93' Chevy G20 Van W/panther 14 Carpet Cleaning Truckmount Plus Much More on 2040-cars
Waterbury, Connecticut, United States
I bought this Van & truckmount because I was going to compliment my air duct cleaning business with carpet cleaning deals... something like, get our air duct cleaning package and we'll do your carpets for free. I had a portable but decided to go for the truckmount. I became certified by the IICRC in carpet cleaning and then decided that I just don't want to go down that route. I want to stick to duct cleaning only and want to buy a box truck and thus, I need to get rid of this van & truckmount.
Ok, I bought this van with completely serious mojo for it to be reliable for years to come. There's a massive amount of work and newer parts in this van. Here's a list of parts and cost (including labor): New catalytic converter ... $400 New center pipe ... $60 New muffler... $200 New tailpipe ... $45 New computer board (includes diagnostics) $250 New distributer (not just the distributer cap & rotor but includes the actual distributer)... $170 New plugs and wires (tune-up)... $100 New fuel filter... $45 New air filter... $15 Oil change/filter & PVC valve... $40 New windshield ...$300 (not shown in picture because it is currently being arranged) New axle ...$250 Ok, with all of these new parts, it might as well be a new van!. I spent well over $1500 and this vehicle passed emissions as well. Engine looks very clean. Previously it was being used in Oklahoma which is where I purchased it from. I'm assuming not much weatherization (as compared to the northeast regions) but the van runs great & the transmission is smooth. I was almost tempted to just sell the truckmount & equipment and use the van for the air duct cleaning but I decided that it's too much of a hassle and I want the bigger box truck. I also got a brand new clear title and as I mentioned, it passed the emissions test. O, did I mention that BEFORE all that work, I DROVE the van all the way from Oklahoma! With all of the work done, it's in excellent condition. BTW, the van also has brackets for ladders on its roof. TRUCKMOUNT: Ok, as for the truckmount carpet cleaning machine, it's a Panther 14 with the Kohler motor. It has the recovery tank and filter. It comes with reel that holds a 100 foot hose and solution hose. It does not have a fresh water tank but you could easily mount one. The previous owner was using a hose to connect to faucets for fresh water. That hose is also included and reeled on the back door. Now, here is the condition of the machine. The person who sold it to me, was using it before he sold it. It was in complete working order and ready to go. Just to be sure, I made him start the machine and it started right up. However, it has been sitting and not used for nearly a year. I also do not know anything about truckmount carpet cleaning machines. I know a lot about air duct cleaning machines but nothing about truck mounts, including this one. I called the number on it & they were readily available & willing to guide me through its operation but ever since I decided to not do carpet cleaning, I really don't want to waste any time at all on the machine. I was told by the previous owner that not many hours are on it and I took a pic of that dial but again, I have no clue as to how any of it works and hesitate to even start it (I fear, like power washers, that unless u have water running through them, you could damage it?)... so until I am sure 100%, I left it in the same exact condition that I received it in, which was eye witnessing that it worked... ever since then, I just left it as-is & that's exactly how I am selling it... as-is. I guestimated that the machine, recovery tank and reel (with hoses) alone cost approximately $4000 (dismounted, since it would probably cost like $700 just to install these in any vehicle). The thing that the van needs is a door key. I only have the ignition key. It costs about $70 to make a door key by a lock smith. I drive the van on the average, once a week for 30 mins to make sure that it stays in good running order and the battery charged. The van with all the new parts & labor, has more value to me than would be listed in blue book. The van alone (without the truckmount & equipment) in my view should be worth at least $3000. With the truckmount & equipment, I thing it should list for $5000 to $6000. Anyhow, I kept the min. bid very low because I want to sell it fast without issues. You are more than welcome to check it out but it's a great van and thus being sold as-is. Good luck!!! One final thing. I am NOT a new ebay-er. I used to have an account with hundreds of transactions and rating over 98%. However, it's been like 2 years since I did any obeying and lost the old account. |

AWD turbodiesel Equinox, Terrain dropped for 2020
