Feel free to ask me any questions about the car : raymundoreengleby@ukfun.com .1990 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 - this was the hottest American automobile made this year. In 1990 the Corvette ZR1
set several world records for durability, time and speed at a track in Texas. The ZR1 package was a $27,016 option
in 1990 with a total list price of over $60,000.
This car was originally purchased by a doctor at Jon Allen Chevrolet in Daytona Beach, Florida. The car was stored
in one of the doctors garages for 24 years along with many other collectables. Once I purchased it I took it to
Carr's Corvettes in Plano, Texas. They went through the entire car and found nothing wrong with it. They replaced
the tires and shocks. They were both a safety concern after sitting all that time. The original Goodyear tires are
wrapped in plastic and the original shocks are in a box in my garage and is part of this deal if wanted. Having the
original tires is unique if you ever want to show the car. Carr's Corvettes changed all the oils and flushed all
the other fluids like the radiator and brakes. The engine was designed by Lotus and built by Mercury Marine for GM, they produced it for 6 years. From what I have
read this motor was the basis for the Cadillac NorthStar which was built for years and quite reliable. In 1990 the
LT-5 had 375 HP and 370 ft lbs of torque. It has a valet key which if turned off reduces the HP and helps to stop
others from driving it hard while your enjoying dinner. The top speed on this car is rated at 180 MPH.
Automobile-catalog.com has several pages of statistics and specifications related to this car.
This car is all original and the only 2 things that I have taken off the car (tires and shocks), I have if you want
them. The car runs and drives like a 25 year old brand new car. It drives great around the city and on the freeway.
As I mentioned in the condition section above, the only issue with the car that I know of is one of the seat belts
sticks sometimes when you pull it out.
If you have ever wanted a C4 ZR1 this is one you don't want to pass on. It's a beautiful car and the only thing it
needs is a good new owner. The car has never seen rain since I owned it and the doctor told me the same thing for
the 24 years he owned it. Once you see the under carriage of the car you will understand. If you need to ship the
car, once you find the shipper you are comfortable with, I will help them to get it loaded.
The last thing I have is to answer the question of why am I selling it. The truth is I have several cars. I ordered
a 2016 Z06 and in order to keep peace in the household I have to give up 2 cars to get one new Z06. It was hard but
I think it will be worth it.
The car is being sold in as is condition. I will answer any questions you have the best that I can. Thanks and good
luck.

These are 2014's best-selling cars and trucks

Tue, Jan 6 2015

Now that 2014 is no more than a set of numbers on spreadsheets, at last, the grist mill gets its first real load to chew on. The number one selling vehicle in America last year was the Ford F-Series, a fact that should surprise you only if your family name is Van Winkle and your naps tend to last 38 years, which is how long the Ford pickup has ruled our buying landscape. Even though series sales were down 1.3 percent, it still racked up 753,851 units. That's 2,065.3 sales per day, every day, all year. The Chevrolet Silverado, up 10.3 percent for the year, was still a daylight second at 529,755 units. The cab-and-bed love continued into third place with the Ram 1500-3500 trucks, gaining 23.6-percent year-on-year to clock 439,789 units. The robust turnout at The Bighorn and Jeep helped Fiat-Chrysler increase its sales by 16 percent, past the two-million mark. Our number one car? The Toyota Camry, staying in first place with a 4.9-percent sales boost to 428,606 sales, trailed again by the Honda Accord at number five with 388,374 sales. Accord sales rose six percent, and if it's any consolation to Honda for coming in second - not that it needs one - it is the only manufacturer to have three vehicles in the top ten. The rest of the list: the Nissan Altima with 335,644 sales (+4.7%), the Honda CR-V with 355,019 (+10.2%), the Toyota Corolla/Matrix combo with 339,498 (+5.9%), the Honda Civic with 325,981 (-3.1%), and the Ford Fusion with 306,860 sales (+2.9%). Total sales for the year were up six percent to 16.5 million vehicles, a volume not seen since 2006, aided by a strong December that was up by 11 percent year-on-year. Ford was the top selling brand overall but sales didn't really budge from 2013, while Subaru rocketed up 21 percent to finish with 513,693 sales. At the precious end, BMW, Audi, Porsche and Land Rover all had record years, and Kelley Blue Book thinks we could be looking at 17 million sales for the next two or three years. Looks like it's time to start making hay again... GM applies for LT5, LTX trademarks... are new small block variants coming?

Mon, 29 Apr 2013

Recently discovered General Motors trademark applications for LT4, LT5, LT88 and LTX have observers wondering what kind of high-performance offerings could be on their way. A new LT4 would mark a return of the engine designation first used on the Corvette Grand Sport, SLP Pontiac Firehawk and SLP Chevrolet Camaro SS from 1996 and 1997. Supposition at Corvette Forum - which provided advance intel on the C7 like these leaked images - believes a new LT4 could go into the high-performance trim of the next-gen, 2015 Camaro that would be more powerful than the 580-horsepower Camaro ZL1.
Seeing an LT5 again would also be déjà vu - in its former life it was a 5.7-liter V8 for the C4 Corvette ZR-1 from 1990-1994 designed by Lotus, producing from 370 hp to 405 hp. A mix of rumor and hope is that the new LT5 will be a supercharged evolution of the 6.2-liter LT1 (pictured) placed in the new C7 Corvette, and that it will go into the C7 version of the ZR1 pumping out something like 700 hp.
The LTX trademark is, as with that last letter, a complete mystery. If the "X" isn't a generic way to denote the whole LT family, it's wondered if it LTX could refer to a crate motor offering like the LSX.

This is how GM is hiding new Chevy Volt in public

Wed, Oct 1 2014

General Motors is letting the public know that, well, it's not about to let the public know anything else about the next-generation Chevrolet Volt. But the automaker is willing to talk about its camouflaging process for upcoming versions of the extended-range plug-in. So it's a half-hearted secret, at best. GM actually has a "camouflage engineer" charged with creating ways to disguise the styling of new vehicles. In the Volt's case, the company is applying black and white swirly color patterns on top of the materials, such as plastics, vinyl and foam, that are used liberally across the body. It's all part of a teaser campaign that started last month with pictures of part the 2016 Volt. Earlier this month, GM said it was keeping track of Volt drivers' habits as it works on the next-gen model. The company noted that more than four out of five trips are being made in all-electric driving mode, and that 60 percent of Volt owners use a plain-old 100-volt outlet to recharge their cars. The car is slated to make its global debut at Detroit's North American International Auto Show next January, and the early word is that performance and all-electric range will be improved (we should hope so). The car will also be sleeker. By how much, we can't tell yet, because of those darn swirly patterns. GM's got more non-details in its press release below. Engineers charged with hiding styling while vehicle testing proceeds in public DETROIT – The styling of the next-generation Chevrolet Volt is one of the automotive world's best-kept secrets. Keeping customers and media eager to see the successor to the groundbreaking original at bay until the new Volt debuts at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit in January is tricky business. First, it is engineers, not designers, who are charged with creating camouflage that balances styling secrecy with the need to validate the Volt and its systems in public. "If it were up to me it would be a shoebox driving down the road," said Lionel Perkins, GM camouflage engineer. "The design team wants us to cover more of the vehicle and the engineering team needs to have enough of the vehicle's weight and aero exposed so that the tests in the development process are consistent with the product that will come to market." The engineers responsible for the "cool" designs covering the car might deserve style points but their efforts are intended strictly to hide the metal beneath.
