1980 El Camino (nice) on 2040-cars
Tuttle, Oklahoma, United States
Very nice pro street el camino with lots of extras!! The wheels and tires are approximately 5 yrs old, paint approximately 9. Weld wheels with Mickey Thompson pro 33x19.5x15 on the rear 205/70R15 on front. The engine had a complete overhaul in 2010, fresh 30 over 350 with eagle crank, rods and speed pro flat top forged pistons. The cam and lifters are lunati (hydraulic). Two edelbrock 500 cfm carbs. MSD 6al box and distributor get the fire hot. T10 four speed with a center force clutch kit and blow proof bell housing. The rear end is a Dana 60 with 456 gears and strange axels. Also has drive shaft loop. Coil cover shocks hold up the rear and ladder bar set up makes it hook. Linelock (for burnouts) in center console. Very well built car, will handle almost any horse power, full exhaust with flow masters. This is not a show car, there are a few knicks and dings nothing that stands out. The bed has the most scratches and the seams have been sealed and touched up. The factory gauges are not hooked up, all the lights, turn signals, brake lights, wipers work. The speedometer and oil work, but not tach or temp or fuel gauge. It has a fuel cell so just pop the cap and check fluid, pretty simple. The two door panels have small knicks in plastic panel see pics for further detail. Body has no rust. This is a street legal vehicle!!! I am selling this for my dad, he is 70 yrs old and bought this car as a package deal with a 67 Camaro, he is not a drag car guy, he has owned this car since 2010 and has only driven around small town, no drag strips. it is a clean car. On the overhauled motor there is approximately only 1500 miles. Please only serious inquires only. No spam or trades Thanks for looking |

2014 Chevrolet Corvette C7 Convertible offers a few more views before reveal
Mon, 04 Mar 2013Over the weekend, Chevrolet released its first images of the new 2014 Corvette Stingray Convertible. Now, ahead of the droptop's official introduction tomorrow at the Geneva Motor Show, the automaker has given us a few more shots of the softop C7 showing off the car's rump albeit from a high, strategically positioned angle.
From this angle, it's hard to get a sense for how long and flat the decklid really is, but we can easily see that, like the rest of the C7's design, the new convertible's decklid and tonneau cover are far more detailed than the current car. We also get a better look at the rear haunches sans brake vents, which have apparently been moved to underneath the car in order to accommodate the top's hard cover.
As for the overall styling of the C7 convertible, with the top erected, we get some idea of what a coupe design (as opposed to the Stingray's fastback shape) would look like on this car. The C5 Corvette most recently had a coupe model that did away with the large glass hatchback, and we recently reported on a low-cost "coupe" model potentially being added to the C7's repertoire.
GM applies for LT5, LTX trademarks... are new small block variants coming?
Mon, 29 Apr 2013Recently discovered General Motors trademark applications for LT4, LT5, LT88 and LTX have observers wondering what kind of high-performance offerings could be on their way. A new LT4 would mark a return of the engine designation first used on the Corvette Grand Sport, SLP Pontiac Firehawk and SLP Chevrolet Camaro SS from 1996 and 1997. Supposition at Corvette Forum - which provided advance intel on the C7 like these leaked images - believes a new LT4 could go into the high-performance trim of the next-gen, 2015 Camaro that would be more powerful than the 580-horsepower Camaro ZL1.
Seeing an LT5 again would also be déjà vu - in its former life it was a 5.7-liter V8 for the C4 Corvette ZR-1 from 1990-1994 designed by Lotus, producing from 370 hp to 405 hp. A mix of rumor and hope is that the new LT5 will be a supercharged evolution of the 6.2-liter LT1 (pictured) placed in the new C7 Corvette, and that it will go into the C7 version of the ZR1 pumping out something like 700 hp.
The LTX trademark is, as with that last letter, a complete mystery. If the "X" isn't a generic way to denote the whole LT family, it's wondered if it LTX could refer to a crate motor offering like the LSX.
Why Cadillac thinks it needs to succeed in Europe to sell cars elsewhere
Tue, 26 Feb 2013Ward's Auto has taken an interesting look at the renewed focus General Motors is showing towards Cadillac in Europe. Susan Docherty, president and managing director of Chevrolet and Cadillac in Europe (pictured), says in order for the luxury brand to thrive in China, it first needs to succeed in the old country. The reason? Chinese buyers look to Europe for cues as to what's deemed worthy of the term "luxury." There are hurdles to the plan, however. In addition to the fact that the EU is flooded with high-end nameplates, GM doesn't necessarily have the distribution network in place to put buyers behind the wheel.
Combine that with persistent economic woes and Cadillac's checkered past marred by a lack of diesel engine options and a bankrupt distributor, and the road ahead for the brand looks like less of an uphill climb and more like a straight-up cliff face. But Docherty is optimistic and says she has a plan for the brand. We recommend heading over to Ward's for a closer look at the full read.
