1964 impala pro touring
I have personally owned this car for 7 years. It has taken me and my friend 5 years to get the car to the stage where it is at now. I must say first i am an honest seller and would like an honest and respectful buyer. If the buyer does not have the funds to purchase this car please do not bid. I believe the new buyer has a right to ask any question he or she wants to ask and i will answer it. i have nothing to hide about this car. I myself have built this car in my garage . I would say its about 95% done and if the new buyer comes to purchase the car in person i will  go over the whole car with him and show it to him in detail so they can really appreciate it. also please do an inspection if possible as well. the things needed to be finished would be the wiper motor system. and the beauty panels for the trunk system, which would cover the air ride components and the amplifiers. I wanted to do the plexiglass in the middle of the amplifiers and the air ride system covered by vinyl, kind of like how the subs are.

description of car:

I wanted to build a car with the best of both worlds, antique and modern, something reliable as well. i tried to stay with the antique look and not do any major modifications to the  body or interior as you can see in the pictures.

Paint and Body were all taken apart and stripped down to metal. I bought new fenders, new inner fenders, new door shells, and new quarter panels. painted in a Glasurit black. The inside of the car including the trunk and under the car were sprayed with lizard skin insulation, before painting black. the interior and whole trunk is dynamated and i also put on the floor pan dynapad. all the trims are new and the bumpers have been re-chromed .

motor and transmission:
I purchased the motor and transmission along with the both computers that control them from gm performance parts. the motor is a ls376/480 crate motor which has its own computer. the transmission is a 4l60e which also has its own computer which can be tuned. they both are linked together and work perfectly. the whole motor is completely wire tucked ( no wires to be seen) very clean setup. the motor has a zoops serpentine pulley system with ac no heater. (i live in florida). the ac system is vintage air the controller is in the glovebox for the a/c. The transmission has a sport mode and economy mode that you can switch by the flip of a switch. both computers are hidden behind the kick panel on the passenger side. the headers are headman headers which go into 2.5 inch corsa db exhaust out into the back of the car.

Brakes, Steering and suspension:
The suspension is air ride technologies, the best system they have double adjustable shocks for rebound and compression. the controller for the air ride has 3 pre-sets. 1- low, 2- ride height, 3- high. The brakes are controlled by a hydratech brake booster going into baer brakes. the car also has a rack and pinion steering system. the cooling system is dual electric fans and a be cool radiator. The rear end was changed out as well with a moser m9 housing that has 3.55 gears.

Wheels: custom made Hre wheels 22 inch all around. front is 255 and rears are 295.

security:
this vehicle is equipped with clifford alarm system, gps tracking and early warning lojack.

Sound System:

the radio is hidden inside the glove box. Inside the car it has 4 sets of mids and highs by boston. 1 set is on the kick panels on the front of the seat and the others are mounted underneath the rear deck lid they are hidden i put them under a speaker cloth type material. (see pics) the trunk section houses two jl audio w7 subs. all of the sound system is powered by jl audio amplifiers and two optima batteries.

The tail lights are led tail lights. the two main lights are hid lights 6000k. and the other two which are the high beams are regular halogen bulbs.

