  • I am the Original OWNER of this fully loaded 2000 C5 Corvette … I ordered it from Anderson Chevrolet in Cupertino, CA and I took delivery in October 1999
  • 208,302 miles  (But the car drives awesome and feels like half the mileage) the car is 15 years old and this means the car travelled about an average of 14k miles per year with the exception of the last three years when it’s been only occasionally driven as I am retired, probably less than 3k mikes a year. As long as I’ve owned this Corvette the predominant usage has been on the highway (I was a salesman)….I rarely had to replace brakes!
  • Engine is strong and uses no oil. Oil and filter have been changed within the prescribed mileage intervals and only with Mobil 1. It has a Donaldson Blackwing Air Filter
  • Transmission shifts smooth and crisply. Recently I replaced the Reverse Synchronizer and gear, and the other gear assemblies were prefect!
  • Clutch is tight and responsive and has much of its life left. It has had 3 clutches and all have been Luk Gold clutch/pressure plate assemblies. Current clutch has about 15K on it.
  • Differential is an A&A Specialties 3.90 (I replaced the stock 3.73) and it makes 6th gear much more useable at freeway speeds and pulls very hard under acceleration!
  •  Bassani Quad Tip Stainless Steel Exhaust system w/X-pipe
  • Griffin  LS1/6  2 Row  1 1/4 ” aluminum Radiator
  •  Z51 Performance Handling Package
  • Active Handling System w/control button
  • Lowered 3/4 ” utilizing Bilstein shocks
  • Exterior body and paint is in good condition commensurate with a 15 year old car and shows no dings, but does have some scratching and rock chips on the nose car   SEE PICS!
  • Interior is nice and has maintained all its appeal. No smells and no foul odors. The driver's seat shows some tears/wear around the edges of the driver’s bolster (see pics) …passenger seat almost unused but aged.. Included are two NEW Sport Seat Covers (see pics)
  • The Interior includes ALL the options available that year, HEADS UP Display, 6-way power seats on both sides, Dual Zone Air Conditioning, Bose AM/FM Stereo w/ remote Compact 12 disc changer, Twilight Sentinel and power Telescoping Steering Column
  • Roof package includes BOTH roofs.  Lt. Pewter and Blue Transparent which is in excellent condition, only used maybe 6 times.  Removable Tops lock and unlock perfect and absolutely no signs of any leaks.
  • Tires are Brand New!.. just installed
  • Wheels are the optional Magnesium. They are in reasonable condition but do show some signs of road rash and some paint chipping… see pics
  • This car was not a “garage queen”, I’ve had several Corvettes (C4s & C5s) and I bought them because I love to drive them!!  If you are looking for a pristine example to grace your garage and be driven on sunny Sundays, this car might not be for you…If you are a gear head looking for a well-equipped Corvette to drive, renovate or convert to a track car…This is it!... This car will only go up in value as the years go by and there is less and less of these around (Especially this well-equipped)
  • Premium All weather Car Cover (virtually unused) included
  • Set of three factory shop manuals included and many docs, receipts, instructions etc.
  • Box of extras, including Red Z06 valve covers, several hi-po shifters, stock air box, fuel filters, shifter knobs etc

Please this is being listed locally and I reserve the right to withdraw on prior sale

