1963 Chevrolet Impala on 2040-cars
Bella Vista, California, United States
If you have any questions please email at: heikehkklebanow@ukjo.com . Hi, up for grabs is my 1963 Chevy Impala. As you can see by the pics below this car is in very good condition in
and out. This car just underwent a mild restoration and shows real well. Below I will try and describe exactly what
I see and know about this car.
Starting With The Outside: Laser straight and rust free body sprayed with a nice blue paint job. Car was taken
apart and painted correctly. Has some orange peel but doesn't take away from car. All the front and rear stainless
looks to have been polished out at some time and still looks real good. All glass is in good shape with no cracks
or scratches....looks to be the originals. Bumpers are clean originals possibly redone at one time before. There's
new side moldings, emblems, taillights, weatherstrips, license plates & placards, rear dual antennas and outer
mirrors. Headlights, taillights, and turn signals all work as they should. Also, for California buyers I have a set
of cleared black and yellow plates for the car.
Inside: Completely redone and looks great. There's new seat foam & covers, headliner & visors, door panels,
armrests & bases, inner door handles, all window cranks, rear ash trays, inner glovebox, door sill plates, all
pedal covers, tachometer, Impala floor mats, horn ring assembly, etc... You get the idea....basically everything
new. Dash and steering wheel were removed and painted and reinstalled...few things need to be hooked back up, but
everything is there. ( Front floor mats are brand new and had not flattened out yet at time of pics).
Motor & Transmission: Motor is a real strong 350 that was completely gone through when pulled out for paint...maybe
2,500 miles . There's a nice chrome dress up kit that was added to clean it up a bit. Also put a new battery,
alternator, aluminum radiator, chrome Spectre aircleaner, and optikleen bottle. Transmission is a close ratio
manual 4 speed that shifts fine. Clutch is new and works fine but takes some getting used to...not like driving a
Honda haha.
Suspension & Rims and Tires, Etc : Frontend bushings, wheel cylinders, and front and rear brakes are newer. Car is currently rolling on a
new set of staggered 20inch Foose wheels that look great...slight rub on inner fenders when making tight turns but
nothing drastic. I have a set of stock rims and tires and hubcaps if you prefer the original look. Undercarriage is
original and clean with no signs of any problem areas. Dual exhaust system that sounds real strong. Trunk is real
clean with no visible signs of rust or soft spots. I speckle painted it and added a new 3 piece trunk mat kit, and
jacking instructions decal.
Thank you !

Mustang retakes monthly pony car sales crown from Camaro
Wed, Dec 3 2014Going back to their origins in the Swinging '60s, the Ford Mustang and Chevrolet Camaro have been fierce rivals for fans' hearts and dollars. Historically, the Ford often led in volume, but Chevy took the muscle car top spot in 2009 upon the Camaro's rebirth. However, with the launch of the latest Blue Oval pony car, the tide is turning back in Ford's favor. November was the first full month of sales for the new 2015 Mustang, and according to TheDetroitBureau.com, the model did spectacularly well. The Blue Oval shifted 8,728 of them, up 62 percent from same month last year, with the automaker proclaiming it the model's best November sales since 2006. Conversely, 4,385 units of the Camaro were delivered, down 13.5 percent year-over-year, meaning its sales were roughly half that of the new-generation Mustang. Ford is understandably happy with the results, and product development director Raj Nair even hinted to TDB that another version of the Mustang might be unveiled at January's North American International Auto Show. Rumor has it that the model will be the even more potent Shelby Mustang GT350R. Despite the Mustang's November success, the Camaro outsells it year to day. So far in 2014, Ford has sold 73,124 Mustangs versus 79,669 examples of the Camaro. With December offering the last chance for an overtake, the Bowtie may yet remain king for this year's sales crown. A new Camaro is peeking over the horizon, as well. It's reportedly moving to the Alpha platform used by the Cadillac ATS, and production could start in late 2015. Prototypes are already testing at the Nurburgring, and camouflaged examples have been spotted weirdly being compared to its '80s forefather.
Steve McQueen's last movie car, now Pawn Stars-owned, up for auction [w/video]
Sun, 03 Feb 2013The last car Steve McQueen ever drove in a movie is officially up for auction. The 1951 Chevrolet Styline DeLuxe Convertible you see above is now owned by none other than Rick Harrison of Pawn Stars fame, but once ferried McQueen around the set of his last film, 1980's The Hunter. That flick saw the Bullit star play a bumbling bounty hunter and didn't exactly set the box office on fire. McQueen bought the car after production wrapped, and four years later it sold at his estate sale at the Imperial Palace in Las Vegas.
Flash forward to 2003, and the convertible received a full restoration back to near-stock specifications. Hagerty Insurance estimates the car to be worth around $45,000 without the significant providence. Given its ties to one of film's most popular gearheads, the old Chevrolet could fetch up to 10 times that when it goes under the gavel in Ft Luaderdale, Florida on March 22. You can head over to the Auctions America site for more information. You can also check out the trailer for The Hunter below.
Weekly Recap: Lamborghini to build SUV
Sat, May 30 2015Finally, Lamborghini will build a sport utility vehicle. The Italian supercar maker confirmed this week that it will launch a luxury SUV in 2018. It will be built at Lamborghini's soon-to-expand factory in Sant'Agata Bolognese in Italy, and will double the company's current sales volume. Lamborghini did not announce a name for the vehicle or other details, but noted a concept version, the Urus, was displayed at the Beijing motor show in 2012. It will be sold around the world, but it's expected to be a critical offering in the United States, China, and the Middle East. The automaker projects the SUV will sell about 3,000 units per year, and it will be the third product in Lamborghini's portfolio. It currently sells the Huracan and Aventador supercars. "The introduction of a third model line endorses the stable and sustainable growth of the company and signifies for us the beginning of a new era," Lamborghini chief executive Stephan Winkelmann said in a statement. The project is also a boon for Italy, which will get 500 new jobs in the Emilia Romagna region as Lamborghini's factory will nearly double in size. Ian Fletcher, principal analyst for IHS Automotive, said the SUV will position Lamborghini for future growth. "It could well also bring new customers to the brand [who] may find the dramatic styling of Lamborghini products appealing, but find its typical sports cars restrictive," he said. "If it is a success, the SUV could be a catalyst to Lamborghini broadening its portfolio further." OTHER NEWS & NOTES GM invests in Chevy Camaro factory General Motors is investing $175 million to upgrade its factory in Lansing, MI, to build the 2016 Chevy Camaro. The investment will pay for new tooling and equipment. The improvements include three new paint systems and two new robotic framers. GM will add a second shift at the factory to build the Camaro, resulting in 500 jobs. The automaker had dropped the plant to one shift last year amid slow sales for its products, the Cadillac ATS and CTS. GM is spending $5.4 billion over the next three years to upgrade its US facilities. Last week, GM announced plans to spend $439 million to build a new paint shop for the Chevy Corvette. While the Camaro and Corvette plant improvements are intriguing to enthusiasts, GM also confirmed this week that it is investing $1.2 billion in its Fort Wayne (IN) factory that builds trucks.
