyota V6. It's putting down about 450 horsepower at the wheels. The car was built for time attack sessions, so power is fed through custom forged wheels and super sticky Pirelli PZero Trofeo R tires, the same ones found on the last Chevrolet Camaro Z/28. There is a custom digital instrument cluster in place of the Lotus gauges. There's also a regen paddle on the left side of the steering wheel. With a full charge, Blue Lighting should go about 120 miles. While the car runs under its own power, it's only about 90 percent complete. It has no power steering, no firewall in between the seats and the motor and battery pack, no A/C, and a large hole where the shift lever used to be. Other final touches include fine-tuning the brakes and suspension. There is also a custom rear bumper coming that should make it look more like the new Lotus Evora 400. Onpoint Dyno expects the car to hit the track in the next month or so. Related Video:

Why the Corvette's Performance Data Recorder can be illegal in some states

Fri, 26 Sep 2014

The Performance Data Recorder with Valet Mode available on the 2015 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray seems like a fantastic tool for many owners. Whether they are taking 720p video while lapping the track in their new 'Vette, or just want to protect their purchase from inconsiderate joyriders, the system offers a lot of functionality in one package. However, one of the PDR's features might get buyers in trouble with the law, and it has nothing to do with recording some illicit high-speed driving on a favorite back road. The problem hinges on the various state laws concerning a person's right to privacy.
According to a letter posted by Jalopnik, Chevy dealers are asking 2015 Corvette owners not to use the Valet Mode portion of the PDR because it records audio in the cabin, in addition to performance specs. That's a problem because privacy laws vary from state to state with some requiring just one side's consent to tape sound and others requiring all parties to agree. According Jalopnik, 15 states mandate everyone's permission beforehand, but it's not clear whether these numbers are up to date. (Actually, the report varies, saying 13 states in some places and 15 in a list.)
According to the letter, Chevy is already working on a software update for the near future to rectify the issue. It's possible that simply adding a warning to drivers and the ability to turn off the audio recording function in Valet Mode might solve the problem. Obviously, this doesn't preclude Corvette drivers from using the performance aspect of the PDR, and owners are free tape lap after lap at the track.
