Good day, here we have is a custom 82 El Camino that I own for about 10 yrs but have to sell. I have 3 kids now and cant fit them all in the beast of a car/truck. This El Camino has only the best stuff as follows:

Body: The paint is about 2 years old, garage keep but has its flaws as seen in the pictures. All body was blocked for a mirror finish as you could tell by the pictures, the front fenders were extended by 1" and the rears by 2" to fit the wide wheels with no problem. The door handles were shaved and 35lbs poppers were installed to be open by remote, the tailgate license plat was welded and smooth and added custom L.E.D lights as you could see in the pictures. Note on the roof by the trim it looks as if the paint is coming off, but really is not, the painter masked the area wrong and didn't realize it until after it was done. It was cleared over so its smooth. See picture not bad I would rate the paint is a 9-10 considering it to be 2 years old.

Suspension: Hotchikis springs all the way around, Bilstin shocks all the way around, UMI rear upper adjustable control arms, UMI rear lower tubular control arms, Rear UMI sway bar, Edelbrok anti hop bars, 10 bolt 8.5 Grand National Posi Rear End with 3.73 gears, Front Upper Tubular Control Arms Made by Global West. BMR front sway bar

Engine and Tranny: The engine is a 383 stroker that has 11.5 compression with AFR Aluminum 195CC Eliminator Heads, I-beams Rods, Probe Forge Pistons, Scat Crank, Isky Hydrolic Roller Cam with Custom Grind Duration is 260 @ 50 cam lift is .401 and valve lift is .601, 1.6 Roller Rockers, Victor Jr. Intake, Speed Demon 750 DP Carb, Custom Headers and Magnaflow exuast with 3"- 2.5" out the back. Tranny is a 700R4 with a 10" 3000 stall. Double Pass Aluminum Radiator with dual electric fans. MSD 6A and MSD Billet Distributor. No A/C

Wheels and Brakes: The wheels are fully polished 20" Staggered VISTA II made by INTRO WHEELS. The wheels alone were $3,200 new, Front is 245-35-20 Rear 275-30-20. Brakes are 12" slotted and vented all the way around with Wilwood Calipers in the front. Also I just added a custom Hydro-boost system to have more stopping power.

Interior: I would say the interior is a 9 out of 10 with minor imperfections as you could see in the pictures. Seats, Door Panels and Dash was wrapped with the same material as BMW use for there cars, new carpet, and sued headliner. As you could see I added all AUTOMETER GAUGES.  Also I will include a pair of speaker pods with 6.5" speakers that are mounted by the kick panels that i didn't install. B&M Pro Ratchet Shifter and Engine Push Button Start extra feature.

ALSO THE CAR HAS A SET OF 8K HID KIT AND BRAND NEW YELLOW TOP OPTIMA BATTERY

The only thing that is not working are the windshield wiper after the car was re-wired the windshield wipers were disconnected DONT KNOW WHY but it really didn't matter to me because  I never drove the car in the rain.

NO SOUND SYSTEM, SORRY. IF YOU BUY IT NOW, ILL THROUGH IN 2 12" JL Audio W6 SPEAKERS ALONG WITH THE BOXES MADE FOR EL CAMINO, 2 ROCKFORD FOSGATE 6X9 W/ BOXES 2 OLD SCHOOL ROCKFORD AMPS AND A PAIR OF FRONT TUBULAR LOWER CONTROL ARMS THAT I DIDN'T INSTALL.  ANY OTHER QUESTIONS PLEASE CALL ME 323-228-4503, THIS CAR IS A BEAST AND RELIABLE.

New Takata problem results in recall of 414 GM vehicles

Mon, Oct 19 2015

An airbag-inflator rupture discovered by Takata during testing has resulted in a new recall affecting 414 vehicles from General Motors, including 395 of them in the US. This latest campaign covers 2015 model-year examples of the Buick LaCrosse, Cadillac XTS, Chevrolet Camaro, Equinox, Malibu, and GMC Terrain. There are no reported breaks in any of these vehicles on the road, and the company estimates only one percent of them actually have the faulty parts. According to documents submitted to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (as a PDF), one side-airbag inflator failed a cold test at -40 Fahrenheit "releasing high pressure gas and propelling the separated components apart." The supplier told GM about the failure the next day. In these vehicles, the safety device might not only burst but the bag could inflate incorrectly, as well. GM and Takata say that a cause is not yet known, but they are "conducting an investigation." GM will begin notifying affected owners via overnight mail on Oct. 19. Dealers will replace the side airbag modules on all of the affected vehicles with new components outside of the suspect lot. All of the removed parts will also be collected for further study. Takata's faulty front airbag inflators have resulted in a serious scandal for the supplier. Initial figures indicated 34 million US vehicles are need of repair, though more recent figures have knocked that down to 23.4 million bad parts in 19.2 million automobiles. GM was already among the dozen automakers with models to fix, and some of its pickups were affected, along with the Saab 9-2X and Pontiac Vibe. GM Statement: General Motors is recalling 395 cars and crossovers in the U.S. because one of the front seat side air bags inflators may be defective. In the event of a deployment, the air bag's inflator may rupture and the air bag may not properly inflate. The rupture could cause metal fragments to strike the vehicle occupants, potentially resulting in serious injury or death. GM is unaware of any incidents involving vehicles with these components, which were part of a lot in which one inflator failed acceptance testing at the supplier. Dealers will replace the side air bag module or modules in affected vehicles. Including Canada, Mexico and exports, the total population of the recall is 414, GM estimates 1 percent of the recalled vehicles may have the defect.

