Selling my corvette. It is a 2005 C6 coupe arctic white. I am the third owner.  Ran car fax from a local dealer and history is clean, only service history.  The title is clean with no brands. I put an A and A supercharger V3 kit on it about a year after I bought it, about 2 years ago.  Entire supercharger kit was installed exactly as the manufacture directed. I made a new charged air cooler pipe from the intercooler to the throttle body out of carbon fiber.  This is a one off home made piece that is 100% Carobon fiber.  The tube has the Intake air temp sensor and Meth injector in it.  I have also put on kooks LT headers, x pipe, alkicontrol methenol kit, 12 lbs pulley. Car dynoed at 615rwhp. I take it to the dragstrip pretty much once a year. about three months ago it ran a 11.3 on 19" street tires on a poor traction track. Transmission was rebuilt with a 750hp kit from pro built transmissions out of cali. I added an external transmission cooler with fan for the transmission. It is located in front of the passenger tire in the front.  Fuel system is run on high octane gas.  Stealth in-tank aeromotive 360ml fuel pump and ported stock injectors to 61lbs.  Precision industries 3400 stall converter. magnaflow mufflers. tented out tail lights and markers. blacked out halo panel and brand new lexan roof. It is the z51 handling package, navigation, heated seats, heads up display, on star, xm radio. This car has every option for this year and everything works properly as designed, no mechanical issues to mention. Four point roll bar, suede inserts on seats and shifter boot. Brakes are about 70% and tires are 50%. CCW 19/18" wheels with nitto invos. Royal purple in trans, rear end and engine, all new fluid, brake, power steering, trans, diff, supercharger and engine.

I have done all of the work to the car myself except the suede work and tuning work, that was done by professionals.  I am a professional mechanic by trade and I am fully transmission certified (among other things).  I have all automotive mechanic ASE certifications and I am 100% Ford certified as well.  There are a few tiny chips in the powder coat on the front wheels, noting too bad. The front bumper has slight spider cracking in paint that can be seen if very closly inspected on passenger side by the fog light from the last owner.

I still have a loan on the car and it will have to be paid off once auction is over to get title.  I have talked to the bank, I will be able to get the title from the DMV after the loan is paid off the same day as final payment so entire transaction will be able to be done in one day.  This is a private owner sale so I can not offer a warranty , it is sold as is.  If you want to buy it, please be pre-approved for a loan for the car or have cash in hand to purchase.  Once the auction is over, we can discuss a get togeather to get the title and exchange for the car.  I am more than happy to answer any questions you may have, you can contact me through ebay or you can call or text me at 614-302-4235.  Thanks for looking.

The U-2 spy plane needs high-performance cars to help land

Thu, Oct 15 2015

Typically, aircraft deploy their landing gear from three main points. Most military aircraft, for example, deploy two gears at the back and one forward, like a tricycle. Some civilian aircraft flip the layout, with two in front and one in back - tail-draggers. The U-2 Dragon Lady is wildly different than any of these. With a 103-foot wingspan but a body that's just 63-feet long, the layout of the U-2 makes a traditional landing setup infeasible. Instead, the U-2 utilizes a pair of wheels, one up front and one in back. With such a bizarre layout, landings are so tough that since the U-2's earliest flights at Area 51, the US Air Force has used high-performance chase cars to guide the pilot down safely. The landing process isn't over there, though. As this video from Sploid shows, balancing out the aircraft to fit the detachable "pogos" – think training wheels for spy planes – is a comical procedure requiring a number of airman using their full body weight to even out the U-2. This video also recaps some of the great vehicles that have served as chase vehicles for this legendary spy plane. They include Chevrolet El Caminos, and the Fox-body Ford Mustangs so favored by the California Highway Patrol. For the last several years, the USAF has utilized products from General Motors, using fourth-generation Chevy Camaros, before switching over to the Pontiac GTO and most recently, the awesome Pontiac G8. It's fair to say that if you're a gearhead in the Air Force, this is the job you want. Check out the video, embedded up top. Burt Reynolds' vehicles up for auction at Barrett-Jackson

Tue, Sep 25 2018

Burt Reynolds' influence on car culture cannot be overstated. Be it "Smokey and the Bandit" or "Cannonball Run," his films inspired a generation of car enthusiasts. He died a few weeks back from cardiac arrest at age 82. This weekend, four vehicles from Reynolds' personal collection — three Pontiacs and a Chevy — will go up for auction at Barrett-Jackson in Las Vegas. It seems Reynolds had plans to sell the cars before he passed. He even filmed a short teaser for the auction and planned to attend the event himself. Three of the cars are Pontiac Trans Ams. Two are re-creations of the cars he drove in "Bandit" and the film "Hooper." Both are 1978 models. The third Trans Am is from 1984 and was used to promote Reynolds' USFL team, the Tampa Bay Bandits. The fourth vehicle is a 1978 Chevy R30 pickup truck. It's styled like the truck he drove in "Cannonball Run." None of the vehicles were actually used in the movies. But they were registered in his name, making them far more legitimate than some other movie-inspired clones. It's unclear how many Bandit Trans Ams Reynolds has owned over the years. Another car connected to him sold for $450,000 back in 2014. His death is sure to drive the price of these new cars even higher. GM applies for LT5, LTX trademarks... are new small block variants coming?

Mon, 29 Apr 2013

Recently discovered General Motors trademark applications for LT4, LT5, LT88 and LTX have observers wondering what kind of high-performance offerings could be on their way. A new LT4 would mark a return of the engine designation first used on the Corvette Grand Sport, SLP Pontiac Firehawk and SLP Chevrolet Camaro SS from 1996 and 1997. Supposition at Corvette Forum - which provided advance intel on the C7 like these leaked images - believes a new LT4 could go into the high-performance trim of the next-gen, 2015 Camaro that would be more powerful than the 580-horsepower Camaro ZL1.
Seeing an LT5 again would also be déjà vu - in its former life it was a 5.7-liter V8 for the C4 Corvette ZR-1 from 1990-1994 designed by Lotus, producing from 370 hp to 405 hp. A mix of rumor and hope is that the new LT5 will be a supercharged evolution of the 6.2-liter LT1 (pictured) placed in the new C7 Corvette, and that it will go into the C7 version of the ZR1 pumping out something like 700 hp.
The LTX trademark is, as with that last letter, a complete mystery. If the "X" isn't a generic way to denote the whole LT family, it's wondered if it LTX could refer to a crate motor offering like the LSX.
