1985 El Camino Conquista on 2040-cars
New Oxford, Pennsylvania, United States
Has tilt wheel, power brakes & steering, new battery, new 2 1/2" exhaust system, 600 CFM Edelbrock carb, door & window rubber seals & outer window sweeps plus many smaller parts. Truck is a good project vehicle and it does need work. The A/C and cruise are inop because the underdash wiring needs sorting and the A/C needs charging. The interior has the typical wear for an older vehicle. I bought the vehicle as a project, investing $8000, but have since been diagnosed with cancer and don't have the energy to finish. The body is in good shape (originally from Texas) & has been repainted. Tires are legal and mechanically it has new brakes and shocks. The engine has been swapped for a 350ci, has headers and runs good with good oil pressure and no smoke. Vehicle drives good with the customary squeaks and rattles for a truck 29 yeas old. I also am including 2 repair manuals and any extra parts. The ECM has been eliminated as have the CAT converters so I licensed it as an antique so it doesn't have emissions test. It also has a trailer hitch and after market Am/FM radio (works). Vehicle sells with no reserve--bid to own it. On Apr-18-14 at 23:40:13 PDT, seller added the following information: AS YOU CAN SEE, I HAVE AN OFFER OF $2900 FOR MY TRUCK. HOWEVER, I CAN NOT, WITHOUT FEELING GUILTY, ACCEPT THAT OFFER. I HAVE SPENT MY LIFE TRYING NOT TO CHEAT MY FELLOW MAN, AND I NOT TO START NOW AT 67 YEARS OLD. THE TRUTH IS THE TRUCK IS NOT WORTH THAT MUCH BECAUSE IT NEEDS MORE WORK AND MONEY SPENT THAN IT APPEARS IN THE PICTURES. THE FACTS ARE THAT I GOT CHEATED WHEN I PURCHASED IT. WHEN I BOUGHT IT, I PAID $6300 + $700 SHIPPING FROM TEXAS AND I HAVE SPENT ABOUT $1000 SINCE ON PARTS BECAUSE I TRUSTED THE GUY AND DIDN'T SEE IT FIRST. TO MAKE THE VEHICLE RIGHT, ONE SHOULD SPEND ABOUT $2000 FOR NEW SEAT COVERING, CARPETS, SORT OUT OR REPLACE UNDER DASH WIRING, GET THE A/C & CRUISE WORKING, TOUCHUP BODY AND VARIOUS OTHER ODDS AND ENDS. AT THAT POINT YOU WOULD HAVE A GREAT LITTLE TRUCK WORTH AROUND $7000 to $8000. THE TRUCK DOES RUN & SHIFTS GOOD AND THE PREVIOUS OWNER CLAIMS IT HAS NEW BRAKES, SHOCKS , ALL A/C COMPONETS, EXHAUST,ETC. BUT I DON'T KNOW..I DID PUT IN NEW WINDOW & DOOR SEALS, OUTER WINDOW SWEEPS, BATTERY AND A BUNCH OF SMALLER PARTS(WINDOW CRANK, DOOR HANDLE, VARIOUS LIGHT LENS & BULBS, ETC.) THE FIRST PERSON WHO PAYPALS ME $2150( TO COVER $2000 FOR THE TRUCK & $150 FOR EBAY & PAYPAL FEES) WILL OWN IT AND I WILL THROW IN A BRAND NEW A/C RECHARGE GAUGE SET, VACUUM PUMP, SEAL KIT & RECHARGE GAS KIT I PURCHASED FOR $200 I DON'T THINK I CAN BE ANY MORE FAIR TO YOU GUYS THAN THAT. ANY QUESTIONS, CALL ME AT 717-624-2020 OR 717-451-9354 THANKS AND HAVE A GREAT EASTER, LARRY On Apr-18-14 at 23:47:29 PDT, seller added the following information: ALSO, I FORGOT TO MENTION, I THINK THE TRANS FRONT SEAL IS LEAKING. On Apr-19-14 at 00:55:00 PDT, seller added the following information: I ALSO FORGOT TO MENTION I DID PUT ON A NEW ELDELBROCK 600CFM CARB-$300 On Apr-19-14 at 01:01:01 PDT, seller added the following information: ALSO, THERMOSTAT, GOOSE NECK & ANTIFREEZE On Apr-19-14 at 01:29:37 PDT, seller added the following information: I ADDED WRONG, THE PRICE WILL BE $2215.43, I FORGOT TO ADD IN PAYPAL FEES. Is Buick's surprise Detroit concept a Camaro-sized coupe?
