Free Delivery! Like New With Just Nine (9) Miles! Salvage Car Great For Export! on 2040-cars
Washington, District Of Columbia, United States
Please read the ENTIRE description before placing a bid. This car is on a salvage certificate that is branded, “for parts.” You will not be able to just go to your DMV and get it registered in any U.S. state or Canadian province that I know of with the current paperwork. There are a few states that will issue a rebuilt salvage title with this paperwork, and if the car is exported, most countries won’t have a problem with it either. If the car doesn’t sell with the current salvage certificate, I will get a rebuilt salvage title for it so it could then be re-titled in most states, but then the price wont be the same.
This auction is for a 2013 Chevrolet Cruze LT sedan finished in Silver Ice Metallic with the Jet Black interior and is the loaded 2LT version. It’s powered by a turbocharged 1.4 liter dual overhead cam 16-valve Ecotec engine that has received numerous rave reviews by engineers and the automotive press for it’s high power output, excellent economy and inherent smoothness. With a turbocharger, the Cruze LT engine gets better gas mileage than the base LS model that has a 1.8L non-turbo motor, while putting out the same horsepower and even 20 percent more torque. This engine features a cast iron block for maximum durability, chain-driven cams for reduced maintenance (the 1.8L engine in the LS has a timing belt that must be replaced periodically), variable valve timing for maximum power output at all engine speeds, an aluminum cylinder head for reduced weight and greater heat dissipation and an electronically controlled thermostat combined with an integrated oil cooler to keep the engine operating at it’s peak efficiency. The engine is mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission with Driver Shift Control (DSC®). This transmission has low first and second gears that provide brisk acceleration, while the high top gear allows for effortless highway cruising and excellent gas mileage. With Driver Shift Control you can move the shifter to the left and then tap it up or down to shift the transmission like a manual for more control on winding roads and provide greater power and acceleration for passing maneuvers. Integrated into the transmission is an all-season Traction Control System (TCS®) which helps to get you through ice and snow covered roads with ease, and the StabiliTrak® system which is an advanced electronic stability program (ESP) that helps the car stay on the road through curves and abrupt maneuvers. Rounding out the Cruze powertrain is a chassis made to smooth out your daily commute while still having fun on twisting roads. Start off with a MacPherson strut independent front suspension, Watts Z-link rear suspension and high performance 17 inch tires. Add rack and pinion Electric Power Steering (EPS) for precise road feel, and a stiffer chassis design than many other small vehicles, and you have a car that is quicker, faster and handles better than many others in it’s class.
The styling of the Chevy Cruze features clean highly sculpted lines and distinct angles while adding bold and aggressive elements to form a beautiful modern design. If you are tired of other cars with bland organic or jellybean styling, the Cruze is the automobile for you. A quick walk around the car reveals how the Cruze is one of the most stylish vehicles ever created in the compact class of automobiles. From up front, its sharp sleek lines with black bi-level honeycomb grille, steeply raked windshield, clear lens headlights and jewel effect reflectors with Audi and Mercedes influenced L.E.D. daytime running lights flow into sweeping curves along the sides of the car with body colored mirrors and door handles for a monochromatic look. Then, going back, they meld into large wheel arches filled with wide low profile tires mounted on some of the best looking wheels ever produced by a car maker, bright machine finish and clearcoated five spoke rims that would look great on a Camaro or Corvette. Then at the rear you have a short trunk lid with a spoiler and a roof mounted Euro-style antenna, suggesting this car is ready to take off at any moment. It’s chic Euro-styling that looks handsome from any angle without being flashy. It takes numerous styling cues from pricier German sports sedans as well as creating some that are all it’s own. It’s no coincidence that the Cruze is based on an Opel design from Germany. As stylish as the outside is, the inside is just as nice with a high tech design that is feast for the eyes and senses. Borrowed from the Corvette, it’s twin-cockpit design is both functional and beautiful to look at. Get in and sit down in a leather bucket seat that feels supportive yet comfortable for a 12 hour drive. Adjust the seat to the perfect driving position with the 6-way power adjustment knob and manual recline function. Then grab the thick padded wheel and adjust the tilt steering column to achieve complete driving control. Notice how the steering wheel mounted cruise control and infotainment switches are just a fingertip away. Next, look ahead at the dashboard that flows seamlessly into the door panels noting the sporty mesh cloth trim. The instrument cluster is trimmed with titanium bezels and is backlit with light-emitting diode (LED) technology that provides a cool-blue illumination of the analog gauges and a Driver Information Center (DIC) displays vital functions and warnings. Now glance at the center stack and how simple the radio and climate controls are to operate with functions being displayed on the Infotainment Display Screen (IDS). Look right and left at the titanium accents on the console, dash and shifter, along with chrome surrounds on various knobs and switches and the premium leather upholstery that has a soft supple feel. Finally, take a deep breath through your nose and take in that new car smell that can’t be duplicated by any sprays or pine tree air fresheners. Not only is the styling beautiful to see, but all the textures have a rich feel and look and all the switchgear have a precise soft touch action. From the dimpling on the steering wheel, the leather seat upholstery, the textured graining pattern on the dash and door panels, or the layout of the knobs and switches throughout the cabin, everything looks and feels like it came from a more expensive car. This Cruze LT is fully equipped with all the desirable safety, comfort and convenience features and equipment including:

The car is in new condition inside and out and runs and drives excellent for the short drive I took it on so as not to increase the odometer mileage. As mentioned previously, the interior was removed and the car allowed to air dry for 6 weeks indoors.