Cadillac CT6 production ceases January 2020 as part of D-Ham layoffs

Fri, Dec 6 2019

General Motors filed paperwork under the Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act with Michigan's Department of Labor and Economic Opportunity this week, detailing events to come at the automaker's Detroit-Hamtramck Assembly Plant. Starting February 28, 814 salaried and hourly workers at D-Ham, as its called, will be laid off. The 753 workers represented by the UAW will begin receiving offers in January to relocate to facilities in Michigan and Ohio, or buyout offers. As the 4-million-square-foot plant winds down through April 3 to a skeleton crew, the Cadillac CT6 ceases production in January 2020, and the last Chevrolet Impala comes off the line on February 28. The loss of the CT6 represents the end of Cadillac's latest brief, and highly regarded, adventure into flagship sedans. It might also mean the end of the 4.2-liter Blackwing twin-turbo V8 engine, at least for the moment. Both casualties are calamities. The death of the Impala closes the door on a nameplate in production for 52 years since 1957, having started off as a top-tier trim for the 1958 Bel Air known as the Bel Air Impala, once advertised with the line, "Lets you know you're the boss." As part of the new four-year labor agreement with the UAW, GM is keeping D-Ham open to build a new line of battery-electric vehicles, ultimately investing $3 billion and tripling employment to 2,225 workers when fully operational. The agreement described the coming EV as a "van" that would commence production in late 2021, but various reports say what's actually coming is a range of premium EVs in pickup and SUV bodystyles under the program codename BT1. The easy predictions put an electric GMC Sierra and Cadillac Escalade among the EV fold, but not until 2023, according to auto industry forecaster LMC Automotive. Before that, LMC claims an electric van will debut in late 2021, along with a battery-powered rebirth of the Hummer brand in pickup and SUV forms, also in late 2021.

A car writer's year in new vehicles [w/video]

Thu, Dec 18 2014

Christmas is only a week away. The New Year is just around the corner. As 2014 draws to a close, I'm not the only one taking stock of the year that's we're almost shut of. Depending on who you are or what you do, the end of the year can bring to mind tax bills, school semesters or scheduling dental appointments. For me, for the last eight or nine years, at least a small part of this transitory time is occupied with recalling the cars I've driven over the preceding 12 months. Since I started writing about and reviewing cars in 2006, I've done an uneven job of tracking every vehicle I've been in, each year. Last year I made a resolution to be better about it, and the result is a spreadsheet with model names, dates, notes and some basic facts and figures. Armed with this basic data and a yen for year-end stories, I figured it would be interesting to parse the figures and quantify my year in cars in a way I'd never done before. The results are, well, they're a little bizarre, honestly. And I think they'll affect how I approach this gig in 2015. {C} My tally for the year is 68 cars, as of this writing. Before the calendar flips to 2015 it'll be as high as 73. Let me give you a tiny bit of background about how automotive journalists typically get cars to test. There are basically two pools of vehicles I drive on a regular basis: media fleet vehicles and those available on "first drive" programs. The latter group is pretty self-explanatory. Journalists are gathered in one location (sometimes local, sometimes far-flung) with a new model(s), there's usually a day of driving, then we report back to you with our impressions. Media fleet vehicles are different. These are distributed to publications and individual journalists far and wide, and the test period goes from a few days to a week or more. Whereas first drives almost always result in a piece of review content, fleet loans only sometimes do. Other times they serve to give context about brands, segments, technology and the like, to editors and writers. So, adding up the loans I've had out of the press fleet and things I've driven at events, my tally for the year is 68 cars, as of this writing. Before the calendar flips to 2015, it'll be as high as 73. At one of the buff books like Car and Driver or Motor Trend, reviewers might rotate through five cars a week, or more. I know that number sounds high, but as best I can tell, it's pretty average for the full-time professionals in this business.
