1963 Chevy Impala - 2 Door Hardtop - Chevy 350 Small Block with 2spd Automatic Transmission with Rebuilt Edlebrock 4brl Carb

Up for sale is a 1963 impala two door hardtop. This car has an extremely straight body with little bondo and no visible rust in any of the quarters, fenders, rockers or wheel wells.   This car is a driver.  It has power steering and an automatic shifter in the column. Original running gear.

The interior is great shape.  The seats are black vinyl with red inserts.  The car has a new white headliner in excellent condition.  The original speaker cover is present in the back seat.  The dash has the OEM replacement cover.  Carpet is black and also in excellent condition.  The interior has a few small spots in the rear seat on the passenger side.  The front and rear windshields are in excellent condition.  The driver and passenger rear and front glass are all in good condition.  The windows do stick a little when being rolled up and down.  The front and rear bumper are in great shape with no major dents.  The chrome shines up well

The body of the car has been painted in a washable flat black paint.  The top of the car was spray canned with primer and could be painted whatever color you would like.  The body paint on the car I would rate a 6 of 10.  It's not perfect but it's flat black and looks great from 15 feet.  The car has 15 inch wheels with beauty rings and rally hub caps.  The tires are in fair condition and are Coopers with raised white lettering.

The car does need a few things and the are as follows - The worst part of the car is the trunk drain rail or lip.  The driver side of the drip rail has rust and will need to be repaired.  I have included photos.  The lower section of the trunk lip has been cut out and will need to be replaced. (closest to the bumper)  The trunk lid is in good condition overall with a little minor rust only.  The floors of the trunk are good with a few minor holes that can be repaired - It does not need a trunk pan - the lip is the issue with the trunk.  The hood lip has some rust issues that can be seen in the photo.  Floor pans are in good condition with a few places that will need some patch work nothing major for a 1963.   The previous owner decided to apply sheet metal screws to the passenger side trim and the front hood trim (what can ya do....).  The car will need some small wiring issues addressed.  The headlights, parking and brake lights work.  The previous owner removed the factory steering wheel and disconnected the turn signals and horn.

I have the factory steering wheel (needs back plate and horn contact ring) .  I also have most of the trim for the car that is not present.  As well as new rubber molding for the trunk lid.

Over all the body of this car is very straight and runs and drives well. The interior is in very nice condition.  This would be a great car for an SS clone or to be a DRIVER. This car is insured, tagged and registered driven regularly.

THIS CAR WILL BE SOLD WITH A BILL OF SALE.

$800.00 Dollar paypal deposit with remaining due in cash upon pick up of vehicle.  The car is sold AS-IS with no implied warranties.  Any delivery of the car must be paid and arranged by the BUYER. PLEASE CALL OR EMAIL WITH ANY QUESTIONS prior to BIDDING.

Tarantino's stolen Chevy Malibu from Pulp Fiction recovered after 19 years [w/video]

Mon, 29 Apr 2013

Quentin Tarantino fans will likely remember Vincent Vega's cherry 1964 Chevrolet Malibu Convertible in Pulp Fiction. In a movie drenched in automotive references, the Malibu is very nearly a character in and of itself, and it serves as the subject of Vega's soliloquy about the kind of man who vandalizes another's automobile. It also happened to be Tarantino's personal car when the film was shot, and was apparently stolen shortly after production wrapped. Now police have located the car some 19 years later.
As it turns out, the thieves cloned the vehicle identification number from another '64 Malibu and had the car registered under the new digits. It was then sold to an unsuspecting buyer. Police happened upon the duplicate VINs while investigating another potential theft. Right now, it's unclear whether Tarantino has taken possession of the Chevrolet, if it has remained in the possession of the fraud victim, or whether it's caught somewhere in the gears of justice. Either way, you can catch Vega's memorable thoughts on the car keying in the Pulp Fiction clip below. But consider yourself warned: the video contains explicit language as Not Safe For Work as it comes.

GM investing $167m in Spring Hill for new midsize vehicles

Tue, 06 Aug 2013

General Motors has announced a large investment in its Spring Hill, Tennessee facility. The former home of Saturn production will be getting a $167 million addition to a previously announced $183 million, to cover a pair of new midsize vehicles. The investment is expected to create 1,800 jobs at the factory.
That $350 million is being divvied up for a pair of programs at Spring Hill. The first will take the bulk of the money ($223 million) and create 1,000 of the 1,800 jobs, while the other will take the remaining $127 million and generate the leftover 800 positions. But GM says the investment will cover "midsize vehicle programs." So what could they be?
The leading candidate in our minds is a new crossover for Buick, called the Anthem, that will slot between the Encore and Enclave, but will be slightly smaller than the Equinox and Terrain. As we've explained, the new model will likely be the first product to sport GM's new D2UX platform, which will eventually replace both the Delta and Theta platforms. Spring Hill is already building the Equinox, so there could be some credence to this theory.

GM recalling over 243,000 crossovers over possible seat belt defect

2010 Buick Enclave - Click above for high-res image gallery
The summer of 2010's recall hit parade continues unabated today, with General Motors having just announced that it is asking 243,403 owners of its 2009-2010 Lambda crossovers to bring their three-row haulers in for inspection. The culprit? Second-row seat belts in select Buick Enclave, Chevrolet Traverse, GMC Acadia, and Saturn Outlook CUVs have "failed to perform properly in a crash."
According to GM, a second-row seat-side trim piece is to blame, as it can impede the upward rotation of the buckle after the seat is folded flat. As a result, if the buckle makes contact with the seat frame, cosmetic damage can occur, potentially requiring additional force to operate the buckle properly. So far, no great shakes, but in the process of applying that additional force, the occupant may push the buckle cover down to the strap, potentially revealing and depressing the red release button. As a result of this, the belt may not latch, or in certain cases, it may actually appear to be latched when, in fact, it isn't.