A new body control module was the main electronic component that needed replacement.
All affected terminals in the connectors were replaced.
As well as terminals in the seat harness connectors which are mounted on the floor pan.
Front and rear brakes show no damage.
The Chevy Cruze LT is as economical to drive, as it is to maintain. While the EPA highway mileage rating is 38 MPG, those who drive with restraint can raise that figure to around 45 MPG at steady highway speeds. And most systems have low or reduced maintenance components. For example, instead of a timing belt that needs periodic replacement, the 1.4L engine uses a steel timing chain that lasts for the life of the engine. It has hydraulic valve lifters that never need adjusting unlike some cars that need regular valve adjustments. It uses an oil-life monitor system that calculates optimum oil change intervals based on miles driven and driving conditions. A car that is driven in the city with frequent starts and stops requires more frequent oil changes than a highway driven car which under optimum conditions may go 10,000 miles between changes. It uses platinum tipped spark plugs and an advanced specification transmission fluid, both of which only need to be changed every 97,500 miles, extended life coolant with a 150,000 mile service interval, and a maintenance free fuel filter that only needs replacement if the pump is replaced. Also, much of the exhaust system is stainless steel and should last the life of the car. While the Cruze doesn’t cost much to operate, it’s still loaded with all the safety features found in more expensive cars. To avoid crashes in the first place, the Cruze has 4-wheel disc Anti-Lock Brakes, StabiliTrak® Electronic Stability Control System, an All-Season Traction Control System (TCS), daytime running lamps and a Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS). If a collision is unavoidable, the Cruze is equipped with numerous active systems to minimize injuries. It has a class leading ten airbags that cushion impacts, including two front airbags, two side airbags, four head curtain airbags, and the latest technology with two knee airbags that help submarining injuries. In addition, there are passive crush zones and the cabin is reinforced with high-strength steel throughout. The car comes with all the books:

Because of the salvage history, this Chevy Cruze will be the cheapest one you will find until a few years of depreciation have reduced the prices of the other ones to the level of this one. It could be many years before that happens, so if you’ve always wanted a new Chevy Cruze but thought you just didn’t quite have enough funds to purchase one, this car may just have your name on it. In other words, it’s going to take another three or four years before the other new Cruze cars that you are looking at now for $22-24,000 depreciate down to the price of this Cruze. So why wait that long? In 3 or 4 years their prices will be the same as mine is anyway, right now, so you might as well own and enjoy it right now! The new price of this loaded 2LT model was over $22,000. CLICK HERE to see the new prices for 2012 as I don’t have a 2013 pricing book. The ‘13’s should not be much more than the 12’s. I have the price at over $10,000 below that amount! The NADA Blue Book retail price on a used 2013 Cruze LT without salvage history is over $18,000! (And that doesn’t even include the 2LT equipment such as leather and heated seats which should add another $500) CLICK HERE to see the Blue Book pricing. I have the price at over $6,000 below that amount! If you are serious about buying a 2013 Chevy Cruze in general and a 2LT model specifically, this is as low as they go by far. Also remember that we don’t charge dealer processing fees or document fees that many other listings have for $200 or more and bury in their fine print. And don’t be fooled by some other auctions that are advertised as NO RESERVE and start at $100 or some other low price. Since no dealer is going to risk loosing thousands of dollars if their auction doesn’t bring enough money, you can be pretty sure he has some “people” bidding on it for him. Especially those auctions that are private listings where it says “User ID kept private.” Also, because my reserve is close to the Buy It Now price, don’t think that you will get a much better deal if you just keep bidding it up instead of using B.I.N., especially if you need it delivered. TERMS OF THE AUCTION ARE AS FOLLOWS: Since this car may be advertised locally, auction can be canceled at any time (unless auction ended early with BUY IT NOW) due to prior sale without liability to any bidder. A down payment of $500 (plus any additional delivery charge) is required within 3 days of the close of the auction, balance due in cash on delivery or certified funds on delivery if I deliver it or you pick it up, or before it’s dropped off at the transporter if a shipping company is transporting it, but no later than 7 days after the close of the auction without prior agreement. I accept bank or certified checks, money orders, credit cards through PayPal (accepted for down payment only). If paying balance with funds other than cash, buyer to fax copy of monetary instrument no less than 24 hours before picking up vehicle. The car is sold as is. Buyer is welcome to inspect car BEFORE the end of the auction or to have someone check it out on your behalf provided you authorize whoever is checking the car to provide me with a copy of the results. I have tried to accurately describe this car, both