Why 2015 is going to be a huge year for trucks

Thu, Jan 22 2015

Nissan chief executive Carlos Ghosn took center stage to introduce the 2016 Titan last week at the Detroit Auto Show. He spoke of the truck's new features, impressive Cummins V8 diesel engine and the extensive amount of time and money required to build a modern, competitive pickup truck. "We have done all of this because we see opportunity – an opportunity in the unmet needs of today's American truck customers," Ghosn said. He was speaking about the Titan, but his thoughts echo the industry's mindset: When it comes to trucks, find an opportunity and attack. Even with CAFE regulations looming and fickle consumer preferences, investing in trucks is a no-brainer for automakers. Some consumers will always need a truck for their job or lifestyle. And some people will always want one, whether they need it or not. With that in mind, here are four reasons why the pickup-truck sector is more important than ever and poised for growth in 2015. View 24 Photos The Nissan Titan Is Back Okay, it never left, but the Titan hadn't been redesigned since its launch in 2003, and Nissan sold more NV200s than Titans in 2014. It's an understatement to say the truck was languishing. That all changes with the 2016 model. The Titan will come in two variants, a traditional fullsize competitor and the Titan XD. The XD will lead the market launch, and it arrives late this year. It's pitched as a "whitespace" offering, Nissan sales and marketing vice president Fred Diaz said. The idea is to offer something in the general size and price range of a fullsize truck, but also have some of the capability of a heavy-duty truck. The XD uses a fully boxed ladder frame, the chassis design from Nissan's commercial division, and the wheelbase is about 20 inches longer than other Titan models. The XD, which Nissan is calling the flagship of the line, will be the only model with the 5.0-liter Cummins turbodiesel V8. It produces 310 horsepower and 555 pound-feet of torque, while being able to tow 12,000 pounds. V6 and V8 gasoline models will also be offered on the Titan XD and the standard, non-XD model. When production ramps up, the Titan will be sold with several cabs, beds and trims. New features include trailer sway control, an integrated trailer brake controller, more storage options in the cabin and even laminated front and rear side glass to reduce outside noise. All of this has given Nissan fresh confidence in an area where it admittedly has been lacking. "We can compete," Diaz told Autoblog.

Personal testimonies show real-world effect of plugging in with Chevy Volt

Mon, Jan 13 2014

At this point, there are tens of thousands of individual stories about what it's like to live with a Chevrolet Volt. But it also remains informative to take a look at one of these in depth. For example, one Atlanta-area Volt owner says he's cut his cents-per-mile ownership costs by almost 40 percent compared to his previous car primarily because of his ability to drive almost all the time on electric power. Jeffrey Cohen told Clean Technica that he put about 14,000 miles on his Volt extended-range plug-in hybrid for the year that ended October 2013, and that more than 92 percent of those were on electrons. He estimates his "lifetime" miles per gallon rating at a whopping 384 mpg, a figure pushed upward by the fact that he installed a Level 2 charger at home while his employer added an external 110-volt charger at work. Cohen is spending 45 cents a mile for his car, compared to 73 cents in his Infiniti M35. As a result, he's spending 45 cents a mile for his car, compared to 73 cents a mile with his prior vehicle, an Infiniti M35. About two-thirds of those Volt costs are for the $349-a-month lease payments, while 15 percent is insurance, 11 percent is for the charger and seven percent for the gas and electricity that actually powers the car. Helping lower that last figure is an overnight electricity rate that's about 10 percent of Cohen's daytime rate. Chevy parent General Motors hopes such testimonies will re-trigger sales for the Volt in 2014. Last year, GM sold 23,094 Volts, down 1.6 percent from 2012. We expect our readers have similar stories they'd like to share in the Comments. Chevy Corvette Stingray "colorizer" lets you chase the rainbow

Thu, 14 Feb 2013

After you've convinced your better half to let you buy a new Corvette, then comes the hard part... actually figuring out which 'Vette you want. While Chevrolet has yet to release the official configurator for the 2014 Corvette Stingray, it did give us something else to kill some time playing around with.
The C7 Corvette "colorizer" recently went online, and it lets you look at the car in all of its available colors and wheel options from four different angles so that when this car does go on sale, you know exactly which one you want. It includes the Corvette's full pallet of colors including Torch Red, Laguna Blue and the hue you see above, Velocity Yellow. Toss in the black wheels, and we're sold. If you have some time this afternoon, be sure to check it out the Corvette colorizer for yourself, and even if you don't have the time, we've put together a gallery with all of the possible color combinations.
