Up for grabs is a 68 chevy fastback I had aquired and thought I would have the time to finish the car,I dont have time, so it is time I free up the garage space and let someone else put her back on the road. She is a 2 door hardtop with a fairly straight rust free body with solid floors for the most part, the paint job is driver quality, the jams are all painted too. The paint has never been buffed, which if it did, it would shine real nice. It's not perfect but very presentable. The bumpers, grille and chrome is descent for a driver but all would need rechromed for show. The interior is mostly there, parts in the trunk as well, some pieces may be missing but cant be to much. It needs a windshield and rear glass. The car had door handles and trunk cylinder customized and shaved from previous owner. The chassis needs detailed and painted. Will need brake job. It comes with a 350 motor and automatic trans both of which i've never used, so dont know their conditions. This is a roller, it does not run. The mags give it a good look , and tires look good but you would want to replace eventually. I am selling this car on a bill of sale.I took the car in on trade and I never got a title with it.That means I do not have a title, just selling on a bill of sale only! The car has the vin and trim tags intact. Down payment of $500 needs to be deposited in my paypal account within 48 hours of auction ending, and the remaining balance must be paid off within 7 days for full payment. I accept Cash, Cashiers Check or Money Order which needs to clear through bank before car leaves. After paid in full, the car must be picked up within 25 days of auction ending, unless otherwise negotiated before auction ends. Put your bid in today because this car is going to sell for way less than its worth, and it wont take much time and effort to have her back on the road and cruising in style! Please no NON PAYING BIDDERS, I dont have time to relist this car! I want to sell it one time. Thanks, Any questions, or in need of more pics, feel free to message me, leave me your phone number if you would like me to call you. Thanks, Tom

Survey says $25k barrier is a problem for EVs
Sun, 01 Dec 2013
The majority of consumers are more or less priced out of the market.
Electric cars are gaining popularity with the general public, but are they still too expensive? According to a survey 1,084 consumers by Navigant Research, a consulting firm located in Boulder, CO, 71 percent want their next car to cost under $25,000, while 41 percent won't go a cent above $20K. Looks like people are even thriftier than we'd originally thought.
GM, UAW poaching Nissan workers in Tennessee
Tue, Sep 8 2015General Motors and the United Auto Workers are going on a recruitment drive at the Spring Hill factory in Tennessee, and they're hoping to poach some skilled workers from Nissan's nearby plant in Smyrna, TN. The General and the union even bought a billboard advertising for industrial electricians near the Japanese automaker's facility, according to the Daily News Journal. The reason for the billboard was simple. "GM was short of electricians," said Tim Stannard, the president of the UAW local at Spring Hill, to the Daily News Journal. The factory currently builds the Chevrolet Equinox but has a contract to assemble the next generation of Ecotec engines and the Cadillac XT5, which replaces the SRX. Thanks to the $185-million deal, employment there is expected to double by May 2016, according to Stannard, with roughly 1,800 additional union jobs. Beyond just several billboards, GM has job postings online for the Spring Hill plant looking for workers with specific skills. There has already been some interest in the positions among Nissan employees, Stannard indicated. According to a recent study by the Center for Automotive Research, the average GM worker currently makes $58 an hour, including benefits. Comparatively, Nissan pays an average of $42 an hour with benefits. The General's number could change in the coming weeks because its contract with the UAW is about to expire, and higher wages are among the major negotiating points.
GM announces 3 new recalls affecting 1.7M vehicles in North America [w/video]
Mon, Mar 17 2014Still embroiled in the ongoing ignition switch recall, General Motors announced today three more discrete recalls, affecting a grand total of 1,546,900 vehicles in the US. The Detroit News reports that some 1.7 million vehicles are affected overall in North America. The first and largest of the trio of new recalls concerns some 1.18-million Buick Enclave and GMC Acadia crossovers from the 2008-2013 model years, Chevrolet Traverse from 2009-2013 (pictured above) and Saturn Outlook vehicles from 2008-2010. All of the crossover utilities may have an issue with the wiring harness for their seat-mounted side airbags. Apparently, the vehicles are equipped with a Service Air Bag warning light that, if ignored, "will eventually result in the non-deployment of the side impact restraints." Those restraints include the side airbags, a front-center airbag if the vehicle is so equipped and seatbelt pretensioners. Dealers of affected vehicles will be instructed to remove driver and passenger side airbag wiring harness connectors, and then "splice and solder the wires together." The second recall affects 303,000 Chevrolet Express (pictured right) and GMC Savana vans from model years 2009-2014, and with gross vehicle weights under 10,000 pounds. Said vehicles do not comply with a head impact requirement for unrestrained occupants, and will need a reworking of the instrument panel material to be sent back on the road. It doesn't sound as though there's a quick fix for this one, as the GM press release states: "Unsold vehicles have been placed on a stop delivery until development of the solution has been completed and parts are available." Finally, the third recall affects 63,900 Cadillac XTS luxury sedans from model years 2013 and 2014. A brake booster pump may be susceptible to corrosion by way of the relay, potentially causing and electrical short, overheating, melting of plastic components and even engine fires. GM says it is aware of two engine fires in unsold XTS models and two cases of melted parts. Repairs for the issues affecting the XTS have not not mentioned by GM in the release. The Detroit News is also reporting that along with news of the triple-recall, GM is taking a $300-million credit to help pay for the repair costs, and to deal with the ongoing costs associated with the ignition switch recall. In an attempt to explain just what GM has been doing in the face of these very serious issues, newly minted CEO Mary Barra has addressed the issues in a new video.
