This is a very cool old flat front window van from the very dry state of Oklahoma. You don't hardly see any of these old vans anymore. Most ended up rusting away years ago. This one is very solid with only very minor rust issues. The worst area is under the front bumper. The floors are super solid as well as all doors. The original paint is very faded. It has great patina and looks great just the way it is. It takes years to get this look naturally. It has a new windshield and all other glass is good. It does need all new weather-stripping. This thing would look super cool lowered. The engine is a later model 250 Cu In. 6 - cylinder hooked up the original 3 speed on the column. It starts right up and drives out great. It has new brakes, exhaust, front end parts, gold metal flake steering wheel, and more. I have a matching outside door mirror for passenger door. It has vintage all aluminum American Racing 5 spoke wheels and super cool fat white walls. The front seats are newly recovered with metal flake panels, but the rear seat should be recovered also to match better. All lights, wipers, gauges, speedometer, heater, etc, work. It still has the fresh air intake grille under the front splash pan. These were almost always taken off and discarded. Small block Chevys will bolt right in one of these because in 1967 a 283 V-8 was an option. Would look way too cool with a V-8 and zoomie headers sticking behind the front wheels and out under the lowered body. Very cool hot rod, rat rod, gasser, street rod, low rider, lead sled, that you can put your business name on and get some real advertising done. This van drives out and stops very well, and it is very reliable, but I am not sure that a trip across the US would be a fun one. I would recommend having it shipped. You can call Mark and Lorrie for a reliable and reasonable shipping quote. 479-799-1609 My zip is 63026 in Fenton, MO. Tell them Dave Walters told you to call them. NO TRADES NO TRADES NO TRADES Now for the business end. I encourage you, or someone you trust or hire, to come by and check out the vehicle in person. I will refund your deposit if the vehicle does not match the above description. The vehicle does not leave here until all funds clear my bank. Bank and cashiers checks can take up to 10 business days. My bank will give me a letter stating the date when the check will clear. I will forward a copy of the letter to you. Bank transfers can take up to 2 days depending on what time of the day it is initiated on your end. Again, my bank will let me know when it clears. Cash is great if picking it up in person. Call me at 314-732-592five to get honest answers to all of your questions BEFORE YOU BID. Thanks, Dave I do not respond to text messages One more time, NO TRADES, Please do not ask. If you do not know, understand, and accept what "no trades" means, then you surely do not have a vehicle that I would be interested in. I do not respond to low ball offers, text messages, or take offers over the phone. If you want to make an offer, please do so through ebay email. Include your name and contact info. If I feel you are a serious buyer, I will contact you back. If you do not hear back from me, then my vehicle must be out of your price range. Once my vehicle hits it's reserve price, I will not end the auction. I do not give out my reserve price. Too many knuckleheads out there that like to play games with bidding just under the reserve amount with no intention of actually buying the vehicle. Makes it look like schill bidding is going on. If you have a feed back rating less that 100% or less than 10 feedbacks, you might want to check with me before bidding. I will sometimes block or cancel bids if I get a bad feeling for the bidder. Non-paying winners are a real problem for sellers and it is hard to get seller fees refunded from Ebay in a timely manner, if at all. For you new members, please don't bid unless you know and accept how ebay works and understand that you are legally committing to purchase if you bid. Not following through with a purchase after winning an auction for a new member can result in ebay canceling your membership. Thanks to all, good luck with your bidding, and have a great day, Dave 314-732-592five |

Next-gen Chevy Cruze caught cruising in the cold
Wed, 13 Feb 2013Spy photographers have caught what looks like the next-generation Chevrolet Cruze out on snow patrol. The camo could be tricking our eyes, but it look like it has an even tidier, more rounded front end and even lower fenders in relation to the top of the hood. And either a chunk of camo has been wedged between the side mirrors and the doors, or the mirrors are up for revision, too.
The door handles have been moved up the side of the car, leading the way to a rear end that grows a bit in length. If the rumors are true, the coming second-generation Cruze sits on the new D2XX platform that will replace the Delta and Theta platforms at General Motors. A global architecture, the Cruze will be the first to get it, but it will underpin everything from next Chevrolet Volt to the Equinox and could be responsible for 2.5 million units by 2018. The next Cruze is expected to begin production in GM's Lordstown, Ohio plant in the third quarter of 2014.
GM Recalling 370,000 Trucks For Fire Risk
Mon, Jan 13 2014DETROIT (AP) - General Motors is recalling 370,000 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra pickups from the 2014 model year to fix software that could cause the exhaust components to overheat and start a fire. The recall includes 303,000 trucks in the U.S. and 67,000 in Canada and Mexico. All of the trucks involved have 4.3-liter or 5.3-liter engines. GM said eight fires have been reported, but no injuries. One garage was damaged, the company said. All of the incidents occurred in cold weather. The company is asking customers not to leave their trucks idling unattended. GM dealers will reprogram the software for free. The company will inform owners starting Jan. 16. The major recall announcement, which came on Saturday, marred the Silverado's winning of the 2014 North American Truck of the Year Award at the Detroit Auto Show on Monday. The U-2 spy plane needs high-performance cars to help land
Thu, Oct 15 2015Typically, aircraft deploy their landing gear from three main points. Most military aircraft, for example, deploy two gears at the back and one forward, like a tricycle. Some civilian aircraft flip the layout, with two in front and one in back - tail-draggers. The U-2 Dragon Lady is wildly different than any of these. With a 103-foot wingspan but a body that's just 63-feet long, the layout of the U-2 makes a traditional landing setup infeasible. Instead, the U-2 utilizes a pair of wheels, one up front and one in back. With such a bizarre layout, landings are so tough that since the U-2's earliest flights at Area 51, the US Air Force has used high-performance chase cars to guide the pilot down safely. The landing process isn't over there, though. As this video from Sploid shows, balancing out the aircraft to fit the detachable "pogos" – think training wheels for spy planes – is a comical procedure requiring a number of airman using their full body weight to even out the U-2. This video also recaps some of the great vehicles that have served as chase vehicles for this legendary spy plane. They include Chevrolet El Caminos, and the Fox-body Ford Mustangs so favored by the California Highway Patrol. For the last several years, the USAF has utilized products from General Motors, using fourth-generation Chevy Camaros, before switching over to the Pontiac GTO and most recently, the awesome Pontiac G8. It's fair to say that if you're a gearhead in the Air Force, this is the job you want. Check out the video, embedded up top.