Sun, Jan 10 2016Tomorrow night marks the unofficial start of the 2016 Detroit Auto Show. Keep your eyes peeled for a number of reveals, including a surprise debut from Buick. Yes, Buick. And we think it's going to be something really hot. According to a report from Bloomberg, the Tri-Shield's secret car could be a Camaro-sized sport coupe concept. As Bloomberg explains, it'd certainly gel with the impression the company is trying to put out – that it's no longer a brand for those with one foot in the grave. Introducing a sports coupe, even as a concept, could certainly reinforce that message. And if it happens to make production – which is not a certainty, Bloomberg's secret source says – it could certainly help Buick drive its average buyer age down from 59. Bloomberg doesn't offer any speculation on Buick's new coupe, but we have no problem making educated guesses. Our most reliable conjecture is this: it will ride on General Motors' Alpha platform, which underpins both the Camaro and the Cadillac ATS. And with a certain twin-turbocharged V6 in the GM stable, we've got an idea of what kind of engine could be shown. That speculation will have to suffice for now. But don't worry, we'll have official details, live images, and video tomorrow when Buick unveils its new concept in Detroit's Eastern Market.
VW, Rivian, Nissan, BMW, Genesis, Audi and Volvo lose EV tax credits starting tomorrow
Mon, Apr 17 2023The U.S. Treasury said Monday that Volkswagen, BMW, Nissan, Rivian, Hyundai and Volvo electric vehicles will lose access to a $7,500 tax credit under new battery sourcing rules. The Treasury said the new requirements effective Tuesday will also cut by half credits for the Tesla Model 3 Standard Range Rear Wheel Drive to $3,750 but other Tesla models will retain the full $7,500 credit. Vehicles losing credits Tuesday are the BMW 330e, BMW X5 xDrive45e, Genesis Electrified GV70, Nissan Leaf , Rivian R1S and R1T, Volkswagen ID.4 as well as the plug-in hybrid electric Audi Q5 TFSI e Quattro and plug-in hybrid (PHEV) electric Volvo S60. The Swedish carmaker is 82%-owned by China’s Zhejiang Geely Holding Group. The rules are aimed at weaning the United States off dependence on China for EV battery supply chains and are part of President Joe Biden's effort to make 50% of U.S. new vehicle sales by 2030 EVs or PHEVs. Hyundai said in a statement it was committed to its long-range EV plans and that it "will utilize key provisions in the Inflation Reduction Act to accelerate the transition to electrification." Rivian declined to comment and the other automakers could not immediately be reached for comment. Treasury also disclosed General Motors electric Chevrolet Bolt and Bolt EUV will qualify for the full $7,500 tax credit. GM said earlier it expected at least some of its EVS would qualify for the $7,500 tax credit under the new rules, including the 2023 Cadillac Lyriq and forthcoming Chevrolet Equinox EV SUV and Blazer EV SUV. Treasury said all GM EVs will qualify. Earlier, Ford Motor and Chrysler-parent Stellantis said most of their electric and PHEV models would see tax credits halved to $3,750 on April 18. Treasury confirmed the automakers' calculations. The rules were announced last month and mandated by Congress in August as part of the $430 billion Inflation Reduction Act (IRA). The IRA requires 50% of the value of battery components be produced or assembled in North America to qualify for $3,750, and 40% of the value of critical minerals sourced from the United States or a free trade partner for a $3,750 credit. The law required vehicles to be assembled in North America to qualify for any tax credits, which in August eliminated nearly 70% of eligible models and on Jan. 1 new price caps and limits on buyers income took effect.
Next Chevy Silverado could get this built-in tailgate step
Thu, Feb 2 2017General Motors just received patent approval for a tailgate step in a pickup bed. And given the timing, don't be surprised if you see this on the upcoming 2019 Silverado pickup (not the mention its GMC Sierra twin), expected to arrive in late 2018. According to the patent, granted in December of last year, the whole mechanism is housed in the tailgate assemble. The magic happens when a portion of the top half of the tailgate swings down and a step folds out. There's also a handle that locks into position to help climb up into the bed. As trucks get bigger and taller over the years, it gets harder and harder to access the cargo bed. Ford's solution with the 2009 F-150 was a step that slides out from the end of the tailgate. Back then, Chevy made an ill-advised ad highlighting the feature for Ford. And while Howie Long mocked the F-150's "man step" Ford saw almost a third of its trucks with the option in the first year. The GM design seems to improve on Ford's idea as it appears to be wider and has a back to the lower step. That is, you don't have to worry about stepping through the ladder-rung design as on the F-150. Ford's tailgate step later spread to the F Super Duty, and other cargo access assists have proliferated through the truck world. On the most recent redesign, the Chevrolet Silverado took a trick from the Avalanche and added cutouts to the corners of the rear bumper that act as a foothold. Ford also offers a deployable side step, Chevrolet has running boards that scoot rearward with a kick of the boot, and Ram offers fixed wheel-to-wheel side rails. Nissan is in on the game too, with an optional folding step that tucks under the rear bumper. We don't expect Chevrolet to comment on when or if we'll see this feature in the showrooms. But given that engineers are already hard at work on the next Silverado and the timing of this patent lines right up with the new truck's development cycle, we'll be disappointed if this patent stays in the file cabinet.
