This is a 1965 Chevrolet Impala (not an SS) posted for sale by owner. It DOES NOT have the original interior I think the previous owner put an interior from an 80 something olsmobile in it. It has a strong running 283 V8 but im not sure if it's numbers matching. CAR RUNS AND DRIVES I DROVE IT OVER 150 MILES BACK HOME WHEN I PURCHASED SO TRANSPORTING SHOULDN'T BE A PROBLEM

Brief Car History
I purchased the car in early 2012 from a guy who had this car along with a 65 impala convertible and he pretty much used this as a parts car. Im not sure as to whether or not he has interchanged any parts/engines but im certain that it was a parts car when I purchased it. Since then I had it put in the bodyshop to remove and repair all rusted areas although I HAVEN"T REDONE THE TRUNK YET BUT IT"S STILL PRETTY SOLID. What the car needs is an exhaust as 1 of the mufflers of the dual exhaust is missing. You could replace it altogether or just replace the muffler. The ignition has been replaced too along with a new starter I put on last month. I misplaced the original key as thats th. ONLY reason I had to replace the ignition. Car has never been stolen or vandelized since I've owned it. You will need a new ignition bezzle as the original one has many dings and scratches. Front bumper is a little bit loose just 2 screws that need to be tightened. I have a majority of the car's trim inside the trunk I am not sure if it is every single piece.Haven't had time to invest in it due to full time college and real estate, so heres your chance to capitalize on this great opportunity.

In another year and a half (2015) this car will 50 years old and will be considered an "antique" car which will boost its market value signifigantly higher than a "classic" car.
This car is still in primer to this day and is waiting for paint of your choice. Has not seen snow since I purchased. It has white letter tires with about 65% tread left. Car has clear title and is located in Warren, MI

Any other questions and/or photos are available upon request via private message. Serious inquires only. Car is for sale locally as well so cash offers are welcomed as well. Buyers/Bidders with no transaction history will not be considered.

GM laying off 500 workers to slow Chevy Sonic production

Sat, Oct 24 2015

Due to slow sales of the Chevrolet Sonic and Buick Verano, General Motors is cutting a shift at the Orion Township plant that builds the pair. The move lays off about 500 workers, but most of them are expected to get offers to transfer to other factories, Automotive News reports. The move came just a day after GM announced adding 1,200 employees to the Detroit-Hamtramck plant. GM has been trying all year at the Orion Township factory to align production of the Sonic and Verano with their demand. The automaker first attempted idling the plant several times and eventually resorted to laying off about 100 workers. It also reduced the production rate there. With the huge rise in popularity of crossovers, demand for the plant's small cars is on the downturn. According to Automotive News, there's currently a 116-day supply of Sonics and 100 days of Veranos to sell. Delivers tell a similar tale because the Chevy is off 35.2 percent from January to September, and the Buick does little better with a 27.2 percent drop from the same period last year. While the situation at Orion Township might look rough now, big things are on the horizon. Soon, the new Chevy Bolt electric vehicle will be built there when it hits the market around 2017. Plus, the plant will also get a $245-million upgrade and 300 new jobs for another, unannounced vehicle.

How a Texas Hyundai dealer became the Chevy SSR king

Tue, Apr 21 2015

The SSR isn't one of the most appreciated vehicles in Chevy's long history. With a style amalgamating the look of a vintage hotrod, convertible and a pickup, it's really serving a niche market right from the start. However, a Hyundai dealer in Texas has turned selling the cult models into a booming business and has become the de facto king of the quirky truck. According to Automotive News, Paul Peebles runs North Freeway Hyundai in Spring, TX, but he's better known in the Chevy SSR community the premiere seller of the weird model through his used car network. The odd venture started in 2010 when Peebles wanted to boost his pre-owned business and bought several sporty vehicles. Among them were five SSRs, and he threw a cookout for owners to get the word out. Things just ballooned from there. Since then, Peebles' used car dealer has had a hand in 447 SSR transactions, and some of those are the same truck coming back to sell again. With just over 24,000 of them out there, that works about to two percent of the model's production moving through just one business. The dealership also sponsors an SSR owners' forum online. Being a major broker for a niche model also means that Peebles often gets rare examples of the SSR, including some of the Indianapolis 500 pace car versions, according to Automotive News. We even saw a bizarre one last year when the business put this shark-inspired truck on eBay Motors. The whole thing also works out well for Peebles' Hyundai business. Specializing in SSRs brings other performance models in as trade-ins, and they can draw folks to the lot to check out the collection. Then, maybe visitors can take a look at a Sonata, too.

800k car names trademarked globally, suddenly alphanumerics seem reasonable

Tue, 01 Oct 2013

What's in a name? This cliched phrase probably gets tossed out at every marketing meeting that happens when a new car gets its nomenclature. We know the answer, though: everything. The name of a car has all the potential to make or break it with fickle customers that are more conscious than ever about what their purchases say about them.
That's giving headaches to marketing folks across the automotive industry. "It's tough. In 1985 there were about 75,000 names trademarked in the automotive space. Today there are 800,000," Chevrolet's head of marketing, Russ Clark, told Automotive News. Infiniti's president, Johan de Nysschen, echoed Clark's sentiment, saying, "The truth of the matter is, across the world, there is hardly a name or a letter that hasn't already been claimed by one car manufacturer or another. You can go through the alphabet - A, B, C and so forth - and you will quickly see that almost all available letters are taken."
What has that left automakers to do? Get creative. In the case of Infiniti, it made the controversial move to bring all of its cars' names into a new scheme, classifying them as Q#0 for cars and QX#0 for SUVs and crossovers. So the Infiniti G, which was available as the G25 and G37, is now the Q50. The FX37 and FX50 are now the QX70.
