WOW!

Very few in the country like this one

Let me start out by saying that this is a seriously rare and hard to find vehicle. Up for your consideration is this absolutely stunning 1 year only 2009 Chevrolet HHR SS Turbo “PANEL” with the factory Stage 1 performance package. This vehicle was a special order and built September 29, 2008. It is 1 of only 216 panel SS’s ever produced and even a more rare 1 of 72 in Victory Red paint code. That number drops even further when you factor in the optional power sunroof, the center performance display, remote start and the automatic transmission. This HHR SS has extremely low mileage at only 14,650 and has never been in any accident nor has it had any paint work. One of the main differences between this vehicle and a stock HHR SS would be the GM dealer installed Stage 1 performance package. This package raises the already healthy engine power of this HHR SS from the factory stated 250 hp to an estimated 290 hp.  Add to that,  torque figures into the 300’s. That is serious for a 3200 lb vehicle.

This particular SS panel also has the very cool and optional center performance display pod. This performance pod can display many different performance parameters including the engine turbo boost as seen in the photos.

This is just an all around cool and one of a kind little rocket ship that also gets great gas mileage and hauls plenty of cargo. I would bet  with the high performance numbers and the “very low” production numbers, this vehicle will become a collector item in the near future.

The red paint, body, sport interior and drive train of this HHR  SS are all in great condition showing very little to no wear. The tires are 18 inch low profile Michelin and have plenty of even tread remaining.

Another cool feature and one that most people may overlook is the fact that this vehicle actually does have back doors. These doors are without external handles and are operated via the key fob remote and help with loading cargo into the back.

How many HHR SS PANELS have you seen?

This vehicle belongs to a friend of mine that lives in Tennessee as well as Anderson SC. He has asked for my assistance  listing his rare car on eBay.  The car is currently stored in Anderson SC. and comes with a clean and clear title for easy transfer of ownership

Please view the current and up to date pictures and feel free to contact Mitch at 865-924-1273 with any questions you may have.  I’m sure he’ll be more than glad to assist.

THANK YOU FOR LOOKING AND GOOD LUCK BIDDING!!

Chevy teases next-gen Volt at fan event in LA

Thu, Nov 20 2014

Barely two months before its planned debut at the 2015 North American International Auto Show, Chevrolet has released yet another batch of teaser images of its second-generation Volt. Unlike the first image, though, which just showed the car's rear badge, there's a lot more to this quartet of shots. The first three images show off the nose of the next-gen model and come from a fan event in Los Angeles. What we can see is a sleeker front end, with an evolution of the silver grille inserts previously seen on the original Volt and Spark EV. Gone is the current car's split upper grille, in favor of a more conventional arrangement. The sharper, more angular headlights are also an evolution of the lamps seen on the current Volt. Chevrolet also took the opportunity to announce a new location-based charging system that uses GPS to adjust the vehicle's charge settings, including the charge level, while also announcing that the next-gen car will feature more intuitive charge indicators that will be better able to inform owners of their car's charging level. The tech will mean that the Volt 'knows' when it is parked at home, and can thus automatically optimize charging for off-peak times, and so on. Take a look at the teaser images at the top of the page, and then head below for Chevy's press release announcing the new features. Next-Gen Chevy Volt Offers More User-Friendly Charging 2014-11-20 GPS makes charging more convenient Portable charger is easier to access Intuitive visual cues show charge status DETROIT – If there's one thing Chevrolet Volt owners love about their cars, it's being able to recharge the battery easily. Evidence of that is a U.S. Department of Energy study that shows more than 80 percent of all trips by Volt owners did not use the range extender. Chevrolet has made the charging system in the next-generation Volt even easier for customers to recharge the battery – and to check the charge status. The next-generation Volt debuts in January at the North American International Auto Show. "Chevrolet used the real-world experiences of today's Volt owners to make the charging process simpler and more convenient in the next-generation Volt," said Andrew Farah, chief engineer for the Volt.

