1982 Chevrolet El Camino. Nice Car! Runs Great! on 2040-cars
Lebanon, Ohio, United States
Up for auction: A nice looking 1982 Chevrolet El Camino with the Conquista trim package. It has 167,500 original miles. I am the third owner having purchased from the second owner’s widow. It was used as a weekend cruiser before his passing. The car appears to have been re-sprayed at some point with the two tone dark blue metallic and silver paint. Sadly the paint is beginning to chip in some places like around the hood cowl, door handles and license plate. This was a non smoking vehicle and the interior is nice for a car its age beside a bleach mark in the center of the carpet and split in the center of dashboard. Engine is the standard 305 C.I. 5.0L V-8 with an newer Edelbrock 1406 performer series carb and three speed automatic transmission that shifts nice and smooth. It runs and shifts GREAT! American Racing wheels have some corrosion but still have a nice shine. The front tires have about 55% tread left and the rear tires have about 50% tread left. Vehicle gets about 14 mpg and rides smooth. The car does have a few minor issues. It has power windows and locks but the locks do not work and
you need to use the key. (Perhaps a bad switch) It has seen Good luck and happy bidding! |

GM warning 800,000 owners that their cars may need oil changes more frequently than they say
Fri, 05 Apr 2013The days of changing your engine oil every 3,000 miles are long gone thanks to most cars having automatic oil monitoring systems, but about 800,000 General Motors vehicles apparently have incorrect monitoring software that is leading to premature engine component wear. According to Autoweek, certain 2010-2012 Buick LaCrosse, Regal, Chevrolet Equinox and GMC Terrain models equipped with 2.4-liter four-cylinder engines could be going too long in between oil changes resulting in a higher-than-normal number of warranty claims for the engine's balance chain. The balance chain links the balance shaft to the crankshaft, and a worn one can produce higher noise levels.
As a fix, GM dealers will be reprogramming the software for the monitors in an effort to reduce the interval between oil changes, which varies based on driving habits and conditions. Through February 2015, the software update will be done at no cost to vehicle owners, but since this is not a recall, after that point, it will be up to the discretion of dealers as to whether or not they will charge for the service. What isn't immediately clear is whether GM plans on giving assistance to out-of-warranty customers who are experiencing engine issues from the worn chain.
First 2015 Chevy Corvette Z06 Sells For One Million Dollars
Mon, Apr 14 2014NASCAR team owner Rick Hendrick loves buying first-built Chevrolet models for charity. He paid $1 million to buy the first production 2014 Corvette Stingray Convertible and $650,000 to get the first 2014 Chevy Camaro Z/28. Hendrick's latest purchase happened at the Barrett-Jackson auction in Palm Beach where he got into a bidding war to pay $1 million to get the first 2015 Corvette Z06. The bidding came quick with the car reaching $100,000 within 3 seconds and hitting $500,000 in about 35 seconds. The money from the sale was donated to the Karmanos Cancer Institute.
