Chevrolet Corvette Coupe on 2040-cars
Menahga, Minnesota, United States
I purchased this Corvette from a Washington state Honda dealer last year. The dealer installed new brakes and the new tires when I bought it last fall and they have no more than 200 miles on them right now. Reason is it snowed right after it was delivered and I put it in storage. Got it back out now that warmer weather has arrived. It's very clean and runs perfect. All adjustments on both Sport Seats work fine as does the cruise control, the cassette player, etc... Mileage will go up a little as I will drive it occasionally weather permitting. I've decided to get something a little easier to get in and out of. I'm a senior and should have recalled this from my '86 Corvette I had 15 years ago. There are a few minor paint blemishes. Small paint chips in the front from sand/rocks. The top of the front urethane bumper was repainted before I got it because of the clear coat separating. This is a common problem. They did not completely remove the old clear coat on the top of the bumper and if you look closely you can see it, but if you're a few feet away you won't. The paint match was good though. Some light clear coat bubbling on the edge of the Targa top. Some minor color wear on the drivers seat bolster, which can be seen in the pic's. New headliner installed due to the original sagging a bit. New sun visors with the lighted vanity mirrors also. Interior is very nice. The day I took it in to have it checked out thoroughly, the alternator started making noise. New alternator and battery installed along with all new Kicker speakers for the stereo. Stereo sounds good. It is the factory stereo with cassette. All gauges work fine too. New remote entry key fob. Corvette has the passive entry system where the car unlocks when you get close to it with the fob. It can also be disabled to use the key fob button for the doors. Clean engine compartment as you can see in the pic's. Some of these pictures were from the dealer I bought it from. This is a very nice running and looking stock Corvette you will be proud to own and the lowest priced 6-speed you will find in nice condition. Check my feedback, as I give an honest appraisal of anything I sell and welcome calls or emails for further questions. 651.470.6621, Brad. Thanks for looking. .

Plug In 2014: VIA makes the case for 'free' plug-in hybrid work vans, trucks
Fri, Aug 1 2014If you're a fleet manager who's been waiting anxiously for the chance to buy a plug-in hybrid van from Via Motors, your wait is almost over. If you work for the right fleet, anyway. David West, the chief marketing efficer for VIA Motors, took AutoblogGreen for a ride around the San Jose Convention Center in a Via van sporting an Electric Blue paint job as part of the Plug In 2014 Conference this week and gave us an update on how things are coming along. The big news is that the Via PHEV van production is going to start by the end of September. Via can currently build two vans an hour at its production plant in Mexico, or about 16 a day and could easily double that. "That would get us to 20,000 a year with two full lines running," West said. "We have the capacity." "There is no way gas can compete with electric." – David West, Via Motors But they can't sell that many quite yet. By the end of December, around 350 Vans will be made, mostly for a $20-million program from the Department of Energy (DOE) and the South Coast Air Quality Management District that will see the vehicles used by fleets that will report energy data to the Idaho National Lab. Via is also finishing up CARB certification for both the van and the company's plug-in hybrid pick-up truck. About 50 percent of Via's technology in the truck will not need to be tested again, since it's the same as what's in the van, but things like crash tests will need to be done twice. Despite the progress, this is not where Via hoped it would be today. The bankruptcy of battery supplier A123, "took about a year off our timeline," West said. "It's been getting a little slow getting it to market, there have been some challenges, particuarly since we had the country's worst recession right in the middle of this wrap up, but it's inevitable in my mind. There is no way gas can compete with electric." Maybe that's why FedEx has expressed an interest in buying around 5,000 units, West said. FedEx already has some pilot vehicles, just like Verizon does, and PG&E wants to replace all of their gas trucks with electric vehicles, which would be another 3,000 sales, he said. Besides the fuel savings, vehicles like these, with easy on-site power generation, could also work wonders in post-disaster situations, he said, since they could replace the need for generators.

2020 Ford Escape hybrids vs other crossover fuel sippers: How they compare on paper
Wed, Apr 3 2019Along with a new generation of Escape, Ford also reintroduced the world to the 2020 Ford Escape Hybrid. And if that weren't enough, Ford is adding a plug-in hybrid version. This is a sign of the times: people are more crossover crazy than ever, but are also seeking ways to use less fuel, whether it's for environmental or purely money-motivated reasons. The Ford hybrids aren't the only fuel-efficient compact crossovers on the market. They will be going head-to-head with conventional hybrids including the 2019 Kia Niro, 2019 Nissan Rogue Hybrid and 2019 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid. There are other plug-in hybrids including the 2019 Subaru Crosstrek PHEV, 2019 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV and the plug-in version of the 2019 Kia Niro. There are even a couple diesels in the form of the 2019 Chevy Equinox and 2019 GMC Terrain. So we've rounded up the details on all these crossovers to see who leads and lags in criteria such as power, fuel efficiency, space and price. Check out all their details below. 2019 Subaru Crosstrek Hybrid View 68 Photos How do their engines and fuel economy compare? Conventional Hybrids and Diesels Let's face it, if you're buying one of these crossovers, one of the things that matters most to you is just how frugal with fuel they are. We'll start off with the conventional hybrids and diesels, and the clear victor is the Kia Niro, which in base FE trim, manages to hit 50 mpg combined. This is thanks to it sharing its powertrain with the Hyundai Ioniq, the Hyundai equivalent of the Toyota Prius. Buyers should take note that only the FE returns such high fuel economy. The LX and EX drop to 49 mpg, and the S Touring and Touring get 43. Even then, the least efficient Niro is the most efficient of the normal hybrids and diesels. It is nearly the least powerful, though, with 139 horsepower. Just behind it is the Toyota RAV4 Hybrid. It delivers 40 mpg combined, and it has an ace up its sleeve: it comes standard with all-wheel drive. Every other vehicle in this powertrain group has front drive standard, and the Niro isn't available with all-wheel drive at all. If that weren't enough, the RAV4 Hybrid also boasts the most power at 219 horses. While we can't say anything about Escape Hybrid fuel economy, we do know that it will make 198 horsepower, which is close to the class-leading RAV4. The least powerful of these is the Equinox and Terrain, and they return the worst fuel economy at 32 mpg.
