This is an original LT-1 with air conditioning . If you have been looking for a clean honest LT-1 with air you know how rare and hard to find they are . I have seen a few listed and mostly dealers , this is my car in my name I own it , completely private sale . In addition to it being an original LT-1 with air options also include : A31 power windows /AV3 three point seat belts /C60 air conditioning /J50 power brakes /LT-1 350ci w 255hp /N40 power steering /Custom interior trim with leather interior .  Of the  1,741 LT-1 engines produced in it's last year of production only 240 total had the air conditioning for both coupes and convertibles . original colors of the car are 973 : Mille Miglia Red and trim color is : 404 L for black leather . As 1972 brought the last year of production for the chrome bumpers as well as the last year for the LT-1 engine option ( which more Big blocks were sold then the LT-1 by just over 2:1  s the option cost for the big block was $294.90 vs $483.45 for the LT-1 almost double a big block ) these cars are rare . Also 1972 brought the Vin coded engine serialized production cars to easy to verify . This is NOT a show car but is a daily driver . Everything works but the clock . The key buzzer , the lock out reverse , the seat belt buzzer for both sides , the tachometer , speedometer , odometer , fuel gauge , oil pressure gauge , temp gauge , amp gauge , turn signals , horn , wiper door and wipers from both the switch and by pass , the head lamp doors and head lamps , high beams , interior lights , all dash illumination , etc. Also has the orig jack , spare tires , etc. Car has been repainted at least back to the very early 80's and looks ok but plenty of scratches and chips throughout the car , far from perfect but very presentable . I have stopped using the car as of the date of this listing . It has a solid frame , orig door sticker and clearly visible V.I.N # on the "A" pillar . All orig glass still in car . I do not have the tank sticker for the car just orig owners manual , car was originally sold in NJ @ Malcom Conner Chevrolet and I am the third owner of the car . If your looking for a driver this is a real one , if your looking for a show car keep looking and step up into the 50+k buying range , if your interested in car I can be reached @ 516-467-6890 , reserve is in the 30's very reasonable for a real LT-1 with A/C. O own several chrome bumper cars and am selling all of them one by one , lost interest in the cars and more work to move them around then I care to do .

Chevy might've pulled out of NASCAR if it weren't for new Gen 6 car

Wed, 20 Feb 2013

We've been on the fence with NASCAR for some time now. On one hand, it's some of the closest racing anywhere in motorsports, with actual passing and door-handle-to-door-handle action as a matter of course. But on the other, it's become template racing - a personality-driven sport more about the drivers than any sort of loyalty to a particular automaker. The Car Of Tomorrow format really rammed that message home, with a racecar's identity coming down to little more than headlamp stickers slapped on the nose. That's not necessarily a bad thing in and of itself, but we've wondered for some time what's in it for the automakers, who pay big money to stay in a series that has had little increasingly little do with street car sales, let alone innovation.
Apparently General Motors was beginning to wonder the same thing. In a new ESPN report, Rick Hendrick, team owner of Hendrick Motorsports, suggests that GM would have seriously considered leaving NASCAR if it wasn't for the move away from the COT to the new Gen 6 racer. According to Hendrick, GM North America boss Mark Reuss spearheaded the charge away from the 2007 COT and toward a racecar with clearer automaker ties - cars like the new Chevrolet SS racer shown above. Learn more about the fight for a closer-to-production look in the ESPN story at the link.
Now, if we could just get more rear-wheel drive V8 coupes into showrooms....

"Turbo" Chevrolet Camaro is a 700-HP fantasy car come to life [w/video]

Thu, 07 Feb 2013

For a concept car built to promote an animated movie about a snail that wants to go racing, this thing ain't half bad. The outsized monster you see before you started life as a Chevrolet Camaro ZL1, and then went through a big-time Hollywood makeover before being positioned on the Chevrolet stand here in Chicago.
This 2013 "Turbo" Camaro Coupe is getting the promotion machine ratcheted up for a new DreamWorks tale by the name of, you guessed it, Turbo. Coming this summer, the movie will follow one snail's quest to become a race driver worthy of making the cut at the Indy 500. Like many DreamWorks vehicles before it, we're guessing that the petrolhead snail will star in a movie that adults (especially racing fans) with have no trouble watching with their kids. Check out the trailer below to see if you agree.
As for the car, we're told that it is "instrumental" in transforming Turbo from snail into racer. Helping the beastly pony car in this mighty task, is an ankle-cracking front splitter matched by a ungodly huge rear wing out back, a COPO hood and a supercharged (yes, supercharged) V8 engine making more than 700 horsepower. 24-inch wheels all the way around - 10-inches wide in front and 15-inches wide in back - should allow the "Turbo" Camaro to hook up with ease, as well.

Chevy Corvette Stingray picks up another award, this time from Automobile

Mon, 18 Nov 2013

The new Chevrolet Corvette Stingray has picked up another buff book accolade after capturing Road and Track's Performance Car of the Year award. The seventh-generation of America's sports car (sorry Viper, Mustang, et al.) has been named Automobile Magazine's Automobile of the Year.
Automobile's award to the Corvette over competitors is the mirror image of its rival Motor Trend, which named the Cadillac CTS its car of the year over the C7. The CTS was, according to the Automobile team, the closest contender to the mighty Stingray. Great news all around for General Motors it seems.
As for what pushed the Corvette past its distant, four-door cousin, Automobile commended its excellent, 6.2-liter V8 calling the car's performance "simply awesome" while also remarking that it is easier to drive fast than ever before thanks to steering and chassis tweaks. Following a theme set by other publications, there were also plaudits for the interior, of all things, with the buff book complimenting the car's ergonomics and material quality, while also praising the standard seats.
