These fins now stretch to the sides of the car and without a doubt created one of the most widely recognized rear end looks ever made. With two long side ways tear drop style taillights stemming from a long piece of trim running down the side the car just has that "classic style."The beautiful 1959 Chevrolet Impala Convertible Canadian car presented here has been restored very well and is in very clean condition. t has since undergone a full restoration where all items were restored to original. These cars are widely sought after and being a Convertible just makes it that much more desirable. The body is coated in a very nice Black that combines with all of that classic chrome and stainless trim perfectly. The body work and painting was extremely well done and completed by one of the best shops in Reno. It is a base coat/clear coat with the paint being DuPont jet Black. The white convertible top is in great shape and raises/lowers with ease. All of the glass on the car is brand new with no signs of damage or issues. All of the emblems, fender mounted side mirrors, trim etc are there and are cleanly mounted in place. All of the chrome and stainless is either brand new or restored by ABC plating in Reno Nevada Company. The car has a nice stance and sits on the original style wheels/hubcaps and spinners that look great. These are then wrapped with wide white wall tires that look perfect peaking out from under the fender skirts in rear. Mechanically the car is in outstanding condition being all professionally done. The 348 V8 4 barrel motor was worked over by the shop as was the rear end, brakes, cooling system and 350 transmission. Everything is in good working condition and has that nostalgic look being painted a combo of Black and Chevrolet Orange. The interior of the car is complete with the original style upholstery work and is done in blue colors as opposed to the typical Red you see in every Black Impala. This gives the car a bit of uniqueness and really helps it stand out among the other Impalas out there. The upholstery, side panels, carpet and top are all NEW and just as the exterior all of the trim, chrome work, door handles, etc are in place and all looking great. The trunk is finished out nicely too, with NOS continental kit. For the popularity of these cars and level of this restoration you won't find another quite like it. for more questions and pictures please call me at 775 404 2173

AMC Trans Am Javelin SST, an ultra-rare underdog, is up for auction
Sat, Sep 9 2023Among the rarest of the American muscle cars that went racing in the early Seventies — cars including the Camaro Z/28 and the Boss 302 Mustang — the 1970 AMC Trans Am Javelin SST may be the most hard to find, and among the most valuable. Only 100 units of this unique Javelin were produced, and one of them is up for auction at the Mecum event in Dallas on September 20. The Trans Am Javelin was fashioned in a patriotic livery of tricolor paint — red, white and blue — and arrived after the American Motors Corporation had decided in 1968 to compete in the Trans Am racing series against Ford and General Motors. The company's chief driver, Mark Donohue, would dominate the 1971 season, taking seven wins in his Javelin AMX and that yearÂ’s SCCA Trans-Am Championship. AMC took the trophy with 82 points, well ahead of Ford's 61, Chevrolet's 17 and Pontiac's paltry 7. The example listed for auction came equipped with a 390-cubic-inch V-8 engine with 325 horsepower at 5,000 rpm and 420 pound-feet of torque, power steering and brakes, dual exhaust, BorgWarner four-speed manual transmission and Hurst competition shifter. Its “ram induction system” sealed a chamber around the air filter so that cool air from the functional hood scoop would be funneled into the intake. This JavÂ’s factory price was $3,995 — a mere $32,000 or so in today's money, though it was expensive by the standards of the time. The 100 Trans Ams were among 19,714 Javelin units built in 1970, so they started out rare, and today the surviving examples are highly collectible, if and when they come up for sale. No bid estimate is available yet. Related Video: Motorsports Chevrolet Ford Pontiac Auctions Automotive History Racing Vehicles Classics

GM sweetens military discount for Buick, Chevy and GMC
Sun, 06 Oct 2013American servicemen and women interested in a new vehicle from Chevrolet, Buick or GMC now have a bit more incentive to head down to their local dealer, as General Motors has announced plans to improve its military discount program.
The new GM Military Discount Program offers eligible consumers a new Chevy, Buick or GMC at invoice pricing, which in some cases can take very large chunks out of a car's retail price. When factored in with other incentives, most of which are available with the Military Discount, the bargains are thick on the ground for members of the US armed forces.
GM's Retail Sales and Marketing Support general manager, Chuck Thomson, said, "GM has long supported the military and military families, and we hope this simplified and enhanced discount will show our appreciation for their service and help make it easier for them to own one of our great new vehicles." The program is open to all active duty and reserve members in the Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force, National Guard and Coast Guard, as well as veterans that have been out of the service for less than a year. Military retirees and their spouses are also eligible for the discount.
