1979 Chevy Corvette; Gorgeous Red exterior with White (Oyster) interior.   Here is a great example of this model, Classic Corvette C3 Styling that still turns heads. Stand out with this All American California muscle car, that is as elegant as it is fast. Vehicle drives well on and off freeway.

A lot of recent restoration was done on this Vette,

    * EXTERIOR:
    * new Colorado Red paint, including door jambs and engine side area
    * added rear spoiler
    * Removable T-Tops
    * Emblems were re-enameled
    * new chrome license plate frames
    * NO rust anywhere
    * all glass is intact with no cracks
    * according to previous owner, engine was replaced with a newer 1991 Chevy 350 engine (actual miles unknown)
    * Alloy wheels were painted chrome silver on the interior "web" design
    * headlights pop up and down no problem
    *complete new exhaust system (no catalytic converter, with new chrome tips

    * horn is not working
    * center dome light works, but missing the little plastic cover
    * wiper switch cover is missing
    * passenger side seat belt has sprung its spring, and not retracting
    * black frame around front windshield, paint is all cracked
    * driver's door carpet was re-dyed and is now a bit "stiff" not as soft.
    * AC compressor, and smog equipment have been removed, along with some AC hoses and possibly other components.
    * there are some small spoiler attachment holes on the lower front fender in front of the tires
    * the center headliner cover (that houses the dome light), the rear part that faces the back window is warped and hangs a bit lower (common problem with these), but still worth mentioning

GM will recall 3.5 million pickups and SUVs to fix brake issue

WASHINGTON — General Motors Co isÂ recalling 3.46 million U.S. pickup trucks and SUVs to address a vacuum pump issue that could make braking more difficult and increase the risk of a crash. TheÂ recall, which covers 2014-2018 model year vehicles, including some Cadillac Escalade, Chevrolet Silverado, Chevrolet Tahoe,Â GMC Sierra, Chevrolet Suburban andÂ GMC Yukon vehicles, was triggered because the amount of vacuum created by the vacuum pump may decrease over time,Â GMÂ told the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) in documents posted Wednesday. NHTSA opened a preliminary investigation into the issue in November 2018, and said it had reports of 9 crashes and two injuries related to the issue. It providedÂ GMÂ in July with additional field reports that prompted the automaker to open an investigation. The company did not immediately say on Wednesday how many injuries or crashes are linked to the issue but said it could impact braking in "rare circumstances." GMÂ said dealers will reprogram the Electronic Brake Control Module with a new calibration that will improve how the system utilizes the hydraulic brake boost assist function when vacuum assist is depleted. GMÂ said the vacuum assist pump, which is lubricated with engine oil that flows into the pump through a filter screen, can in some cases lose effectiveness over time, as debris such as oil sludge can accumulate on the filter screen. GMÂ told NHTSA that prior model years used a different brake assist system design, and vehicles manufactured after 2018 were not equipped with the affected pump design. Recalls Chevrolet GM GMC

When you are not the one in charge of the purse strings, creativity is a must when trying to get the string-holder to bankroll that next shiny object you just can't live without.
When I was a kid, I decided that life wasn't worth living if it weren't in pursuit of owning a GMC Typhoon. My 12-year-old self crafted a fiscal strategy that, when combined with my offer of a 49-percent share of ownership in the car in return for my parents' contribution of 80-percent of the purchase price, would see me behind the wheel of a Typhoon by the time I hit college. They walked away from the negotiating table and, the economic climate of the 8th grade being what it was at the time, another partner wasn't found before the Typhoon was discontinued.
Roy El-Rayes, however, has succeeded where 12-year-old me failed, and he did it by using the sort of professionalism that only a PowerPoint presentation can provide, along with some humor and bold-faced flattery.

Leaked GM document shows GMC Sierra I6 diesel is more powerful than F-150's

GM told us earlier this year that the 2019 GMC Sierra would be getting a 3.0-liter I6 diesel option, but it never mentioned power or fuel economy figures. Hold the phone though, because a leaked GM Canada document just showed up online that lists out the details we've been waiting for. Originally published by TFL Truck, the 3.0-liter oil-burner supposedly makes 282 horsepower and 450 pound-feet of torque. For those who are counting, that's more than the Ford F-150's 250 horsepower and 440 pound-feet from its 3.0-liter diesel. It soundly bests the 240 horsepower and 420 pound-feet of torque from Ram's 3.0-liter diesel as well. Fuel economy is another story, though. The promotional material states that it will get 28 mpg on the highway, which is 2 mpg short of the F-150's 30 mpg — mind you, it's only capable of that magical 30 mpg figure in rear-wheel drive form. There's another caveat here, too; these are numbers for Canada, so they're not exactly finalized EPA figures. However, we wouldn't expect drastic differences between the two when the American numbers come out. The leaked documents also state the diesel Sierra will be capable of towing 7,800 pounds. That number seems remarkably low when compared to the F-150, which can tow up to 11,400 pounds with its diesel. Extra power and torque would have us assume that GM could get even better numbers than Ford, so we're going to hold our final judgment for official word. A 10-speed automatic will do the shifting on the diesel, just like on the 6.2-liter V8. Since the Chevy Silverado is also expected to get this engine, we can assume the figures would be almost, if not identical, to those we see here.