mechanically and cosmetically but you can expect a certain amount of minor flaws on ANY used car including squeaks, rattles, drips, nicks, chips, scratches, blemishes and any other marks that are consistent with the age and mileage of the vehicle. There is no possible way to include all minute details and imperfections, however, I believe my listing accurately depicts this vehicle and if there are any issues they are noted in the description. Also remember that a vehicle is made up of thousands of mechanical parts and components and in an older or higher mileage used vehicle a part that is working fine now may go bad the next day, in a week, or a month from now. It’s nearly impossible to tell when a particular part or component will fail as most don’t exhibit prior symptoms, however, proper preventative maintenance as this car has received, can prevent most problems or breakdowns from happening. In fairness to all bidders the reserve price will not be disclosed so please don’t even ask. Buyer responsible for transportation and car must be paid for in full before it can be released. May deliver. Email or call for delivery quote or for any other questions. atikovi@email.com Maryland and District of Columbia dealer. Phone 202-246-5201. Please do not bid if you don’t intend to buy. FREE DELIVERY TERMS: Free delivery within 500 miles of the Washington DC area if bidder purchases vehicle with Buy It Now. (35 cents per mile for additional miles as shown in MapQuest.com from zip code 20001 to your address.) That is still the same rate as when I started on Ebay 14 years ago even with more than double the gas prices. Remember, the Buy It Now option disappears once the reserve price is met. The Buy It Now price is $11,995 AUCTION ENDS: 9:00pm sharp, EASTERN TIME Thursday June 5th unless Buy It Now is used.

General Motors CEO Provides Few Details In Appearance Before Congress
Wed, Apr 2 2014It was only two months ago that Mary Barra, freshly crowned as the new General Motors chief executive officer, visited Washington DC as an esteemed guest of First Lady Michelle Obama for the State of the Union address. On Tuesday, Barra returned to the Capitol under more strained circumstances. For more than two contentious hours, she took questions from members of a House of Representatives subcommittee investigating General Motors years-long delay in initiating a recall of millions of vehicles that contained a defect that has killed at least 13 people. Why did GM accept faulty ignition switches that were below the company's set specfications? Why did GM learn about the problem in 2001 yet take no action until 2014? Will GM compensate victims' families even though the company's bankruptcy may limit its liability? Those were a few of the questions members of the House Oversight and Investigations Subcommittee asked. Few concrete answers were forthcoming. For her part, Barra sidestepped most of the questions, saying she wouldn't have information needed to answer them until an internal review is completed. David Friedman, the administrator of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, testified after Barra. The biggest news that emerged from the hearing was that General Motors has retained attorney Kenneth Feinberg to advise the company on its civil and legal responsibilities. He has made a career of resolving disputes and serving in a 'fixer' role, serving as the chief of the federal government's September 11th Victim Compensation Fund, as an administrator of compensation fund for victims of the BP Deepwater Horizon disaster and a similar fund for victims of the Boston Marathon bombing. Barra, who has been GM's CEO since January but been with the company since 1980, expects to meet with Feinberg on Friday, and have a concrete plan within the next 30-60 days. Yet Barra would not say for certain Tuesday that GM would compensate the victims at all. Despite repeated questions from Rep. Diana DeGette (D-Colo.), Barra did not outline the company's intentions. "I assume GM is hiring (Feinberg) to help identify the size of claims and then compensate the victims? Is that right," DeGette asked. "Is GM willing to put together some kind of a compensation fund for these victims that Mr. Feinberg will then administer?" "We've hired him to help assess the situation," Barra replied. "So really, there's no money involved at this point," DeGette asked.

2014 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra introduced
The 2014 Chevrolet SS sedan is for drivers who value performance above all else
Sat, 16 Feb 2013The car you see above is the 2014 Chevrolet SS, and it's important both because it is the first rear-wheel-drive performance sedan from Chevy in 17 years, and because it will be the nameplate the brand uses on NASCAR tracks all across the country starting this year.
Though it wears a name as American as baseball and apple pie, the machine was actually designed and built in Australia, sharing most of its parts with the brand-new VF-model Holden Commodore. That said, the basic chassis bits are shared with other Chevrolet models like the Camaro and Caprice Police Patrol Vehicle.
While Chevrolet is happy to sell a Malibu or Impala to anyone looking for a mainstream family sedan, but the SS is reserved for buyers interested first and foremost in performance. Most sedans sold these days are front-wheel drive, which is great for everyday driving and when the weather goes bad, but the SS is instead a rear-wheel-drive vehicle aimed at enthusiasts who love to drive and who prefer speed and performance above all else.