Fullsize GM SUVs have a problem that's making owners sick

Thu, Dec 31 2015

Some fullsize SUV owners are getting sick, thanks to a buffeting and vibration problem in 2015 model year examples of the Chevy Tahoe and Suburban, Cadillac Escalade, and GMC Yukon. According to owners' complaints to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the issue can vary from an annoying vibration inside the cabin to an experience so severe that it leads to dizziness and headaches. General Motors is aware of the complaints, but the fix isn't so simple. According to spokesperson Tom Wilkinson to Autoblog, the company "has been tracking this issue for a while." The problem has a fairly low incidence rate, but when it does occur the issue can be "uncomfortable and annoying for owners." There's no precise cause for the issue, Wilkinson claims, and in some cases, simply balancing the tires or changing the door seals can make it go away. However, not all of the fixes are so simple. AutoGuide dug deep into the problem and discovered a GM preliminary information bulletin that advised dealers to remove the headliner and to check the roof's bonds to the bows that go across the vehicle. However, that document included a note that the solution might not entirely eliminate things. According to AutoGuide, adding Dynamat insulation to the roof sometimes helped the problem. A GM spokesperson also told AutoGuide the company fixed the problem at the end of the 2015 model year, and didn't go into any more detail. This roof issue seems linked to some of the worst droning in these SUVs. According to one complaint from a 2015 Suburban owner to NHTSA: "Roof will not remain attached to the roof bows. This causes the buffeting similar to a window being down when all are up. The results span from annoying to painful." A 2015 Yukon owner claims to have another alleged cause for the problem in a NHTSA complaint from February 2015. This person brought their SUV to the dealer seven times over the course of four weeks for vibrations. The dealer replaced the driveshaft, suspension components, and more, but nothing worked. According to an engineer to the service adviser: "In an effort to prevent roll overs, they designed the frame and body mounts too stiff. There are 40 engineers working on issues, they have no solutions that work across the board." Wilkinson told Autoblog that GM is working with customers on an individual basis to rectify things. Since these are newer vehicles, dealers should also fix the problem under warranty.

Expect greater differentiation in GM's next-generation SUVs

Thu, 03 Jan 2013

General Motors says its next-generation Chevrolet Tahoe, Suburban, GMC Yukon and Cadillac Escalade models will offer shoppers improved interior differentiation. Car and Driver recently caught up with Chris Hilts, GM's creative manager of interior design, who said that the cabins will all feature unique instrument panels, consoles, center stacks and switchgear moving forward. Apparently GM is now aware that consumers may be bothered by the fact that today's $85,000 Escalade has effectively the same cabin as a $45,000 Tahoe. Hilts says SUV buyers want more refinement than their pickup purchasing counterparts - and those same buyers also want their SUVs to have more exterior differentiation between the company's Silverado and Sierra pickup lines. Shocking.
That all sounds good to us, but we've heard this song and dance before. GM made big waves about how different the new-for-2013 Silverado and Sierra would look from each other, but judging by what we've seen so far, GM's stylists are painting in shades rather than with the full spectrum. 2016 Chevy Volt will have more EV range, bigger battery

Tue, Oct 28 2014

Meet the new Volt, not the same as the old Volt. That appears to be the story when General Motors introduces the 2016 Chevy Volt at the Detroit Auto Show in January. Today we're getting some more details on the guts of the new plug-in hybrid, and it turns out they're going to be much improved from the current Volt, which first went on sale at the end of 2010. Sure, the first-gen Volt did get some improvements along the way (a slightly larger battery pack, lane departure warnings) but the new Volt – which will go on sale in the second half of 2015 – marks the first time GM has been able to return to the drawing board and really make the improvements that its customers want. That's how Larry Nitz, GM's executive director of vehicle electrification explained it to AutoblogGreen today when explaining the all-new Voltec extended range electric vehicle (EREV) powertrain. "In the Gen 2 is we gave the engine a little more power, a little more torque, a little more displacement, more capability." – Larry Nitz Nitz said that the new Volt will be better in almost every sense: a bigger battery, longer EV-only range, 20 percent better acceleration in the low speed range and higher overall efficiency. This is due, in part, to the Volt's two motors being able to both act as generators and power the car. As we noted this morning, the 2016 Volt will use a larger, 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine, a version of which is already used in the Chinese-market Cruze. Nitz said that this has a number of benefits, including more power and quieter operation. "Some people would say, why did you make [the first-gen engine] so big. I would say, why did you make it so small?" he said. "It works good, our customers love it, but the reality is that if you go a little bit off and use the car a little harder, you can get the engine to need to operate at a higher speed. In an EV, that's quite noticeable. So, what we did in the Gen 2 is we gave the engine a little more power, a little more torque, a little more displacement, more capability and what it has marginally enabled is not only is it more efficient but it's also quieter." Nitz wouldn't talk about how the new powertrain might affect the two other products that use the Volt's underpinnings – the Cadillac ELR and the Opel Ampera – but if you've got a quieter option, we assume that's something ELR drivers would enjoy. But that's a story for another day.
