The tires only have 1k on them but at certain speeds sometimes feel like they could use re-balancing. The seat and steer wheel are showing wear but have covers on them that look nice. The cd play works great but the antenna needs new coax and there is no radio reception. The carpet has all been replaced but the rear is a little faded where sun shines through the hatchback. Otherwise car is in great condition for age and mileage"

Bought this car with a 57 chevy as a package deal and never planned on keeping it. I have replaced the battery and alternator, installed a new window switch and got the stereo tuned in, now I want to sell it, I will also sell and assist in shipping internationally as long as buyer pays all fees and shipping costs. This car has a 4 speed auto trans with Tuned Port Injection 350 engine. The TPI I am told is the one to get of the older corvettes, it does NOT have the less desirable cross fire injection. I noticed in one of the pictures the engine has 71 psi oil pressure at idle. The drivetrain is original and has not been modified.  Suspension feels really tight and car drives like it is on rails. Tires are almost new with a nice performance tread design.  It runs and shifts and drives great. A/C works great, has been converted to the newer 134A Refridgerant. The car was repainted about 7 years ago and the true flame paint job on front looks great. Several chips in the black have been touched up.  Glass targa top seals good and stores in the rear when out. The high dollar tool to remove the top is in the console. The dash has been fitted with a carbon fiber kit. The digital dash works good but as you can see in the pic there are 2 segments not working in the tach readout. I was told the last owner put about $2500 in the stereo. It has an alpine deck with 3 disc cd magazine that works great and remote is included, works great. Antenna needs coax so radio don't get reception. The amp and equalizers are pictured with 2 6X9 and 2 subwoofer speakers. It really kicks when you want it too. This is going to be a great buy for the money. I don't expect it to go high because of the miles but it will be a great deal for whoever buys it. I will try to answer questions (email) to the best of my knowledge. I have only owned it for a short time but I know the previous owner well and may have to consult with him for your answers. It has a low reserve because I have too many toys so good luck bidding. Thanks!!

Next-gen GM SUVs caught wearing new boxy bodies [w/video]

Wed, 15 May 2013

We recently drove the brand-new 2014 Chevrolet Silverado and found it to be vastly improved compared to the outgoing model. And now that The General's pickup trucks have been squared away, it's time to focus our attention onto their passenger-friendly companions, the Chevrolet Tahoe and GMC Yukon (above).
Our spy photographers have passed along a huge smattering of photos (and a video), showing the new SUVs out testing. Both the short- and long-wheelbase models were spied, and while the overall shape of the vehicles hasn't changed all that much, we expect the updates to be substantial. In addition to new powertrain options, like GM's new small-block V8, we expect the interiors of both SUVs to get massive makeovers, providing better materials throughout their cabins and quieter, more refined environments. We even hear that some trick new suspension developments may be in store for upper-end models.
Visually, these spy shots allow us to see a couple of new details on the SUVs' front and rear fascias, including LED running lamps on the Yukon and some interesting LED taillamp treatments. Of course, the obvious third party missing from this set of photos is the Cadillac Escalade, but as we reported earlier, GM is working to further differentiate the 'Slade from the rest of the fullsize SUV lineup, and is working to make the new model "much less ostentatious."

This 450-hp electric Lotus Evora is powered by Tesla and Chevrolet

Tue, May 9 2017

When someone mentions an electric Lotus, the first thing that comes to mind is the Tesla Roadster, the California-based automaker's first vehicle. That car started life as an Elise before being heavily massaged and adapted by Tesla's engineers. In a similar spirit, the people at Onpoint Dyno are close to finishing Blue Lightning, a track-ready all-electric Lotus Evora. Blue Lightning uses a Tesla drive unit and a Chevrolet Volt battery pack, both mounted in the middle in place of the Evora's 3.5-liter Toyota V6. It's putting down about 450 horsepower at the wheels. The car was built for time attack sessions, so power is fed through custom forged wheels and super sticky Pirelli PZero Trofeo R tires, the same ones found on the last Chevrolet Camaro Z/28. There is a custom digital instrument cluster in place of the Lotus gauges. There's also a regen paddle on the left side of the steering wheel. With a full charge, Blue Lighting should go about 120 miles. While the car runs under its own power, it's only about 90 percent complete. It has no power steering, no firewall in between the seats and the motor and battery pack, no A/C, and a large hole where the shift lever used to be. Other final touches include fine-tuning the brakes and suspension. There is also a custom rear bumper coming that should make it look more like the new Lotus Evora 400. Onpoint Dyno expects the car to hit the track in the next month or so. Related Video:

Silverado HD, Touareg V10 TDI face off in diesel tug-of-war

Sun, 30 Dec 2012

A couple weeks ago, we watched a Chevrolet Silverado get dominated by a Dodge Ram Heavy Duty in a fullsize pickup tug-of-war, but in that truck's defense, Chevy's Vortec gas engine was no match for the torquey Cummins turbo diesel. For our next round of vehicular tug-of-war, a Duramax-powered Silverado HD takes on Volkswagen Touareg V10 TDI.
Now, on paper, putting the Duramax V8's 365 horsepower and 660 pound-feet of torque up against the V10's 310 hp and 553 lb-ft looks like an easy win for the Bowtie, but unfortunately, this battle has a similar result as the Dodge versus Chevy video, with the Silverado smoking its tires trying to move forward as it gets pulled backwards. Put another way: YouTube 2, Chevy Silverado 0.
It just goes to show, though, that big tires, bolt-on fender flares and goofy smoke stacks don't improve your towing abilities. Besides, what did the Silverado driver expect when the Touareg V10 TDI has towed a Boeing 747 in the past?
