1982 Chevy El Camino Custom Paint And Interior, A Show Car Winner on 2040-cars
Athens, Alabama, United States
This El Camino spent most of the past 32 years in Nevada, the body is rust free and in exceptional condition for a 32 year old car. The engine runs fine for a 305, but if your looking for a race car, this is not the vehicle for you. Also, if your state requires emission testing; (ie: Texas) there are some emission controls that have been removed or disconnected for performance reasons. These controls, hoses and tubings will not be included in the sale. Overall this car is a real headturner with the 20 inch chrome wheels and wide low profile tires and the very special deep bubble gum color that some call pink. The white and pink matching interior includes also customized leather buckets, (driver side is power) and the leather wrapped white dash. The white canvas bed cover with the pink Chevy bow-tie tops off the overall exceptional look of the car. If the magenta color is acceptable, then you will really love the added bling pink acryllic rhinestones on the door handles and rear cover buttons. The car comes equipped with PS, PB, Power door locks and windows, keyless entry and alarm, Air conditioning and AM/FM/CD. New window and door seals have been installed and the AC system has a new compressor. The only inop gauges are the gas level gauge and clock. The car has some minor scratches and dings here and there and it certainly is not being sold as if the car's paint was in perfect condition; if it were the reserve price would be doubled what it is. I have a clear title with no lien. Buyer agrees to pay for this vehicle in Full before it and the title will be released. Cash or Wire Transfer accepted only. Cashier’s Check accepted if allowed to clear the orginating bank before I will release the vehicle. I require a $500 Non-Refundable Good Faith Deposit (No Exceptions!). It is due within 24 hours after the close of the auction. The remaining balance must be paid within seven (7) days from the close of the auction - even if you plan to pick up the car at a later date. No Exceptions. I will not accept Escrow or PayPal for the remaining balance. I feel I have priced this car for a no hassle sale so only bid if you agree with all the terms and conditions. Bid to own!!! Any form of Negotiating after the auction ends will Not be tolerated. Winning the auction is not an invitation to inspect the car and think about buying. Winning the auction means you purchased the car for the full auction price, no exceptions. If you would like to view or inspect the car, you must do so before winning the auction. No inspections will be allowed after the close of the auction. It is the responsibility of the buyer to pickup the vehicle or to have it shipped within 7 days and after funds are received. GM files for Z71 Trail Boss trademark
Mon, Jan 26 2015Try as they might to keep their plans a secret, automakers have their hands tipped through a variety of methods – be they through loose lips, spy shots or patent and trademark applications. That's how we know, in this instance, that General Motors is working on (or at least considering) an off-road machine wearing the name Z71 Trail Boss – the name which our compatriots at AutoGuide.com tell us that GM has registered for use on light-duty trucks. Now if that alphanumeric designator sounds familiar, it should. GM has long used it to designate the off-road packages on many of its body-on-frame trucks from Chevy and GMC. These days you can order a Z71 package on the Chevy Colorado, Silverado, Tahoe and Suburban and on the GMC Canyon, Sierra and Yukon. The package typically includes components like a beefed-up suspension bits, high-capacity air cleaner and underbody protection plates. The Trail Boss designator would seem to suggest something further reaching than a suspension package, though. Just what it would entail we don't know; minds immediately start running toward Chevy or GMC going after the Ford F-150 Raptor, but we'll likely be looking at something closer to the Trailhawk packages Jeep offers on the likes of the Renegade and Cherokee. Junkyard Gem: 2005 Chevrolet Aveo LS Sedan
Sun, Jun 14 2020The story of Daewoo in North America took some interesting plot turns over the decades. First we had the 1988-1993 Pontiac LeMans, a rebadged Daewoo LeMans. A bit later, Daewoo began selling cars under its own nameplate here, with the Lanos, Nubira, and Leganza available for the 1999-2002 model years. Then Daewoo fled the continent and left warranty service of those cars in the hands of Manny, Moe, and Jack. With GM taking over Daewoo Motors after Daewoo's bankruptcy, we got some Daewoos with Suzuki badges here— the Verona and the Reno— while Chevrolet began selling the South Korean-built Daewoo Kalos as the Aveo for the 2004 model year. This car may not be a gem in the sense that you would want to own one, but it's a gem of automotive history and thus deserves its place in this series (especially because it's one of the rare 5-speed cars sold here). Many (maybe even most) of these cars ended up in the hands of rental-car companies and other fleet users, but we can tell from the three-pedal setup that this car went to a non-fleet buyer. We've had a couple of these cars compete in the 24 Hours of Lemons, where I work as a dignified and respected race official, and they've been amazingly quick on a road course in the hands of good drivers. Power came from this 103-horsepower Opel-designed four displacing 1.6 liters. The Nubira and Lanos got versions of this engine on these shores, too. The LS was the top trim level for the Aveo in 2004, so this car got air conditioning and a halfway decent audio system (by 2004 standards). The seat fabric is industrial-grade stuff, which would have held up well under the steady drip and/or torrents of bodily fluids coating the interiors of rental cars. The 2004 Aveo LS started at $12,045, which comes to about $16,675 in 2020 dollars, so it was a lot of commuter-appliance for the price. The following generation of this car became the Chevrolet Sonic, beginning with the 2012 model year. You can still buy a new Sonic, and the inflation-adjusted price is nearly identical to that of the original AveoÂ… though you might want to move fast if you really want one, because Daewoo stopped selling the Kalos in South Korea not long ago. If you want the rarest member of the Aveo family available in North America, find yourself a hen's-teeth Pontiac G3, the short-lived Pontiac-badged version. Speaking of the G3, here's the way it broke the hearts of gas pumps around the world.
MotorWeek looks back at 1995 Chevy Tahoe, GMC Yukon
Sat, Jun 20 2015MotorWeek's Retro Review series gives us a nostalgic look back at some of the best sports cars and luxury sedans available in the 1980s and '90s. For its latest clip, the show shifts gears to remember the 1995 Chevrolet Tahoe and GMC Yukon. Similar to the success of crossovers today, SUVs were tallying big sales and making big money for automakers in the mid-'90s. The Tahoe and Yukon filled slots in the market as steps down from the larger Suburban. These twins weren't wanting for space, though, with plenty of room to haul around a family. MotorWeek came away generally impressed too, and called the models some "of the better riding sport utilities we've ever experienced." This review comes with some jazzy, electric guitar licks to enjoy in the background.
