I am selling a 1986 GMC Caballero Amarillo (El Camino). When I purchased the vehicle, it was a one owner car from an estate sale, where the original owner had passed away. I have a copy of the death certificate that was needed to get the new title on the vehicle. It has only 67,000 miles, and has never been smoked in. This is a very rare find! The car is completely original except for a properly installed CD player (still has the original A/M radio to put back in, if preferred). It has an automatic transmission, power steering and brakes, tilt wheel, cruise control, and ever so important, air conditioning that still works. It has the original build sheet, and the owner's manual still with it. This is the one you are always looking for, but hardly ever find!! It still has a lot of the original paint on it, but has had a couple of panels repainted on it, but they match up nicely. The interior is just like new. The car runs and drives the very best, without even so much as a rattle going down the road, or over a bump or railroad tracks. You would really have to drive it to appreciate what I am describing. If you are looking for a nice, clean, well taken care of El Camino, this is the one! The tilt steering wheel is as tight as it was when new when you move the steering wheel into the position that you desire. Things like that are just so uncommon in a vehicle of that age. Like I said, it has a lot of the original paint still, so there are a few little imperfections in the paint, and a few little surface rust spots starting to show, but they do not detract from the beauty of the originality of the truck. The body parts all fit perfectly. It only has a couple of parking lot dings that are barely noticeable (just want to be honest). You really have to look close to see them. The bed of the truck is excellent. It has never been used for hauling, and the paint in the bed is all original. This is a must see vehicle to appreciate the originality and the condition without having been restored!! When you drive it, you will not be disappointed. It is tight and smooth. You can certainly tell the miles are right, and how it has been taken care of. You will not drive one that will drive any better than this one!!! If you have any questions, or to set up an appointment to see it, you may call or text me @ 812 499-0694. It is available to be viewed PRIOR to bidding. If you are the lucky winning bidder, I will need a non refundable $500.00 deposit within 48 hours of the auction end, and the remainder of the payment within 7 days of the auction end. The payment needs to be in the form of cash, cashier's check, or bank transfer. The vehicle and title will only be released once the funds have cleared. I also reserve the right to end the auction at any time. Good luck, and happy bidding. THIS IS THE ONE YOU ARE LOOKING FOR!! It will be a great addition for any collector!

Experimental mid-engine XP-819 Corvette going up for auction
Sun, 17 Feb 2013It seems to be commonplace that when a new Corvette is in development, rumors swirl about a possible mid-engine layout. As is the case of Chevy's most recent C7 Corvette, these rumors never pan out.
In any case, the idea for a 'Vette with an engine mounted behind the driver can probably all be traced back to a single car, the 1964 XP-819 prototype. Built as an "engineering exercise" back in 1964, the prototype was designed with a rear-mounted engine. History tells us that the idea of a rear-engine Corvette fizzled, and the XP-819 was eventually cut up into pieces and stored at a shop in Daytona Beach, FL.
After sitting for untold years, a restoration project started on the car, and while it isn't yet fully completed, the current owner of the car, Mid America Motorworks, will have the car on display at the 2013 Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance as a "driveable chassis" with hopes of having a fully completed car ready to bring to next year's show.
Sunday Drive: Trucks and SUVs of all shapes and sizes
Sun, Nov 5 2017The American automotive marketplace is dominated by trucks and SUVs, and so was the last week of coverage on Autoblog. By far, the most popular story of the week was our First Drive of the 2018 Lincoln Navigator. It may look like an old-school lumberer, but in reality Lincoln's flagship is a thoroughly modern, turbocharged-V6-powered, three-row, luxury people mover. The Jeep Wrangler is the world's most recognizable vehicle. So it's no surprise that the next version looks a whole heck of a lot like the last one, and the one before. It's all in the details, which is why we were so excited when Jeep decided to unleash a trio of images showing both two- and four-door Wranglers for us to dissect ahead of the SUV's official debut at the L.A. Auto Show later this year. Past that, spy photos of the next Chevy Silverado and Ram 1500 were predictably popular. See both of those below, and the cap it all off, check out the entire week's worth of SEMA coverage – including the bonkers Hennessey VelociRaptor 6x6 – in our mega image gallery at the bottom of this post. Enjoy! As always, tune in to Autoblog next week for a front-row seat to all the happenings worth following in the automotive industry. 2018 Lincoln Navigator First Drive | From black sheep to flagship 2018 Jeep Wrangler revealed: First photos released before L.A. Steve McQueen's last movie car, now Pawn Stars-owned, up for auction [w/video]
Sun, 03 Feb 2013The last car Steve McQueen ever drove in a movie is officially up for auction. The 1951 Chevrolet Styline DeLuxe Convertible you see above is now owned by none other than Rick Harrison of Pawn Stars fame, but once ferried McQueen around the set of his last film, 1980's The Hunter. That flick saw the Bullit star play a bumbling bounty hunter and didn't exactly set the box office on fire. McQueen bought the car after production wrapped, and four years later it sold at his estate sale at the Imperial Palace in Las Vegas.
Flash forward to 2003, and the convertible received a full restoration back to near-stock specifications. Hagerty Insurance estimates the car to be worth around $45,000 without the significant providence. Given its ties to one of film's most popular gearheads, the old Chevrolet could fetch up to 10 times that when it goes under the gavel in Ft Luaderdale, Florida on March 22. You can head over to the Auctions America site for more information. You can also check out the trailer for The Hunter below.
