You are looking at a real matching numbers SS396 El Camino, I would call it a nice unmolested car. One older repaint on body,driver quality paint and body. Still has its points distributor,smog pump and single snorkel air cleaner. I will list all the numbers later in the ad. Factory lemans blue with blue bench seat is nice, you can take a third passenger if you would like.The bench seat has been recovered,new carpet and the headliner is in nice shape. Most of the chrome looks original and has its factory YA code SS wheels with the correct deep center caps. Still has the factory two piece rotors in the front.The factory T3 high beams are present. The original lemans blue paint is still present in the door jams. Floors and boxed frame is real nice , see pictures. The factory AM radio plays, horns work ,speedo works and all lights work. Factory muncie shifter with bench seat shifter handle.Motor and trans have 1,000 miles on them since rebuild (have receipts). New clutch was installed at the same time. This one has been cared for and is not all modified. The bed floor is in very nice shape see pictures, i even took the front bed plate off and took a picture down in there. There is no sign of rot and is all in very good shape. This is a turn key driver that can be driven and enjoyed, body and paint is driver quality. Corvette Stolen In Detroit Returned To Owner After 33 Years
Wed, Jun 25 2014A Detroit man had his stolen Corvette returned 33 years after it disappeared while parked on one of Detroit's main drags, according to ABC 7. The last time George Talley saw his 1979 Corvette was on a July day in 1981, when it disappeared from its parking spot on Jefferson Avenue in Detroit. He had given up hope of ever seeing his car again, until a phone call from AAA brought his sporty ride home. Authorities had come across a Corvette with a questionable VIN in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. When they ran the number Talley's stolen car report came up. The car is still in pretty good shape and only has 47,000 miles on the odometer. Talley wasn't sure how he could get the car back home, but General Motors stepped in and agreed to cover the cost of bringing the 'Vette home. Talley has always had a passion for Detroit-made muscle cars. "I've always liked Corvettes. It was attractive. The ladies like 'em," Talley told ABC 7.
Former Fisker CEO has some advice for Tesla Motors
Wed, Oct 22 2014Former Fisker Automotive CEO and ex-Chevrolet Volt vehicle-line director Tony Posawatz has some words of caution for Tesla Motors. The long-time automaker executive questions the California automaker's long-term viability – and gives some praise – in a talk with Benzinga, which you can listen to below. While the all-wheel-drive D that Tesla unveiled earlier this month in Southern California wowed a packed crowd, Posawatz (starting at around minute 4:45 in the interview) says Tesla would've been better off taking the resources it expended toward that Model S upgrade and directed them towards speeding up the development of a more affordable plug-in. Perhaps a number of investors agreed, since the company's stock fell the day after the D was announced. Posawatz says Tesla has been over-reliant on the sale of ZEV credits. Posawatz also says that Tesla has been over-reliant on the sale of zero-emissions vehicle credits in California for its earnings and questions whether the automaker will ever work at a large enough scale to sufficiently drive down costs and make consistent profits. Tesla CEO Elon Musk would take issue with this characterization. Posawatz first made his mark in the plug-in vehicle world when he was the vehicle-line director at General Motors for the Volt extended-range plug-in from 2006 to 2012. Later that year, he joined extended-range plug-in maker Fisker Automotive as its CEO, though quit that job during the summer of 2013 as the company was descending into insolvency.
