THIS IS A VERY SOLID 1965 REAL SUPER SPORT PROJECT

This is a 100% real super sport V8 1965 Chevy Impala, true VIN # 166 S.S. V8 car.  The car was built the 4th week of January 1965 so this could have been a 409 car or a 396 car ??? Since the end of January to the beginning of February 1965 was the transition period of the end of the 409 and the beginning of the 396.  Build the car how you want and no one would ever know.

There is NO engine or transmission with the car now, it was gone way before I got the car, it is a factory power brake and power steering car.  The odometer reads 90,118 which by the condition of the car I would believe it to be original?  The car has no seats but is a factory bucket seat, console and floor shift car.

The glass in the car is in real good shape, the chrome around all the windows on the car is in real good shape, the door handles are real good, the back bumper is real good, the front bumper has some surface rust on it, the grill is only driver quality, there is no tail lights.  The dash in the car is in real nice shape and has not been cut or hacked up and has the factory radio (the dash pad is cracked)  Has the original front seat belts.

The body on this car is as close to rust free as you will ever find.  The inner and outer rockers, the inner and outer quarters and wheel tubs, the trunk floor, rear seat floor and driver side floor boards are all rust free.  I cleaned them out and put the car up on the lift and I can NOT find ANY rust anywhere in those areas.  The passenger side front floor has a few pin holes starting, NOTHING that requires replacing the floor pan or anything like that.  A 1" x 1" patch and a 1/2" x 1/2" patch will fix it real easy.  That is the only rust I can see in the car from the top or bottom.

The car just has light surface rust from sitting in a barn for so long is all, nothing major at all.  Starting with a car this solid will save you thousands of dollars $$$ and hundreds of hours verses starting with a rusted out car that needs panel replacement.  This car would take a lot of money nor time to the right person to be on the road and show ready.

It would be very difficult if not imposable to find any project this solid let alone a 100% real super sport factory V8 bucket seat console car.

I have a clean and clear title in hand.  I also have a shipper that I have used 18 times in the last 7 years that is licensed and insured so I can arrange reasonable shipping to your door anywhere in the 48 states (at your cost of course)

What you see is what you get, the car is sold as is.  If you have any questions or would like to come look at the car feel free to ask.  Thank you

Some 2012-13 Chevy Volts may not have enough battery coolant

Mon, Jun 23 2014

The 2012 and 2013 model year Chevrolet Volt extended-range plug-in vehicle may have a battery glitch caused by low coolant levels. No recall has been issued and General Motors is taking care of the issue at no cost to drivers. Some of the affected Volts may have lower-than-advisable coolant levels because of some pesky air pockets in the car's cooling circuit. When the coolant levels get too low, the charging system for the battery powering the car's onboard generator (i.e. the Rechargeable Energy Storage System, or the RESS) may be shut down, turning one's Volt into a run-of-the-mill gas-powered car, and a pricey one at that. The Car Connection says GM is advising owners of the '12 and '13 Volts to contact their local Chevy dealer for a free fix. GM representatives didn't immediately respond to a request for comment from AutoblogGreen for more details. We believe this is a separate issue than the one that brought 8,000 Volts back to the dealers for a battery coolant fix, what GM called a "voluntary customer satisfaction effort," a few years ago. General Motors sold 23,094 Chevy Volts last year after selling 23,461 Volts in 2012, so that fix-it list may get fairly lengthy. Check out a GM-Volt.com user thread related to this issue here. *UPDATE: Chevrolet spokesman Randy Fox confirmed in an e-mail to AutoblogGreen that the company issued a service bulletin to dealers that they may need to top off coolant levels on certain Volts because of the issue, and that the vehicle will "return to normal charging operation" once that's done.

AWD turbodiesel Equinox, Terrain dropped for 2020

Thu, May 2 2019

Citing low demand, General Motors is dropping the AWD diesel options off the Chevrolet Equinox and GMC Terrain roster. Chevrolet spokesman Kevin Kelly confirmed to CarsDirect that for 2020, the diesel versions of these SUVs will only be offered with front-wheel-drive. CarsDirect notes that with the AWD diesel Equinox and Terrain gone, the only AWD diesel option in this class is the Mazda CX-5 Skyactiv diesel, which is significantly more expensive: As the AWD diesel CX-5 is only available in a fully loaded Signature specification, the $42,045 price tag is almost $10k heftier than the cheapest comparable Equinox, the AWD 1.6-liter diesel LT which starts from $32,495. The 2019 GMC Terrain AWD SLE costs $34,795 in comparison, which works out to being around $7,200 cheaper than the Mazda. The higher trim levels for the Equinox and Terrain are Premier and SLT, respectively. Some reasoning behind the AWD diesel GM SUV's low uptake is their own price difference to base FWD gasoline models: you can get a 1.5-liter Equinox for less than §25,000 listed. While the 2.2-liter Mazda has plenty more power at 168 hp and 290 lb-ft, compared to 137hp and 240 lb-ft in the 1.6-liter GM SUVs, the Equinox and Terrain are notably more frugal – they are rated 32mpg combined, while the Mazda can manage 28 mpg. With better fuel economy and a significantly lower list price, the General Motors twins are at least more wallet-friendly when it comes to numbers, and as the vehicles will cease to be built in that configuration there's likely to be some cash on the hood on ones in stock. The USPS needs 180,000 new delivery vehicles, automakers gearing up to bid

Wed, Feb 18 2015

Winning the New York City Taxi of Tomorrow tender was a huge prize for Nissan, even though the company is still working through the process of claiming its prize. The United States Postal Service has begun the process to take bids for a new delivery vehicle to replace the all-too-familiar Grumman Long Life Vehicle, and that will be a much larger plum for the automaker who wins it, perhaps worth more than six billion dollars. The Grumman LLV is an aluminum body covering a Chevrolet S-10 pickup chassis and General Motors' Iron Duke four-cylinder engine. The USPS bought them from 1987 to 1994, and the 163,000 of them still in service are a monumental drain on postal resources: they get roughly ten miles to the gallon instead of the quoted 16 mpg, drink up more than $530 million in fuel each year, and their constant repair needs like the balky sliding door and leaky windshields have led the service to increase the annual maintenance budget from $100 million to $500 million. A seat belt is about as modern as it gets for safety technology, and the USPS says that assuming things stay the same, it can't afford to run them beyond 2017. Last year it put out two triage requests for proposals seeking 10,000 new chassis and drivetrains for the Grumman and 10,000 new vehicles. The LLV is also too small for the modern mail system in which package delivery is growing and letter delivery is declining. The service says it doesn't have a fixed idea of the ideal "next-generation delivery vehicles," but it listed a number of requirements in its initial request and is open to any proposal. Carriers have some suggestions, though, saying they want better cupholders, sun visors that they can stuff letters behind, a driver's compartment free of slits that can swallow mail, and a backup camera. The request for information sent to automakers pegs the tender at 180,000 vehicles that would cost between $25,000 and $35,000 apiece, and it will hold a conference on February 18 to answer questions about the contract. GM is the only domestic maker to avow an interest, while Ford and Fiat-Chrysler have remained cagey. Yet with a possible $6.3 billion up for grabs and some new vans for sale that would be advertised on every block in the country, we have a feeling everyone will be listening closely come February 18. We also have a feeling the LeMons series is going to be flooded with Grummans come 2017. News Source: Wall Street Journal, Automotive News - sub.