Thu, May 2 2019Citing low demand, General Motors is dropping the AWD diesel options off the Chevrolet Equinox and GMC Terrain roster. Chevrolet spokesman Kevin Kelly confirmed to CarsDirect that for 2020, the diesel versions of these SUVs will only be offered with front-wheel-drive. CarsDirect notes that with the AWD diesel Equinox and Terrain gone, the only AWD diesel option in this class is the Mazda CX-5 Skyactiv diesel, which is significantly more expensive: As the AWD diesel CX-5 is only available in a fully loaded Signature specification, the $42,045 price tag is almost $10k heftier than the cheapest comparable Equinox, the AWD 1.6-liter diesel LT which starts from $32,495. The 2019 GMC Terrain AWD SLE costs $34,795 in comparison, which works out to being around $7,200 cheaper than the Mazda. The higher trim levels for the Equinox and Terrain are Premier and SLT, respectively. Some reasoning behind the AWD diesel GM SUV's low uptake is their own price difference to base FWD gasoline models: you can get a 1.5-liter Equinox for less than §25,000 listed. While the 2.2-liter Mazda has plenty more power at 168 hp and 290 lb-ft, compared to 137hp and 240 lb-ft in the 1.6-liter GM SUVs, the Equinox and Terrain are notably more frugal – they are rated 32mpg combined, while the Mazda can manage 28 mpg. With better fuel economy and a significantly lower list price, the General Motors twins are at least more wallet-friendly when it comes to numbers, and as the vehicles will cease to be built in that configuration there's likely to be some cash on the hood on ones in stock. This is how GM is hiding new Chevy Volt in public
Wed, Oct 1 2014General Motors is letting the public know that, well, it's not about to let the public know anything else about the next-generation Chevrolet Volt. But the automaker is willing to talk about its camouflaging process for upcoming versions of the extended-range plug-in. So it's a half-hearted secret, at best. GM actually has a "camouflage engineer" charged with creating ways to disguise the styling of new vehicles. In the Volt's case, the company is applying black and white swirly color patterns on top of the materials, such as plastics, vinyl and foam, that are used liberally across the body. It's all part of a teaser campaign that started last month with pictures of part the 2016 Volt. Earlier this month, GM said it was keeping track of Volt drivers' habits as it works on the next-gen model. The company noted that more than four out of five trips are being made in all-electric driving mode, and that 60 percent of Volt owners use a plain-old 100-volt outlet to recharge their cars. The car is slated to make its global debut at Detroit's North American International Auto Show next January, and the early word is that performance and all-electric range will be improved (we should hope so). The car will also be sleeker. By how much, we can't tell yet, because of those darn swirly patterns. GM's got more non-details in its press release below. Engineers charged with hiding styling while vehicle testing proceeds in public DETROIT – The styling of the next-generation Chevrolet Volt is one of the automotive world's best-kept secrets. Keeping customers and media eager to see the successor to the groundbreaking original at bay until the new Volt debuts at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit in January is tricky business. First, it is engineers, not designers, who are charged with creating camouflage that balances styling secrecy with the need to validate the Volt and its systems in public. "If it were up to me it would be a shoebox driving down the road," said Lionel Perkins, GM camouflage engineer. "The design team wants us to cover more of the vehicle and the engineering team needs to have enough of the vehicle's weight and aero exposed so that the tests in the development process are consistent with the product that will come to market." The engineers responsible for the "cool" designs covering the car might deserve style points but their efforts are intended strictly to hide the metal beneath.
New Bright creating exclusive 1:8 scale radio-controlled C7 Corvette
Mon, 04 Feb 2013If you want a new 2014 Chevrolet Corvette but can't quite save up enough pennies for the monthly payment, we have good news for you. Toymaker New Bright has pulled the covers off of its 1:8 scale remote-controlled version of the American sports car. Complete with a very detailed interior and LED headlights, this large-scale R/C is as close as most of us will ever come to having one of the menacing Chevrolet models to call our very own. New Bright still hasn't released pricing or availability, but word has it the coupe should hit the market soon.
Right now, it appears as if the C7 will hit shelves in Torch Red, though we don't know if other colors are planned as well. The good news is that New Bright isn't exactly turning its back on the old C6 - representatives say the company will continue to make its popular C6R racecar for those who prefer round taillights.
