Overall the car is in great condition. The vehicle underwent a basic restoration in 2010. The following was done to the vehicle:

1.  Had SBC 350 rebuilt and bored out .060.  2-step up cam installed during rebuild.
2.  New rebuilt 200R4 transmission with appropriate cross member.
3.  Edelbrock carb, intake, fuel pump, and water pump installed.
4.  New power steering pump, AC, steering gearbox, master cylinder,
5.  New brake and fuel lines.
6.  Installed like-new complete dash.
7.  New carpet and seat covers, interior trim and panels dyed black.
8.  New paint and rhino-type liner in bed.
9.  Removed bumpers and installed roll pan.
10.  Custom tail gate with license plate bracket removed.
11.  New cowl front hood.
12.  All new bushings, tie rods, u-joints, etc, brakes, etc.
13.  New grill and light bezels
14.  New weatherstripping for doors and windows
15.  Flowmaster Exhaust (I believe Super 40) dumped before rear axle.
16.  Rear End from 1985 Monte SS (3.73 I think, non-posi as I was led to believe it was).
17.  205/75R15 Coopers on front, 275/60R15 Tiger Paws on rear.  Great Tread.
18.  Vintage looking American Racing wheels.
19.  Tinted windows (not pictured).

I am positive there is more not listed here...

In a nutshell, car was stripped down to bare body on frame (frame was never removed although all frame mounts and bushings were replaced).
Essentially all components are new or rebuilt, and all suspension parts were either sand blasted and repainted or replaced and painted.

There is very little to this car that hasn't been replaced in the engine compartment (radiator, coolant reservoir, washer fluid reservoir,
wiper motor....these are original and what I can think of right now).

Although this car is in excellent shape, there are a couple items that could be better:

1. Small ding on left rear quarter above wheel well.  Hardly noticeable unless you know it is there,
2. Small indention on front right of hood (pushed a little hard in closing it, and in the wrong place)
3. A couple minor chips on front bumper (it has been driven...maybe 200 miles since restoration)
4. A couple interior trim piece are screwed in from outside (couldn't locate clips at the time).
5. Some dings are chrome around bed (have replacement chrome for this for all except tailgate and rear corners that would be included).
6. Seat covers were low quality...can easily be replaced.
7. Transmission fluid cover leaks slightly and occasionally.  I am told this is common and that a 700R4 pan would fix.

This car runs and rides great...and is definitely loud. And is definitely an attention-getter that only needs a little minor work to make show ready.

Thanks for looking and bidding!  Please let me know if you have any questions.

Payment by bank wire also accepted.

THIS CAR IS ALSO BEING SOLD LOCALLY AND THE LISTING COULD BE REMOVED AT ANY TIME.

Who sold the most heavy-duty pickups in 2012? PickupTrucks.com investigates

Tue, 26 Feb 2013

Domestic manufacturers enjoyed a good year for heavy-duty pickup sales in 2012. PickupTrucks.com has taken a close look at exactly how those sales broke down between each manufacturer and between three-quarter and one-ton pickups. Ford sold some 67,786 F-250 Super Duty models last year with the Chevrolet Silverado 2500 HD falling just behind at 56,359 units. The Ram 2500 HD came in third at 41,918, while the GMC Sierra 2500 HD earned itself fourth place with 27,616 deliveries. While Ford held onto the top spot in the one-ton market, Ram easily nailed down second place by selling more 3500 HD models last year than General Motors sold Silverado 3500 HD and Sierra 3500 HD trucks combined.
So, did GM manage to sell more trucks than Ford with its two brands? Very nearly. Ford sold a total of 119,338 heavy-duty pickups to GM's 111,555. Ram, meanwhile, moved a distant 77,583. But perhaps more interesting is the diesel take rate in this segment. PickupTrucks.com says 80 percent of all domestic one-ton trucks roll from the dealer lot with a turbo-diesel under the hood. Head over to the site for a closer look at the breakdown.

GM applies for LT5, LTX trademarks... are new small block variants coming?

Mon, 29 Apr 2013

Recently discovered General Motors trademark applications for LT4, LT5, LT88 and LTX have observers wondering what kind of high-performance offerings could be on their way. A new LT4 would mark a return of the engine designation first used on the Corvette Grand Sport, SLP Pontiac Firehawk and SLP Chevrolet Camaro SS from 1996 and 1997. Supposition at Corvette Forum - which provided advance intel on the C7 like these leaked images - believes a new LT4 could go into the high-performance trim of the next-gen, 2015 Camaro that would be more powerful than the 580-horsepower Camaro ZL1.
Seeing an LT5 again would also be déjà vu - in its former life it was a 5.7-liter V8 for the C4 Corvette ZR-1 from 1990-1994 designed by Lotus, producing from 370 hp to 405 hp. A mix of rumor and hope is that the new LT5 will be a supercharged evolution of the 6.2-liter LT1 (pictured) placed in the new C7 Corvette, and that it will go into the C7 version of the ZR1 pumping out something like 700 hp.
The LTX trademark is, as with that last letter, a complete mystery. If the "X" isn't a generic way to denote the whole LT family, it's wondered if it LTX could refer to a crate motor offering like the LSX.

More Corvette Stingray Factoids: Vanishing panel gaps and 26-mpg LT1

Thu, 28 Feb 2013

During January's Detroit Auto Show, we managed a longer than expected wandering tag-team interview with C7 Corvette chief engineering exec Tadge Juechter (pictured above), and LT1 engine boss Jordan Lee (pictured below). They are, quite honestly, two of the very nicest bigshot lads to ever walk the engineering corridors of an American manufacturer. Both are enthralled by what they're doing for a day job. So are we.
We've followed the pre-sale anticipation for the Chevrolet C7 Corvette Stingray like an Oreck vacuum yanking every speck of dirt from a well-trampled carpet. Everything is reportable and contains a grain of further knowledge about this dramatically important and cheered-for car, as it continues to be pressured into representing all that is superior about the American dream. The Corvette wears one heavy cloak.
So, most of what was talked about has been expertly reported already right here on Autoblog. But, looking through our notes again, both Jeuchter and Lee added facts to the buzzing mix.
