2012 Chevrolet Equinox Ls Sport Utility 4-door 2.4l One Owner Warranty! on 2040-cars
2012 Chevrolet Equinox LS. Used, one owner, non-smoker car. Purchased new a little over two years ago. Only reason for selling, is because my wife and I have two kids, and are about to gain custody of her sisters two kids as well, and we need a bigger vehicle. Car has been great, only had one small warranty issue that the dealership fixed. Some kind of engine sensor went bad. Has been serviced by the dealership since day one. A lifetime, full service plan was purchased with the vehicle, and I'll see if I can get the dealership to transfer that to the new owner. Does come with a membership card for free roadside assistance, towing, lockout, key replacement, and travel services.
All owners manuals are still in car, and both key/keyless entry fobs. Has three 12v power outlets, one in rear cargo area, one in center console, with stereo aux input, and on in the front console. Full driver information system, shows tire pressures, two trip odometers, average/instantaneous MPG, average speed, etc. Has bluetooth connectivity, hands-free calling, On-star, XM radio(Subscription is good for another 3 months at least) MP3/CD, AC blows cold, heat works great. Power windows/locks, drivers power seat. Rear seat slides forward, and folds down. Tons of cargo room in the back. Dealer installed floormats front and rear. Spare tire/jack/lug wrench have never been removed. Something under the spare still covered in bubble wrap. 2.4L ecotech motor, and 6spd auto transmission. Gets great fuel mileage, averages around 30-32 on the freeway, and 20-25 in town. Vehicle average says 24.4 right now, with 30 mph average speed. Great looking 17" wheels, with Michelin P225/65 Latitude tires. Plenty of tread left, always rotated on schedule by dealership. Car has never been in any sort of accident, and never had any major work done. The only real defects are small paint/body cosmetics. Pictures show the front end has a few paint nicks, and scuffs on the lower valence from parking curbs and such. The back of the center console shows some small scuffs, and the door panels have a few as well. I'm going to talk to the dealership tomorrow to see if the paint issues can be fixed under warranty, and to see if the service plan will transfer. I am also going to see if they will inspect it and give me some kind of "certified pre-owned" document, since I'm sure they would resell it as such if I traded it in to them. I will update this listing once I talk to them about the above items. The car is still under warranty. The basic warranty is 3yr/36,000 miles, and the powertrain is at least 5 years/100,000 miles. My dealership offers a lifetime powertrain warranty, but I will have to check with them to see if that transfers to a new owner. Motor Trend Equinox Warranty This page shows warranty coverage items. If there are any questions/comments or concerns, feel free to post them, and I will address them as soon as I can. |

Next Chevrolet Malibu to have 'groundbreaking,' 'passionate' design
Mon, Dec 29 2014In our First Drive of the Chevrolet Malibu after its redesign in 2013 we wrote, "Chevy has quickly worked up a host of changes for its ever-important midsize sedan, and will be launching this 'there, we fixed it' 2014 Malibu like it's an all-new product." Still, no one cared. The Malibu has been mentioned in eight posts this year, all but two of them dealt with recalls, and one of those two was about a 2011 Malibu university science project. It came up in precisely zero posts from November 2013 to March 2014. That's why, according to a report in Automotive News, Chevrolet honchos are "hustling" to have a new Malibu ready in a year. Mark Reuss, General Motors' head of global product development, said it will have "groundbreaking design" and "groundbreaking technology," and asked investors who were showed a picture of it, "When is the last time you saw a [midsize] car this distinctive and this dramatic from General Motors?" Doubling down on the bullishness, Reuss said, "We've got our act together here on the midsize-car segment." Then, throwing every last chip on the pile, global design head Ed Welburn said the next Malibu's design will "make a significant statement" with "a very passionate design." Based on the number of comments Malibu posts get, we figure a fair few number of you would love for this to be the case; yet this is a lot of braggadocio to slather on a car that probably hasn't made "a significant statement" since Elton John had a number one record with Honky Chateau. That was 1972, if you're trying to remember. No matter the looks, the AN report says the new 'Bu will make a profit statement, selling for more money while costing less to produce. Alongside the Cruze, GM figures the pair will bring in an extra $800 million in variable profit in 2016. Which, in case it ends up being another 'butterface,' isn't bad for a silver lining. Mark Reuss: GM can't afford product 'misses,' has 'thought about' CT6 V-Series