This is how GM is hiding new Chevy Volt in public

Wed, Oct 1 2014

General Motors is letting the public know that, well, it's not about to let the public know anything else about the next-generation Chevrolet Volt. But the automaker is willing to talk about its camouflaging process for upcoming versions of the extended-range plug-in. So it's a half-hearted secret, at best. GM actually has a "camouflage engineer" charged with creating ways to disguise the styling of new vehicles. In the Volt's case, the company is applying black and white swirly color patterns on top of the materials, such as plastics, vinyl and foam, that are used liberally across the body. It's all part of a teaser campaign that started last month with pictures of part the 2016 Volt. Earlier this month, GM said it was keeping track of Volt drivers' habits as it works on the next-gen model. The company noted that more than four out of five trips are being made in all-electric driving mode, and that 60 percent of Volt owners use a plain-old 100-volt outlet to recharge their cars. The car is slated to make its global debut at Detroit's North American International Auto Show next January, and the early word is that performance and all-electric range will be improved (we should hope so). The car will also be sleeker. By how much, we can't tell yet, because of those darn swirly patterns. GM's got more non-details in its press release below. Engineers charged with hiding styling while vehicle testing proceeds in public DETROIT – The styling of the next-generation Chevrolet Volt is one of the automotive world's best-kept secrets. Keeping customers and media eager to see the successor to the groundbreaking original at bay until the new Volt debuts at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit in January is tricky business. First, it is engineers, not designers, who are charged with creating camouflage that balances styling secrecy with the need to validate the Volt and its systems in public. "If it were up to me it would be a shoebox driving down the road," said Lionel Perkins, GM camouflage engineer. "The design team wants us to cover more of the vehicle and the engineering team needs to have enough of the vehicle's weight and aero exposed so that the tests in the development process are consistent with the product that will come to market." The engineers responsible for the "cool" designs covering the car might deserve style points but their efforts are intended strictly to hide the metal beneath.

Recharge Wrap-up: Chevy Volt CarPlay video, Tesla Supercharger importance

Fri, Feb 5 2016

A video demonstrates Apple CarPlay on the touch display in the next-generation Chevrolet Volt. The Volt's eight-inch (bigger than an iPad Mini) capacitive display is capable of putting Siri and your iPhone apps and right at your fingertips. It's "the best CarPlay display I've seen," says the user in the video. In case you're not in the market for a new Volt, 9to5Mac offers some of its favorite aftermarket CarPlay screens. See the video above, and read more at 9to5Mac. A single Supercharger can make a big difference in the life of a Tesla owner. Teslarati's Electric Jen talks about purchasing a Model S, being assured by both Tesla employees and the map of planned Supercharger sites that one would be built along an important route for her. With the construction being pushed back, it made visiting family tricky. "As if owning such a grand car isn't embarrassing enough, asking for a ride to drop off and pick up said car because you can't make it home without charging really made me feel awkward," she says. "You see, one single charging location can mean the world to some people," Jen adds. Read the whole article at Teslarati. Tesla once had considered creating mobile range extender trailers for the Model S. Elon Musk touched upon the abandoned idea during his visit to Paris. While Tesla ultimately dismissed the concept, Nomadic Power has taken the opportunity to hitch their product onto the Tesla brand. "We are delighted, that Tesla Motors' CEO Elon Musk is thinking about a concept like ours for even more extending the range of the Tesla models," says Nomadic Power's CEO Manfred Baumgaertner. He adds, "This confirms our approach to build a long distance mobility provider for all electric vehicles on the market." If you say so, Baumgaertner. When the batteries have degraded to the point that they're no longer suitable for use on the road, they still have a significant capacity that can be used for other purposes. Still useful for stationary storage, they can be used to support charging sites in order to allow for faster charging. The stationary batteries can charge slowly at the site, but then offer up the juice in a hurry when it's needed for a vehicle. Read more from Renault.
