Good condition conversion, van runs and drives great, cold a/c, pw, pl, power mirrors, compass and temp in mirror, 2 keyless fobs, everything works.  There are some minor blemishes that I have tried to show in the pictures.  The only ones you would see at a glance are the 2 spots up on the raised roof, the bumper ding, and the paint on the front of the raised roof is faded out pretty good if you climb up and look but not that noticeable from walking around it (all pictured).  Front tires are half tread and back ones are not dangerous but will need replaced soon (about 2/32 to 4/32).  Inside the top of the dash on the right side is marred on the corner as pictured.  Carpet is good but not perfect with a few light spots and some variation in color and one burn mark about the size of a pencil eraser beside the driver seat (see pictures). One cup holder liner missing  and one ash tray missing the top lid (pictured).  No blinds on the 2nd row doors or back doors but the screw holes are there.  It is a nice van but I am trying to list all little things I see and you are welcome to come look for yourself too.  Email with any questions.  Thanks for looking.

C7 Corvette turbo with 1,000 horsepower promised from Hennessey

Mon, 25 Feb 2013

If you can't wait for the next-generation Chevrolet Corvette ZR1, Hennessey says they will have you covered. The Texas-based company has announced it will offer a spate of upgrades for the 2014 Corvette ranging from a range of bolt-on options all the way up to a 1,000-horsepower, twin-turbo system. Buyers can start with a cold air intake, cat-back exhaust or stainless steel long-tube headers, but Hennessey says it will also offer up three stages of forced induction mayhem should those bits and baubles not provide enough thrust.
Those choices start with a supercharger system good for up to 700 hp, though Hennessey will gladly ditch the blower in favor of two turbos. Doing so will spin the crank to the tune of 800 horsepower all the way up to a certifiably ludicrous 1,000 ponies. There's no word on how much these tricks will cost you - or when they will be available, as we're guessing they haven't gotten their hands on the car yet - but you can head over to the Hennessey site to drop them a line if you're curious.

Consumer Reports criticizes small turbo engines for misleading performance, fuel economy claims [w/video]

Tue, 05 Feb 2013

Consumer Reports has taken aim at at small-displacement, forced-induction engines, saying the powerplants don't manage to deliver on automaker fuel economy claims. Manufacturers have long held that smaller, turbocharged engines pack all power of their larger displacement cousins with significantly better fuel economy, but the research organization says that despite scoring high EPA economy numbers, the engines are no better than conventional drivetrains in both categories. Jake Fisher, director of automotive testing for Consumer Reports, says the forced induction options "are often slower and less fuel efficient than larger four and six-cylinder engines."
Specifically, CR calls out the new Ford Fusion equipped with the automaker's Ecoboost 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine. The institute's researchers found the engine, which is a $795 option over the base 2.5-liter four-cylinder, fails to match competitors in acceleration and served up 25 miles per gallon in testing, putting the sedan dead last among other midsize options.
The Chevrolet Cruze, Hyundai Sonata Turbo and Ford Escape 2.0T all got dinged for the same troubles, though Consumer Reports has found the turbo 2.0-liter four-cylinder in the BMW 328i does deliver on its promises. You can check out the full press release below. You can also read the full study on the Consumer Reports site, or scroll down for a short video recap.
