You are bidding on a 1963 chevy impala, this beauty has the rare anniversary gold paint, in the early 80s the car was purchased from an estate sale in Kentucky, which it only had 8,000 miles at that time, i have pictures of the car when it was original it was very clean with hardly any rust at all, these pictures will be included in the sale. In 2001 the impala recieved a frame off restoration, which I also have the pictures of that being done as well which will also be included in the sale. The 283 automatic car became a 350 4 speed manual at this time, I do have the original 283 if the winning bidder would like it. Im sure it would need to be rebuilt after years of sitting. The frame off was done right, every nut and bolt was replaced or restored as well, the frame, trunk floor boards, are solid with no rust since the restore the car has less than 4000 miles it has never seen rain, snow, salt etc. I am selling this car because I am down sizing and no longer have a home for it I will include as many pics as ebay will let me including the frame sitting on 4 tires. I have to sell quick so this will be a no reserve 5 day auction so please bid early and often for you will not be dissapointed. This car can be filled up and driven anywhere, I took one last 2 hour cruise yesterday and again would drive it anywhere,I felt like we should spend one more day together, before she gets her new owner, as I stated the car has to go so if your not gonna follow through please do not bid. Winnning bidder must immediately give a $1000 deposit through pay pal and the car must be picked up before June 5TH because of my down sizing I am forced to leave the state, so if you cant pick it up by 6/5/13 please dont bid.I am willing to pick anyone up at Chicagos Midway Airport if they need a ride, again this car can be driven anywhere with confidence, motor, tranny, lights, brakes, etc are all in working order, there are a couple flaws,a ding in the chrome here or there,a little chip in the steering wheel, nothing that is gonna cause the winner any headaches. There are absolutely no leaks ever under the car its been in my garage for years with no puddles,of any type,so no worries there.Again I hate the fact of selling it but there is no place for it where I am going, and I want her to have the home she deserves, as she has had the past 30 some yrs or so I also have the original owners manual, the original Kentucky plate that was on the car when it was registered in 1963 to its first owner I am the second. The Impala turned 50 this year and is near perfect, but remember she is 50 and the restore was 12 years ago, so its not percect, but it will win some shows thats for sure, there is no holes in dash, the original am stero sits in it still, so if you are looking for a car with jams you will have to buy some. The tires are good, brakes good I could go on and but I will let you judge, I have a crazy work schedule,so If there are any questions I will answer as fast as I can. The car must be paid in full at time of pick-up minus the $1000 deposit thru pay pal. The title will be signed over to the winner and off you go in your classic 1963 Impala that will ony increase in value as the years pass by. Again bid with confidence, I dont have a ton of feedback but its 100% I tell the truth. The car is all there you will not be dissapointed. Thanks for your interest, good luck and Happy Bidding.  I have had over 70 questions on the car,and most of them wanted a buy it now so I added that to the listing. Also about the miles the car had 8000 roughly on it when I purchased, when it thru the restore a 350 crate motor and a brand new muncie 4 speed where installed so the motor and tranny have approximately 4000 miles thats the bottom line the car now has almost 12,000 and drive train only 4000 thanks and Good Luck. The car may be sold at anytime, during this auction and if somebody wants to make a reasonable offer feel free I want to sell asap but its not a must and in my opinion the buy it now is $10,000 to cheap. There are not many of these around, and this one is a turn key car, drive it store it collect it whatever your pleasure.

Best and Worst GM Cars

Thu, Apr 7 2022

Oh yes, because we just love receiving angry letters from devoted Pontiac Grand Am enthusiasts, we have decided to go there. Based on a heated group Slack conversation, the topic came up about the best and worst GM cars. First of all time, and then those currently on sale, and then just mostly a rambling discussion of Oldsmobiles our parents and grandparents owned (or engineered). Eventually, three of us made the video above. Like it? Maybe we can make more. Many awesome GM cars are definitely going unmentioned here, so please let us know your bests and worsts in the comments below. Mostly, it's important to note that this post largely exists as a vehicle for delivering the above video that dives far deeper into GM's greatest hits and biggest flops, specifically those from the 1980s and 1990s. What you'll find below is a collection of our editors identifying a best current and best-of-all-time choice, plus a worst current and worst-of-all-time choice. Comprehensive it is not, but again, comments. -Senior Editor James Riswick Best Current GM Vehicle Chevrolet Corvette We were flying by the seats of our pants a bit in this first outing and my notes were similarly extemporaneous. When it came time to tie it all together on camera, I failed spectacularly. Thank the maker for text, because this gives me the opportunity to perhaps slightly better explain my convoluted reasoning. I chose the C8 Corvette because it's simply overwhelmingly good, and it's merely the baseline from which this generation of Corvette will be expanded.  While the Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing (more on that in a minute) is an amazing snapshot of GM's current performance standing and its little sibling so enraptured me that I went out and bought one, their existence is fleeting. Corvette will live on; forced-induction Cadillac sport sedans, not so much. So while all three are amazing machines when viewed in a vacuum, the Corvette stands above them as both a reflection of GM's current performance credentials and a signpost of what is to come. So, given the choice between the C8 and the 5V-Blackwing right now, I'd choose the C8. In 10 years, when the Blackwing is no longer in production and Corvette is in its 9th generation? Well, that might be a different story. Now, just pretend I said something even remotely that coherent when we get to the part of the video where I try to make an argument for the 5-V Blackwing as best GM car I've ever driven. Or just laugh at me while I ramble incoherently.

GM files to trademark name Badlands

Mon, Feb 23 2015

If you've been hoping for General Motors to come out swinging at the Ford F-150 Raptor, we've had some tantalizing news for you of late. Last month we brought you a report that indicated GM has trademarked the name "Z71 Trail Boss," suggesting a potential hardcore off-roader. Now it seems the General has filed for a potentially even better name. That name, as our friends over at GM Authority have discovered, is "Badlands." The application, filed on February 16, indicates that it's for a truck, but of course it doesn't specify just what form it would take... or for that matter, under which division it would fall. So we could, in theory, be looking at the nameplate for a Raptor rival from Chevy or GMC (like the 2011 Sierra All Terrain HD concept pictured here), or for some other trim level, a concept truck, a special edition... just about anything. Heck, it could be for a Vauxhall, Opel or Holden for all we know at this point. Or GM could choose not to use it on anything at all, but here's hoping it'll emerge as something awesome in US showrooms sometime soon. GM tinkering with Silverado, Sierra model mix amidst strong early sales

Mon, 04 Nov 2013

Variety, as they say, is the spice of life. That's a lesson that is currently being taught to General Motors, because despite a strong showing from its 2014 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra, the General's pickup sales still can't best those of cross-town rival Ford.
With 59,163 trucks moved, GM fell just over 1,000 units short of toppling Ford, and one of the main reasons for that, according to GM's chief sales analyst, was due to a lack of variety in the engines and body styles available on dealer lots. "We are still over-weighted toward crew-cab V8 trucks. Our light-duty mix will moderate over time as our launch progresses," said Kurt McNeil.
Loading dealers with the popular combination of the 5.3-liter V8 and the four-door, Crew Cab body style was intentional during the truck's launch, but as supplies of leftover 2013 models, which are being sold at heavy incentives, are beginning to wane, both budget-conscious and high-dollar buyers are looking elsewhere instead of at the volume model pickups.
