Up for sale is my Victory Red 2007 Corvette Z06. This car has been meticulously cared for and garaged its entire life. The car is in excellent condition and needs nothing whatsoever. This car has some very tasteful and necessary upgrades listed below. The current mileage on the car is 43,802. The car has a BRAND NEW LS7 engine installed at 43,192 miles. The new LS7 includes the newer connecting rods and pistons upgraded for the Z/28 Camaro. Along with the new engine the car has a 4-year General Motors Protection Plan (GMPP) Platinum warranty until 1/14/2020 or 92,192 Miles with $0 deductible. This is an incredible car that I’m sorry to see go. The only reason I am selling is I got a deal I couldn’t pass up on a Porsche GT3. This Z06 looks, sounds, and drives amazing. It is an excellent all around performance car. In stock form the car was a bit numb and twitchy over anything but perfectly smooth pavement. Now after suspension upgrades the car not only handles much better, but also is much more communicative to what is going on with the tires and chassis. With these upgrades the car is ridiculously fun and completely controllable at all times. This will make excellent weekend/DE/Track day car for the new owner. Everything has been done and set up to just drive the car and have fun. Heres a list of the modifications currently installed on the car: -Corsa Exhaust -Corbeau A4 Seats in black leather -Apsis custom flat bottom steering wheel (Black Leather, Black Alcantara, red stitching) -Kenwood Navigation with Bluetooth phone set up shift knob, shift boot, center console lid, and ebrake lever w/red stitching -Lloyds custom floor mats and trunk mat. -Front Clear bra -35% Window Tint -Complete LG Front spindle brake duct kit -Ron Davis Radiator -All bushings replaced with polyurethane bushings -DRM custom valved Bilstein shocks -Corner balance and Street/Track Alignment -Front tow hook -Stainless Steel Brake lines -Performance AFX 2 Piece front and rear rotors -New (front and rear) Stoptech Street performance Brake pads -Skip shift eliminator As you can see, the car is ready for a new owner, and needs nothing. Im asking $42,900 but am open to offers. Please email with any questions whatsoever.

Recharge Wrap-up: Range-extended EV taxis in London, 2016 Chevy Volt interior two years old
Fri, Feb 13 2015The first Metrocab range-extended EV taxis are operating on the streets of London. The cabs use a 12.2-kWh battery and two 50-kW motors, as well as a 1.0-liter gasoline range extender. Fuel economy is 98 MPGe on the ECE101 cycle, and total driving range is over 348 miles before needing to charge or refuel. Cabbies can expect to save GBP20 to GBP40 (about $30 to $60) per day on average. "The cash savings on fuel are significant, the ride and comfort outstanding, and my first customers are thrilled with the new cab," says the first operator of the new EV taxi, Preston Morris. "With its air suspension providing unrivaled comfort, panoramic glass roof for views of the city and silent powertrain, what's not to like?" Read more in the press release below. Chevrolet has had the interior design of the 2016 Volt finished for two years already, according to GM interior designer John McDougall. Beginning around 2010, GM received sketches from designers worldwide before narrowing it down to a handful of designs. Then the top three choices were molded from clay. The chosen theme was then refined for up to 18 months. "Every little thing you can imagine goes into that," says McDougall. "The glare angle from the windows, the placement of the controls, the placement of the seat. You have to create something that's beautiful and functional." Read more at GM Authority and at Inside EVs. More details have emerged about the Second Life Batteries Alliance. Vattenfall has announced a research project in partnership with BMW and Bosch to use retired EV batteries for stationary, grid-connected energy storage in Hamburg, Germany. Over 100 lithium-ion batteries from BMW i3 and ActiveE vehicles will make up a two-mWh storage unit for grid balancing, enough to power 30 four-person households for a week. The system is "compact enough to fit in a small building," says Bosch. Such storage systems are especially fit for storing and moving alternative forms of energy, which often fluctuate in supply more than electricity from a traditional power plant. Vattenhall will operate the storage unit for 10 years, with Bosch managing the batteries, during which time the three partners hope to learn more about battery applications and their performance over time. Next Chevy Silverado could get this built-in tailgate step
Thu, Feb 2 2017General Motors just received patent approval for a tailgate step in a pickup bed. And given the timing, don't be surprised if you see this on the upcoming 2019 Silverado pickup (not the mention its GMC Sierra twin), expected to arrive in late 2018. According to the patent, granted in December of last year, the whole mechanism is housed in the tailgate assemble. The magic happens when a portion of the top half of the tailgate swings down and a step folds out. There's also a handle that locks into position to help climb up into the bed. As trucks get bigger and taller over the years, it gets harder and harder to access the cargo bed. Ford's solution with the 2009 F-150 was a step that slides out from the end of the tailgate. Back then, Chevy made an ill-advised ad highlighting the feature for Ford. And while Howie Long mocked the F-150's "man step" Ford saw almost a third of its trucks with the option in the first year. The GM design seems to improve on Ford's idea as it appears to be wider and has a back to the lower step. That is, you don't have to worry about stepping through the ladder-rung design as on the F-150. Ford's tailgate step later spread to the F Super Duty, and other cargo access assists have proliferated through the truck world. On the most recent redesign, the Chevrolet Silverado took a trick from the Avalanche and added cutouts to the corners of the rear bumper that act as a foothold. Ford also offers a deployable side step, Chevrolet has running boards that scoot rearward with a kick of the boot, and Ram offers fixed wheel-to-wheel side rails. Nissan is in on the game too, with an optional folding step that tucks under the rear bumper. We don't expect Chevrolet to comment on when or if we'll see this feature in the showrooms. But given that engineers are already hard at work on the next Silverado and the timing of this patent lines right up with the new truck's development cycle, we'll be disappointed if this patent stays in the file cabinet. Subprime financing on the rise in new car sales, leasing too
Fri, 07 Dec 2012We all remember the financial crisis that began several years back. At its core was a splurge of subprime lending for housing loans. The housing bubble burst, triggering a collapse of the mortgage-backed securities market. Apparently, those types of loans still exist in the automotive industry, and the market share for these types of "nonprime, subprime, and deep subprime," loans has grown 13.6 percent compared to the third quarter a year ago.
According to an Automotive News report, high-risk lending expanded to 24.8 percent of total loans in Q3, up from 21.9 percent for this time last year. As this level increased, average credit scores of borrowers dropped to 755, down from 763 a year ago. In that time, the average financing amount increased $90 per vehicle, to $25,963.
At 818, Volvo maintains the highest per-owner credit score, while Mitsubishi has the lowest, at 694. The highest rate of borrowers was at Toyota, with 14 percent of the market, followed by Ford with 13.1 percent and Chevrolet at 11.1.
