The 1982 Chevrolet Corvette Collector Edition was the last of the C3 generation. Its basic body shape dated to 1968 and its chassis to 1963. To honor the 1982 model's special status, Chevrolet offered a "Collector Edition". It differed from base models in several ways including a higher level of standard features optional on base models. Special features on this rare car are a lifting rear hatchback glass, special wheels styled similarly to the 1967 bolt on style, unique silver/beige paint, silver/beige leather interior and special cloisonne' emblems. The engine is a 350 cubic-inch V8 that develops 210 horsepower. Only 6,759 were produced and it was the first Corvette to break the $20k mark.
Condition: Mechanically - Excellent, Exterior - Good, Interior - Very Good.
Mechanical: I purchased this vehicle in July of 2011 with 65,135 miles. It currently has 67,145 miles. The car was a great runner when I bought it and I have kept up with it's maintenance and it roars like a lion! New radiator & hoses, sway bar, shocks, engine oil, trans fluid, and radiator fluid, along with new pipes and mufflers. All original style.
Exterior: The over all paint is very good. The decals have faded and are spider cracked on the hood (it looks unique and vintage). The only "damage" is to the right front quarter panel paint, prior to my owning car it appears that some type of fluid dripped and it looks like it is under clear coat. The front bumper has some paint fading and cracking which is common to this model. ( I have attached pictures). Hatchback needs an adjustment/aligning it is only releasing one pin ( I do have a pdf file that shows step by step with pictures on how to repair yourself).
Interior: The seats and steering wheel are new from previous owner. The carpet is in great shape with no stains or signs of wear. The only flaws are; some discoloration on the ash tray cover (can purchase new from Corvette Central est. $100), remnants of a bracket holder on the dash (from CB mount). I have installed new door seals, a Corvette style radio and speakers (original cassette/CB radio included). T-Top black padded suitcase (original bags also included). Vintage Corvette Cup holder.
Features: This car is as loaded as a 1982 Corvette gets; power driver seat, power windows & locks, A/C (converted, not working), tilt and telescope leather wrapped steering wheel, power antenna, glass hatchback, newer Eagle GT II tires (3,800 miles). This car has been garage stored and covered (cover included in sale) Numerous Corvette Collector Edition trinkets to enhance your car show experience (also included).
Overall: This car is a head turner and get's many compliments. It looks and runs great, but it still is 31 years old and it does have it's minor flaws. If you are a serious buyer and have some questions or would like to see more pictures, feel free to email me.

GM recalls 330,000 fullsize trucks for airbag replacement
Sun, May 31 2015General Motors has announced a recall of 330,198 fullsize pickups in the US in the aftermath of the announcement made on May 19 that doubled the number of vehicles being called in to replace Takata's defective airbag inflators. That announcement expanded the nationwide recall to an estimated 33.8 million vehicles in the US. Heavy Duty versions of the 2007 and 2008 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra are included in GM's move, for the purpose of replacing the passenger airbag inflators. The announcement made by the National Highway Traffic Safety Association cited long-term exposure to moisture as a possible cause of the inflator issues. GM says it isn't aware of any problems with the recalled pickups due to moisture, nor has it had any reports of crashes, injuries, or fatalities, and has not received any complaints. GM will notify owners, who can then take their trucks to the dealers to have them repaired free of charge. You'll find a statement from GM and the recall notice from NHTSA below. GM is not aware of any humidity-related ruptures in Takata air bag inflators in any GM-badged vehicles in the field and knows of no crashes, injuries, fatalities or complaints regarding air bag performance in these vehicles. Chevrolet SS previewed by Holden VF Commodore SS V show car
Thu, 14 Feb 2013It won't be long before we see the official, production-ready Chevrolet SS sedan (hint: it will be revealed this weekend). And to tide us over until all of the official details are released about the US-spec version, we have this: the Holden VF Commodore SS V show car, a performance-oriented brother to the Calais V that debuted earlier in the week.
What we really want to know about the SS V is what lies underhood, but General Motors' Australian arm is keeping that under wraps until the Chevy model breaks cover this weekend. Nevertheless, it's obvious that the SS V will be a serious performer, with all sorts of aggressive cues driving that home on the car's exterior. Take a look at those 20-inch billet aluminum wheels that hide big Brembo brake calipers up front, the sculpted hood and front fascia, the wide air intakes with LED running lights and the quad exhaust pipes out back. It's like the Pontiac G8 GXP never even left us.
Inside, there's a sporty-looking interior with aluminum accents that mix in with black leather and suede surfaces, all tied together in the middle with an eight-inch MyLink touchscreen infotainment system. It looks great, and again, while we don't know anything regarding powertrain details, it makes us oh-so happy to see a manual shifter smack dab in the middle of the center console.
24 Hours of Le Mans live update part two
Sun, Jun 19 2016We tasked surfing journalist Rory Parker to watch this year's live stream of the 2016 24 Hours of Le Mans. What follows is an experiment to experience the world's greatest endurance race from the perspective of a motorsports novice. Parker lives in Hawaii and can hold his breath longer than he can go without swearing. For Part One, click here. Or you can skip ahead to Part Three here. I write about surfing for a living. If you can call it a living. Basically means I spend my days fucking around and my wife pays for everything. Because she's got a real job that pays well. Brings home the bacon. Very progressive arrangement. Super twenty first century. I run a surf website, beachgrit.com, with two other guys. It's a strange gig. More or less uncensored. Kind of popular. Very good at alienating advertisers. My behavior has cost us a few bucks. I'm terrible at self-censorship. Know there's a line out there, no idea where it lies. I still don't understand any of the technical side. Might as well be astrophysics or something. For contests I do long rambling write ups. They rarely make much sense. Mainly just talk about my life, whatever random thoughts pop into my head. "Can you do something similar for Le Mans?" "Sure, but I know absolutely fuck-all about racing." "That's okay. Just write what you want." "Will do. But you're gonna need to edit my stuff. Probably censor it heavily." So here I am. I spent the last week trying to learn all I can about the sport of endurance racing. But there's only so much you can jam in your head. And I still don't understand any of the technical side. Might as well be astrophysics or something. While I rambled things were happening. Tracy Krohn spun into the gravel on the Forza chicane. #89 is out of the race after an accident I missed. Pegasus racing hit the wall on the Porsche curves. Bashed up front end, in the garage getting fixed. Toyota and Porsche are swapping back and forth in the front three. Ford back in the lead in GTE Pro. #91 Porsche took a stone through the radiator, down two laps. Not good. The wife and I are one of those weird childless couples that spend way too much time caring for the needs of their pet. French bulldog, Mr Eugene Victor Debs. Great little guy. Spent the last four years training him to be obedient and friendly. Nice thing about dogs, when you're sick of dealing with them you can just lock 'em in another room for a few hours. You don't need to worry about paying for college.
