For Sale is my "baby," a 1998 Mustang v6 base. Previous owner added a few pieces of a Steeda package to the car to improve its look including the hood stripes and the plastic piece on the back bumper.

I have not driven the car much the past 2 years (own a truck as well and the car is stored at my mother's) so rather than let it collect dust would like to pay some school loans down by selling it.

Car just had a new battery put in it, and has no mechanical issues that I am aware of, I just drove it ~30 miles this morning. If you would like, you are welcome to find a mechanic in the area of your choosing and pay to have them look at it first. Direct message me for exact location of vehicle. Always was treated well since I bought it from the previous owner 5-6 years ago, and NEVER driven hard. As seen in the pictures, there are a couple small spots of missing paint on the front bumper (previous owner), as well as a small location on the rear wheel area on the drivers side where paint has a small bubble from rust (not cracked). That's the biggest issue.

- Car currently has (4) Bridgestone Blizzak tires which help in the snow. They are used, but still have some wear left in them. I have the original "summer" tires from the previous owner I can throw in the car too if you would like, they are just summer tires though as they don't have much tread.

- Car has a Blaupunkt aftermarket CD player as well as speakers I had installed a few years back (NOT subs) to replace the originals. The original radio is still mounted inside the car.

- Gets great gas mileage while maintaining a sporty look.

- Original engine and as far as I know original transmission. No slipping or issues that I am aware of.

---> Please keep in mind that this is a USED vehicle and USED vehicles all have wear and tear. Do not expect a 2014 Mustang when you are buying a 1998 Mustang. That being said, this car is in very good condition for a 1998 Mustang.

- Should you have any questions/concerns/want pictures feel free to Direct Message me and I will do my best to respond in a timely fashion. As previously stated, if you want a mechanic to look at it first contact me for the town the car is in and I may be able to help.

***** I reserve the right to end this auction early as car is also for sale locally. *****

IF YOU LIVE IN THE MINNEAPOLIS/ST. PAUL AREA I MAY BE ABLE TO SPARE YOU SHIPPING CHARGES, AS I FREQUENTLY TRAVEL BETWEEN MY RESIDENCE IN THE AREA AND THE CAR'S LOCATION IN WISCONSIN.

Autoblog's guilty pleasure cars

Tue, Mar 10 2015

Guilty pleasures are part of life – don't even try to pretend like you don't have one (or two, or six). In the non-automotive space, this could come down to that secret playlist in your iPhone of songs you'll only listen to when you're alone; or think of that one TV show you really do love, but won't admit to your friends. I've got plenty, and so do you. Going back to cars, here's a particularly juicy one for me: several years ago, I had a mad crush on the very last iteration of the Cadillac DTS. Oh yes, the front-wheel-drive, Northstar V8-powered sofa-on-wheels that was the last remaining shred of the elderly-swooning days of Cadillac's past. Every time I had the chance to drive one, I was secretly giddy. Don't hate me, okay? These days, the DTS is gone, but I've still got a mess of other cars that hold a special place in my heart. And in the spirit of camaraderie, I've asked my other Autoblog editors to tell me some of their guilty pleasure cars, as well – Seyth Miersma, as you can see above, has a few choice emotions to share about the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution. Read on to find out what cars make us secretly happy. Mercedes-Benz SL65 AMG This decadent convertible is the epitome of the guilty pleasure. It's big, powerful, fairly heavy and it's richly appointed inside and out. It's a chocolate eclair with the three-pointed star on the hood. Given my druthers, I'd take the SL65 AMG, which delivers 621 horsepower and 738 pound-feet of torque. That output is borderline absurd for this laid-back convertible. I don't care. You don't need dessert. Sometimes you just crave it. The SL line is about the feel you get on the road. The roof is open. The air, sun and engine sounds all embrace you. It's the same dynamic you could have experienced in a Mercedes a century ago, yet the SL gives you the most modern of luxuries. An Airscarf feature that warms my neck and shoulders through a vent embedded in the seat? Yes, please. Sure, it's an old-guy car. Mr. Burns and Lord Grantham are probably too young and hip for an SL65. I don't care. This is my guilty pleasure. Release the hounds. – Greg Migliore Senior Editor Ford Flex I drove my first Flex in 2009 when my mother let me borrow hers for the summer while I was away at college. The incredibly spacious interior made moving twice that summer a breeze, and the 200-mile trips up north were quite comfortable.

GM looks to combat high theft rates on SUVs with added tech

Tue, 24 Dec 2013

The Cadillac Escalade has been at or near the top of most-stolen and insurance-loss lists for more than seven years, until it dropped to number six earlier this year. In 2011 it was fitted with a host of new security features to address its easy-to-override features and that has brought the number of thefts down, but when eight of the ten most stolen rides are large SUVs from General Motors, no one will argue that something else needs to be done.
Thus, GM has fitted this same theft-deterring tech to the 2015 Suburban, Tahoe and Yukon. The Suburban and Tahoe will get the steering lock that the Escalade and Yukon already get, plus bolted-down third-row seats to deter thefts like this, stronger door lock cylinders and shields, and side-cut keys to inhibit picking.
Additional security measures in a Theft Protection Package can be purchased for $395, consisting of sensors on the greenhouse glass and interior, an incline/tilt sensor and added "key control systems" to make it more difficult for the men in black balaclavas to steal what you bought.

2014 Chevy Cruze Diesel destined for Chicago debut

Mon, 28 Jan 2013

It's been a little over a year and a half since General Motors first confirmed plans to offer a diesel-powered Chevrolet Cruze here in the United States, and we've now learned that the oil-burning compact will debut under the lights of the Chicago Auto Show in February. According to GM Authority, the Cruze Eco-D will be introduced as part of the entire 2014 model year Cruze range, set to go on sale in the second quarter of this year.
Earlier reports have indicated that the diesel Cruze will be able to achieve fuel economy numbers in the range of 50 miles per gallon. For comparison, the similarly sized Volkswagen Jetta TDI is rated at 30/42 mpg city/highway, but as we found out in our long-term test of the 2011 model, hitting 50 mpg was a piece of cake.
Official specifications will be released at the time of the 2014 Cruze's unveiling, though reports have stated that the sedan will be powered by a reworked version of the 2.0-liter turbo-diesel inline-four found in the Holden Cruze CDX overseas. In that application, the four-pot oil-burner produces 160 horsepower and 265 pound-feet of torque - increases of 20 hp and 29 lb-ft over the 2.0-liter engine used in VW's Jetta TDI.