Thu, Apr 9 2015Mark Reuss is a busy man. He oversees General Motors' global product portfolio, an all-encompassing task for a company that sold more than 9.9 million cars and trucks last year. When GM launches a well-received product, like the road-going rocket ship that is the Chevrolet Corvette Z06 – he gets credit. When the company stumbles with the slow-selling Chevy Malibu or grapples with fallout from the decade-old Saturn Ion and its flawed ignition switch, he gets blamed. GM owners, the press and sometimes the federal government, demand answers. Bob Lutz famously held the job before Reuss. So did Mary Barra, who's now GM's chief executive. There's a New GM, but the lineage is connected to a long history. When he's not thinking product, Reuss, an executive vice president, also runs the purchasing and supply chain for the company, which is still one of the largest industrial empires in the world. We caught up with Reuss on the floor of the New York Auto Show, where GM had just rolled out two crucial new products: the 2016 Cadillac CT6 and the 2016 Chevrolet Malibu. Speaking with a small group of reporters, Reuss delved into a variety of subjects, including the new Malibu, Cadillac's future (he thinks the ATS-V is going to "flame the M3 and M4"), and other topics. On fixing the Malibu: "We can't miss. We can't have those kinds of misses [like the previous generation] on our cars and crossovers and trucks. We can't do that. If we do that, we give a reason for someone to go buy something else. It's that simple. "On a car like the Malibu we have a chance to really fix all of that, which we have, and then lead. Then you've got a real opportunity there. So that's what we've really been focused on here – to fix those things." He later added: "We need that car here to transform Chevrolet desperately because it's the heart of the market. And when you think of Chevrolet, people will come back and think about what we did with the [new] Malibu and the Cruze... It's hugely important to us." On Cadillac: "If we go out and try and out-German the Germans, it's probably not going to work. We've got an opportunity here generationally where there's a lot of people younger than me that have parents that drove BMWs and Mercedes, and I think there's an opportunity there for those people to drive something different than what their parents did, and I think that's always been an opportunity in the auto industry if you look at the history of it.
The Opel GT is the concept General Motors should build for the US
Sat, Feb 27 2016Now is the time. General Motors should double-down on performance cars and build the Opel GT concept that's set to debut next week at the Geneva Motor Show. Better yet, sell it in the United States as the Chevy GT. Consumers are showing a thirst for performance cars not seen in decades. Ford has them coming in waves, with everything from the F-150 Raptor to a hotted-up Fusion. FCA US is unrepentantly building loads of Hellcats. GM should respond. The General's cupboard is hardly bare. With the Corvette, Camaro, and Cadillac's V-Series, GM has more than enough to compete with its crosstown rivals and anything Europe or Japan can throw at it. But there's also an opportunity. There's not many front-mid-engine, rear-wheel-drive, two-seat sports cars out there like the Opel GT concept. A Chevy GT that used that layout and captured some of the concept car's proportions and curves would ignite a different kind of passion in enthusiasts. It would be Miata-like. With Chevy branding, this sports car would be the everyday exotic. The concept has a turbocharged 1.0-liter three-cylinder engine, which makes about 143 horsepower to motivate a structure that weighs less than 2,200 pounds. It can hit 60 miles per hour in less than eight seconds. All of those numbers are within the front-engined Miata's territory. This new Opel is inspired by two great mid-1960s concepts that helped put its design studio, and that of its sister brand, the British Vauxhall, on the map. (The GT concept is also technically a Vauxhall, as the brands are linked in GM's European strategy.) One of them, the '66 Vauxhall XVR remained a concept. The '65 Opel Experimental GT was on the road by 1968. That shows this is doable. There's precedent. The Saturn Sky and Pontiac Solstice shared a chassis with a modern GT during that trio's brief run. If GM ever makes this concept, Opel and Vauxhall should get their versions. But Chevy is the one that could make this car a global icon. Chevrolet GT. Make it happen. News & Analysis News: The potential return of the Ford Bronco is generating a ton of attention. Analysis: That's not news, per se. But when the Bronco6G.com fan site did a rendering of a next-generation Bronco, it almost broke the Internet. Everyone from Automotive News to Jalopnik picked up the illustrations. Our own post has drawn a lot of traffic and passionate responses. People are clamoring for the Bronco's return.
