Here we have a good looking and running 1981 Chevy El Camino. It runs and drives great. It has a Vortec 350 engine connected to a 350 transmission. It''s a real EYE CATCHER!! Here is a list of things it has had done recently:
NEW 2 TONE PAINT (BLUE AND WHITE) NEW TIRES AND WHEELS (MAKES THE CAR SHARP) NEW BRAKES ON FRONT (DISC) STEEL COWL HOOD NEW SHOCKS The body is straight and solid. The pans are good ( passenger pan was replaced ) as is the whole undercarriage. The bed has a rubber mat to protect it. The interior seats are nice as is door panels but needs speakers put back in on both sides. The dash has a few cracks but looks decent. This is a air condition car and all it needs to work is a new evaporator. (Has a leak) Just put on compressor and brackets. This is a good driver that you can go to cruise in''s and shows and get plenty of attention. I have more pics if anyone wants to see more than the 24 Ebay allows. This El Camino is also For Sale locally and on other sites so auction could end early. It is being sold AS IS with no warranty given or implied in anyway. 2015 Chevrolet Cruze spied on its home turf
Tue, 23 Apr 2013The next Chevrolet Cruze isn't set to go into production for about another year, and we're just now seeing prototypes of the new compact running around here in the States. Not much more has been revealed since we saw the car blasting through the snow in Europe, but we can still clearly see new design elements like the larger grille, slimmer headlamps and redesigned taillamps.
Our spy photographers worked up a composite image of this Cruze prototype alongside the current model, and here, we can clearly see some big visual changes are in store for the new model. The 2015 Cruze's hood slopes downward more dramatically, the windshield is more heavily raked, and the roofline looks more fluid overall. The next-generation Cruze will ride on the new global Delta platform that will also underpin other General Motors vehicles like the Chevrolet Volt and Equinox.
As for what's under the hood, we expect the normal range of gasoline four-cylinder engines (both naturally aspirated and turbocharged), and the compact's new turbodiesel four should carry over, as well. Have a look at the full brace of spy photos in the gallery above.
New Chevrolet Silverado to be revealed on Facebook on Thursday
Tue, 11 Dec 2012There's not much to see here, but if you're one of those waiting for the reveal of the 2014 Chevrolet Silverado 1500, above is the teaser image that Chevrolet posted on its Facebook page. We've seen the truck in form-fitting camo before, and even less can be made out here beyond those seriously punchy Silverado-esque fenders and the knowledge that the projector-beam headlamps teased previously do indeed work. We'll have to wait until Thursday for a full perusal of the "bold exterior design" and "careful attention given to every detail" we've been promised.
Gathering intel and rumors, magnesium and aluminum contribute to the Silverado's weight loss plan, the purported "High Country" top-tier trim will contribute to luxury pickup truck competition and profit margins and the next-generation small-block V8 will contribute to improved fuel economy. On the engine note, there have been rumors of available V6 engines, and when Facebook user John Jones asked "Where's your answer to that EcoBoost Chevy?", the Bowtie replied "stay tuned on the 13th. We think you'll be pleased...".
Along with the "Raise the Bar" tag, Chevrolet says of the Silverado, "You asked, we delivered." You can watch the reveal live on Chevrolet's Facebook page at 9:30 am EST, this Thursday, December 13. The GMC Sierra 1500 will also be there, and we'll see both in person at the Detroit Auto Show in January.
'84 MotorWeek Cherokee, Bronco and Blazer comparison indulges your SUV nostalgia
Fri, Jan 16 2015These days, truck-based, full-frame SUVs are somewhat of a rarity on the auto landscape due to the rapid rise in popularity of easier-driving, car-based crossovers. Although, without the gradually building popularity of these chunky, high-riding vehicles decades ago, it's unlikely that America's roads would be filled with so many CUVs today. In its latest dig into the archives, MotorWeek has found a 1984 comparison test of a trio of these early Sport Utility Wagons, as long-time host John Davis called them, that helped get acceptance of this segment going. This is a red, white and blue test of the SUVs from American automakers at the time and pits the Chevrolet Blazer, Ford Bronco and Jeep Cherokee (specifically in Wagoneer guise) against each other. Driving manners and interior usability are considered in the evaluation, but Motorweek actually takes these vehicles off road, too. Among the bigger revelations is the improvement in on-road ability in the past 30 years. While specific 0-60 times aren't given, all three models take around 10 seconds just to get to around 50 miles per hour in the 500-feet on-ramp acceleration test.
