Hi,
Up for sale is my 2002 Chevy Impala. It has a 3.4L motor. The car has 148k miles on it, and are going up because it is my daily driver. It has been meticulously maintained ever since I have owned it. Body is in good condition with some mild scratches and dings. Silver paint is holding up well. All lights work well. Cruise control and A/c work well too. so does power steering. Car handles well with new tires and all the suspension upgrades listed below. It is really good on long trips, but also gets decent mileage for its size compared to other cars in its class.

In the last year:
new head gaskets and lower intake manifold gaskets (common problem most 3.4L will have) (performed by M-40 Auto)
a/c recharged
New brake pads and rotors all around
new air filter
new fuel filter
new pcv valve
exhaust leaks fixed
new front wheel bearings (Timken brand - premium quality with 3 yr warranty)
new tires all around
new front control arms (which means new bushings and ball joints)
new outer tie rod ends
new front sway bar end links
new rear sway bar end links
New Monroe Strut assemblies all around!
new spark plugs (these last 100k miles) and wires
new transmission filter and fluid
coolant flush and fill
new windshield wiper blades
new cabin air filter

Extras!
Overkill 3400 PCM tune - (tuned computer for better performance and gas mileage; comes with documentation)
Added transmission cooler for better cooling performance and longer transmission life
LED dome light

negatives:
rear defrost does not work
fan setting 1 does not work all the time (I have the part to fix it but have not installed it)

Any questions? want to see it? contact me! we can talk about the price too! This car will last you a long time; don't pass it up.

Tarantino's stolen Chevy Malibu from Pulp Fiction recovered after 19 years [w/video]

Mon, 29 Apr 2013

Quentin Tarantino fans will likely remember Vincent Vega's cherry 1964 Chevrolet Malibu Convertible in Pulp Fiction. In a movie drenched in automotive references, the Malibu is very nearly a character in and of itself, and it serves as the subject of Vega's soliloquy about the kind of man who vandalizes another's automobile. It also happened to be Tarantino's personal car when the film was shot, and was apparently stolen shortly after production wrapped. Now police have located the car some 19 years later.
As it turns out, the thieves cloned the vehicle identification number from another '64 Malibu and had the car registered under the new digits. It was then sold to an unsuspecting buyer. Police happened upon the duplicate VINs while investigating another potential theft. Right now, it's unclear whether Tarantino has taken possession of the Chevrolet, if it has remained in the possession of the fraud victim, or whether it's caught somewhere in the gears of justice. Either way, you can catch Vega's memorable thoughts on the car keying in the Pulp Fiction clip below. But consider yourself warned: the video contains explicit language as Not Safe For Work as it comes.

Why does the Corvette Stingray have so many vents? Here's why

Sun, 27 Jan 2013

Just looking at the new 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray, it's not hard to see that the car's design was created with aerodynamics at the forefront, but Chevrolet designers point out exactly what went into designing the iconic coupe in a pair of recently released videos. The videos show the Corvette going through early design phases, including clay models and wind tunnel tests, as well as talking to the car's chief engineer, Tadge Juechter.
Both videos help explain various aspects of the C7 Corvette, but it's the aero tuning of the car that is most interesting. This includes extra attention paid to the lower air dam and vented hood to help reduce drag and lift, while the rear quarter inlets are for differential and transmission cooling. Juechter said that some of these aero-tuned elements were inspired from GM's involvement in racing.
If you have about five minutes and you can't get enough information about the new 'Vette, then check out the videos posted below.

Survey says $25k barrier is a problem for EVs

Sun, 01 Dec 2013

The majority of consumers are more or less priced out of the market.
Electric cars are gaining popularity with the general public, but are they still too expensive? According to a survey 1,084 consumers by Navigant Research, a consulting firm located in Boulder, CO, 71 percent want their next car to cost under $25,000, while 41 percent won't go a cent above $20K. Looks like people are even thriftier than we'd originally thought.
