1958 Chevrolet Impala 2-Dr Hard Top
I am proud to list this beautiful '58 Impala that is Fathom blue (912A-L) with blue & gray vinyl cloth interior (822). It has an original 283 cid engine with the power pack option. (4 bbl carb & dual exhaust) power steering & automatic turboglide transmission. It has a radio, clock, and heater in the beautiful interior with the tri-tone cloth inserts. Comes with a set of tear drop fender skirts and wide white wall tires for that cool 50's look.
This Impala has a nice detailed engine bay, new interior, a very nice and solid trunk compartment with a spare wheel and tire and all of the jacking hardware. The floor pans, trunk pan, body braces, and inner rockers are solid and do not appear to have ever been repaired or patched. The quarter panels appear to be original to the car and have no signs of rust, repair, or being spliced. The glass is all in good shape and all original except the rt. door glass, even the windshield appears to be original. The interior is all fresh, new seat covers, head liner, and carpet. The trim panels are very nice but appear to be older than the rest of the interior (may be original)? The car has had a repaint and stayed the original Fathom blue. It appears to have been done for a while. It was sanded flat and polished out to a high gloss and still retains good depth. The car runs, shifts and drives wonderfully. It has great torque and acceleration, it has nice mild dual glass packs that sound very good but not loud, has new brakes and stops very well too. These '58 Impalas are getting hard to find so don't miss out on this one, remember your cruise nights will be starting up soon.
The odometer shows 52,844 and the previous owner was told that it is original. I am representing it as exempt since I have no documentation. It is being sold as is - where is with no written warranty or any implied. The car is located in Wentzville, Mo. which is 35 miles west of St. Louis on I-70. Please feel free to come out and take it for a test drive and inspect it. Please call me with any questions, Greg (806) 477-2201. I also have a very nice '57 Belair on ebay (yellow). I also have a '56 Belair convertible and a '50 Ford convertible that I will have posted soon. Please view my auctions and thank you for looking. I sell world wide and can assist in shipping to the port and over seas. This car is for sale locally as well and I reserve the right to stop the auction at any time. Please only bid if you are a serious buyer. Lets make a deal,Thank you, Greg.

GM recalling 250,000 SUVs over door electronics
Mon, 20 Aug 2012After a door-fire investigation that dates back to February, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has officially announced a recall today that affects around 250,000 General Motors SUVs for a faulty driver's door module. The recall applies to the Buick Rainier, Chevrolet Trailblazer, GMC Envoy, Isuzu Ascender and Saab 9-7X from the 2006 and 2007 model years, as well as the 2006 Chevrolet Trailblazer EXT and GMC Envoy XL for vehicles sold and/or registered in the Snow Belt.
Road salt use in these midwestern and northern states can lead to corrosion of the driver's door module on these GMT360 and GMT370 vehicles, which allows water to come in contact with the circuit board. If shorted out, the vehicle's power door locks and power windows will not work, and could possibly lead to overheating and, in some circumstances, a fire. No official word on how many total vehicles caught on fire, but back in June, 28 fires had been reported to the government agency. A fix for the problem is still being worked out, but all affected vehicle owners will be notified by GM.

Reuss says GM diesel plans are still on pace
Fri, Oct 16 2015General Motors is not going to let Volkswagen's diesel emissions scandal ruin its plans for a new line of efficient, torquey oil-burners, the company's Executive Vice President Mark Reuss said at a recent press event. "No way," Reuss responded when asked about cancelling the upcoming diesel-powered Chevrolet Cruze and other vehicles. "The Cruze Diesel is too good not to do it." Slated for 2017, the compact is just the latest member of a diesel offensive that initially kicked off with the first Cruze Diesel and most recently saw the introduction of the oil-burning Chevy Colorado and GMC Canyon. Reuss also reassured those in attendance that there was "no delay" in development of Cadillac's diesel lineup. Cadillac is working on a line of four- and six-cylinder turbodiesels for Europe. They'd make their way into the US market, too, eventually. "It's a question of timing," Reuss said, according to Car and Driver. Volkswagen's diesel emissions scandal has caused automakers across the globe to at least reanalyze their diesel strategy. Jaguar Land Rover, which is preparing several diesel-powered models for the US market, went on record late last month to reaffirm its commitment to diesel. Chevy Volt replacement battery cost varies wildly, up to $34,000
Fri, Jan 10 2014There's a growing hubbub in the plug-in vehicle community over what looks like some ridiculously cheap replacement batteries for the Chevrolet Volt going up for sale. GM Parts Online, for example, is selling a replacement Volt battery with an MSRP of $2,994.64 but, with an online discount, the price comes down to $2,305.88. For the 16-kWh pack in the 2012 Volt, that comes to a very low $144.11 per kilowatt hour (kWH). But is it a real deal? How can it be, when a Chevy dealer may quote you a price of up to $34,000 to replace the pack? For a 16-kWh Volt pack, $2,305.88 comes to a very low $144.11 per kWh. But is it a real deal? Battery packs in alternative propulsion vehicles are usually priced by the kWh and, historically, they've been thought to be in the range of $500-per-kWh for OEM offerings. Since automakers are understandably secretive about their costs, we still don't know what the real number is today, but we do know it varies by automaker. Tesla, for example, has said it pays less than $200-per-kWH at the cell level but, of course, a constructed pack would be more. Whatever is going on, li-ion battery prices are trending downward. So, $144.11 certainly sounds great, but what's the story here? Kevin Kelly, manager of electrification technology communications for General Motors, reminded AutoblogGreen that GM Parts Online is not the official GM parts website and that, "the costs indicated on the site are not what we would charge our dealers or owners for a replacement battery. There would be no cost to the Volt owner if their battery needs replacement or repair while the battery is under the eight year/100,000 mile limited warranty coverage provided by Chevrolet." A single price tag also can't be accurate for everyone, Kelly said. "If the customer needs to have their battery repaired beyond the warranty, the cost to them would vary depending on what needs to be replaced or repaired (i.e. number of modules, which specific internal components need replacement, etc.)." he said. "So, it's hard for us to tell you exactly what the cost would be to the customer because it varies depending on what might need to be repaired/replaced. As a result, the core charge would vary." But, is the $2,300 price even accurate for anyone? Thanks to a reader comment, we see that this similar item on New GM Parts makes it look like the lithium-ion modules that Kelly mentioned – where a lot of the expensive bits are – are not included.
