this is a good starting point for an easy project , this 81 vette had very little body damage to address. this car runs strong 350 engine, no knocks or smoke. has a slight exhaust leak by the passanger side manifold with an auto trans also feels strong .battery is bad but car starts right up with a jump.it was repainted once some time ago, the repainted bad paint was stripped to the origanal paint which was in goog shape..no major cracks in the fiberglass the right rear had so lite damage ,was repaired .car was sanded and primed for paint.interior needs a rug, and seat covers to make it nice. dash and door panels are in good shape.one of the t-tops is cracked .replcements are easy to find .i bought the car for a father and son project but he wanted a 72 camaro instead (after i started all this work.).wheels are in good shape the tires a dri rotted a little,car was last on the road in the late 90s.frame has surface rust only.some one put a new brake calibra on it.but the brakes are a little soft..i had a new fuel sender put in it and a new fuel pump.it also needs a drivers side upper control arm bushing that i seen .with a little work and money this will be a good vette or sell it for a good price, they sell for 8-15k allday.this is a great candidate for restoration or buy it and take it apart to sell the parts and still make money.

GM recalling 426,000 sedans over faulty transmission shift cable
Fri, 21 Sep 2012General Motors is recalling some 426,240 sedans that may have a faulty transmission shift cable, according to a National Highway Traffic Safety Administration report this morning. The recall concerns a fault within four-speed automatic transmissions equipped on 2007-2010 Saturn Aura models, and 2008-2010 Chevrolet Malibu and Pontiac G6 models.
The report specifies that tabs on the transmission shift cable may fracture and separate. Such a fault could cause a discrepancy between the actual position of the transmission and the apparent position of the shift lever.
GM is currently working to notify owners of the vehicles in question, and dealers will check and replace shift cables free of charge. Scroll down to read the complete NHTSA report.
Refreshed 2014 Camaro confirmed for New York debut
Thu, 07 Mar 2013We've already seen leaked specs and potential spy shots, but the refreshed 2014 Chevrolet Camaro will make its official debut at the New York Auto Show in a few weeks.
Besides a tweaked exterior and the possibility of a high-output LS7 under the hood, we really don't know much else about the 2014 Camaro, but here's hoping for an improved interior, too.
In addition to the refreshed Camaro, Chevrolet will also be showing off the recently introduced Chevrolet SS, making its debut on the auto show circuit, and we'll also get our first look at the C7 Corvette coupe and convertible side-by-side.
2014 Chevrolet Corvette C7 Convertible offers a few more views before reveal
Mon, 04 Mar 2013Over the weekend, Chevrolet released its first images of the new 2014 Corvette Stingray Convertible. Now, ahead of the droptop's official introduction tomorrow at the Geneva Motor Show, the automaker has given us a few more shots of the softop C7 showing off the car's rump albeit from a high, strategically positioned angle.
From this angle, it's hard to get a sense for how long and flat the decklid really is, but we can easily see that, like the rest of the C7's design, the new convertible's decklid and tonneau cover are far more detailed than the current car. We also get a better look at the rear haunches sans brake vents, which have apparently been moved to underneath the car in order to accommodate the top's hard cover.
As for the overall styling of the C7 convertible, with the top erected, we get some idea of what a coupe design (as opposed to the Stingray's fastback shape) would look like on this car. The C5 Corvette most recently had a coupe model that did away with the large glass hatchback, and we recently reported on a low-cost "coupe" model potentially being added to the C7's repertoire.
