Chevrolet Corvette Blue on 2040-cars
Bishop, Georgia, United States
I came across this car last week performing a home inspection on the property for a client. The Corvette was in the basement and had beensince 1993?? The pictures you will review are from the basement and back at my house. I did not wash it so the dust you see is 22 yearsof sitting in the basement. The interior of the car is in really good shape and appears it would only need carpet and the driver seat recovered.Dash pad has no cracks and door panels look good. This is a non air car and non power brakes. The car has power steering. I do believe the78,994 miles to be correct for the car. The title I have from 1986 the car had 47,586 and its listed on the title. Realize it was parked 7 Yearslater. The brakes are down from sitting so I have not driven but I added gas to the carburetor and the car cranked and ran. It is a matching number car.The original carb is not there and the original steering wheel. The car has an L88 hood on it as well. I do not see any rust on the frame or bird cageof the car. Probably sitting in a climate control basement for 22 years helped that a lot. The paint code is 987 which would be Ontario Orange. The trim code is 400 which is Black Vinyl. This a small block 350 with 4-speed manual trans. If any of you remember the band back in the early 70's named Banks and Shane this car belonged to the drummer for that band. He is the one that parked it in 1993. So if you looking to doa 72 Vette this would be a nice one to put back original condition. The original rally wheels are not here. The reserve is low for the car so good luck and thanks for looking. If you have any questions email or call me. ThanksMarty 404-502-2156

2014 Chevrolet Silverado tows in new configurator, microsite
Mon, 21 Jan 2013Judging by your continued enthusiastic response to configurator notices, dear reader, you enjoy speccing out new cars as much as we do. Better still, there tends to be even more ways to personalize, configure and bloat theoretical MSRPs on full-size trucks as there are with more ordinary passenger cars. In addition to trim level, engine and transmission choices, truck buyers usually have to specify items like cab configuration, bed length, number of driven axles, tow packages, gear ratios and all sorts of bits and bobs.
That's why we're pleased to see the DIY specification utility for the 2014 Chevrolet Silverado come alive so soon after this week's Detroit Auto Show debut. While the configurator lacks pricing (General Motors hasn't announced numbers yet) and full options, you can still spec out your half-ton rig, and even print it out or email it to your friends. Beyond the configurator, the new model-specific site is pretty cool, too, with various videos and closer looks at the truck's new features.
The new Chevrolet pickup range won't be on dealer lots until sometime this summer, so whether you're a building contractor, an avid sportsman or just a guy or gal that loves full-size trucks, you might want to check out the link below to keep your appetite whetted. If you're more of a Sierra fan, well, it looks like you're going to have to wait a while - GMC hasn't updated its site yet.
Watch how Corvette Racing's new collision-avoidance radar system works
Fri, 22 Mar 2013When it comes to technology used in racecars, we generally expect it to trickle down to production cars, not the other way around. Well, Pratt & Miller has developed a new rear-facing radar that operates in a similar fashion to what we're used to in modern blind spot detection systems, only it is also capable of tracking cars as they approach and relaying vital information to the driver via a large display screen.
The innovative radar system debuted at last weekend's 12 Hours of Sebring for Corvette Racing, and this system makes perfect sense for endurance races like this since the cars sometimes have to drive through the night and in poor weather conditions.
The radar can detect cars even with poor visibility, and uses easy-to-distinguish symbols for the driver to identify.
Pics Aplenty: Meet the 2014 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra [w/poll]
Thu, 13 Dec 2012Today was a pretty big day for General Motors, debuting the all-new Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra light-duty pickup trucks ahead of their official showcase at the 2013 Detroit Auto Show. And now that the dust has settled at GM's big reveal event, we've had a chance to snap dozens of photos of the new pickup pair from every angle.
We already told you the important bits earlier today (click here in case you missed it), but let's recap. Under the hood are three new engines - a 4.3-liter V6, 5.3-liter V8 and 6.2-liter V8 (you know, a version of the small-block that'll also be found under the hood of the C7 Corvette), all mated to six-speed automatic transmissions. The 2014 model year marks the return of the Z71 off-road package with Rancho shocks, front tow hooks and beefier underbody protection. Inside, there's a host of new technology and a greater focus on better quality and refinement.
Some of the nitty-gritty specifics (like engine output numbers and fuel economy) have yet to be revealed, and since we haven't driven the finished products yet, it's hard to say how these trucks will fare against rivals like the Ram 1500 and Ford F-150. For now, we can only judge these two books by their covers, and while we do like the designs of the new trucks, we Autoblog staffers are torn on exactly which one looks best.
