1970 Corvette Coupe - 350/300 - Mulsanne Blue / Bright Blue - Factory A/c on 2040-cars
Panama City, Florida, United States
1970 Chevrolet Corvette 2 door coupe 350/300 Auto. Factory A/C Mulsanne Blue with Bright Blue Interior I've owned this car for 20 years and it has been garaged during that period. I have the tank sticker and it's in good shape. The car is an older restoration completed in the mid 1990's. Paint: The car was painted in 1988. Paint is in good shape but not perfect. Car is very presentable. Body: New Rear Chrome bumpers, Front Bumper and Grills are OK, but not perfect, not broken - needs restoration. New tail lights, some new weather-stripping. Front Glass was replaced, door glass is original with Astro ventilation embossed into the glass Brakes: Rebuilt all calipers, brake hoses, rotors and brake master cylinder. No vacuum assist. Tires: These were a special run of Goodyear tires for honoring racing in 1995. They have a yellow lettering on the outside and words Eagle #1. These tires are getting old, but no cracks and probably have 3000 miles on these since installed. Engine: Great condition. Rebuilt to factory spec's in 2011. HEI distributor for reliability was installed. Factory A/C, but does not function. I believe it works, but needs to be rebuilt. Everything installed for A/C, just no cold air. No smoke, plenty of power, great compression. Numbers: The car is a numbers matching car. Over the years of working on this car I have done research and I have found conflicting info on the engine block. The heads, exhaust manifolds, distributor all have a 1970 date code that is close to the build date. The engine block does not, instead I believe it could be a factory replacement 350, but I am not sure Transmission: Great condition. Rebuilt with a small shift kit in 2011, new stall converter. Power Steering: Rebuilt Pump and Cylinder Suspension: Great condition. New Springs front and rear, rebuilt front suspension. No rust on frame or anywhere. Interior: Very good condition. Seats have been recovered to factory original, carpets (now stained) , door panels, rear panels, dash panels have all been replaced. Dash cover, painted to match. All dash gauges work except the clock. Title reads mileage exempt, but I believe it has 179,xxx miles on the car. No power locks or power windows. New heater core - old one cracked and drained on new carpet - New vacuum lines to front of the car, new light actuators, wiper door actuator and springs Original Radio, works, new front speakers in dash. Car easily cranks up and runs great!! More pictures are available if needed. Shipping is the responsibility of the buyer. I do have a transport company I have used and they are very reasonable. Please call Malcolm at 850-528-8865 -- 9AM to 9PM EST. Serious inquires only please.

Top horsepower-per-dollar cars in 2017
Tue, Feb 17 2015Bang for the buck. That quasi-scientific statistic is bandied about by motor heads everywhere from classrooms to barrooms, though the truth of the matter is that it's exceedingly complex to measure. A fair performance-per-dollar index would include something like cross-referencing MSRP (Manufacturers Suggested Retail Price) with point-to-point times on a track or driving route, which is obviously hard to do comprehensively. But, for the sheer joy of talking about cars and playing with a big spreadsheet, there's always the horsepower-per-dollar index, which is more straightforward, albeit hilariously flawed. There are vagaries even with this simple formula, of course: MSRP for vehicles can change at a moment's notice, to say nothing of the bottom-line shifting that happens with local deals or showroom negotiation. For this list we're running with the straight MSRP wherever possible, and as recently reported as we can get it. All the vehicles on this list are 2017 models, and all trims are reported where the lowest price and differing power levels intersect. Some choices were made for personal preference and some for sanity, avoiding things like all 48 trim levels of the Ford Transit, all with the same horsepower). If this list were a simple top ten, or even a top fifty, you'd be bored to tears with all the red, white and blue that is represented. Following perfectly with conventional wisdom, American cars really do lead the world where hp/$ is concerned. So, for the sake of variety (and the sheer joy of seeing a minivan 'win' one round of this thing) I've sorted out some top five and bottom five lists for broad power categories. Let's dive in. Less Than 100 Horsepower Okay, okay, this is hardly a category we'll grant you. But we've often tried to click off all the sub-100-hp cars on sale in the US, and making this list gave us an excuse. It also illustrates that none of these smallish vehicles bring cheap horsepower to the table - for that you'll need a motorcycle. The segment-leading Chevy Spark (above) asks just over $139 for each hp, and that Smart Fortwo Electric Drive has hp on sale for about the same price as its very distant family cousin, the Mercedes-Benz SL65 AMG (insert your favorite Smart joke here... we know you want to).
C7 Corvette makes inaugural ad appearance in Chevy's first spot with new slogan
Mon, 11 Feb 2013Chevrolet's "Runs Deep" tagline has finally been run into the ground, replaced with the Bowtie brand's "Find New Roads" slogan that's part of parent General Motors' plan to unify its everyday brand's marketing efforts worldwide. The new Chevrolet campaign was ushered in on prime time last night during the Grammy Awards on CBS, and the first spot, a 90-second full-line ad, also marks the first appearance of the 2014 Corvette Stingray in a commercial.
Being a full-line ad, the commercial is composed of vignettes centered on different vehicles in the brand's lineup. The all-new 2014 Impala also makes its first commercial appearance in dapper fashion, and time is spent on a skateboarding Sonic and a bouquet of brightly colored Spark hatchbacks driven by fashionable women. The ad starts and ends with Chevy's green halo car, the Volt, along with a young girl with her robotic dog (yes, really).
Chevrolet's "Runs Deep" campaign got off to a rocky start in the fall of 2010, but it did last for a couple of years with some tweaks. This new one, "Find New Roads" seems more intent on drawing new customers into the fold than the outgoing tagline, which seemed to play more toward the brand faithful. It admittedly reminds us more than a little the short-lived "Find Your Own Road" Saab motto (which, we note, was conceived while the Swedish brand was under GM's control), but no matter, we still think it's got more long-term potential than "Runs Deep."
GM takes heat for aborted Silverado riff on 'Boston Strong' at World Series
Thu, 31 Oct 2013During game five of the World Series, Chevrolet was set to do a spot of marketing for the 2014 Silverado - fans at Busch Stadium in St. Louis would hold up placards that spelled out the words "Silverado Strong," a theme that Chevy has been promoting since the Silverado's launch with the song "Strong," by Will Hoge. The St. Louis promo was ultimately called off, though, over concerns that it'd be insensitive to the visiting Boston Red Sox. (You can see the image of what the stunt would have looked like above, courtesy of one timely Reddit user.)
Now, the Busch Stadium stunt might not have been a big deal, had the St. Louis Cardinals not been playing the Boston Red Sox. Following the tragic events in Boston during the marathon back in April, the phrase "Boston Strong" gained traction among the city's citizens, especially at sporting events. So, you can imagine that Chevy's appropriation of the phrase might not sit well with some fans.
The stunt was ultimately shelved after images of the signs went viral before the game, leading to a bit of a public backlash. Chevy spokesperson Michael Albano said of the promo that it was meant to show the brand's "commitment to baseball and its fans." But after the images went viral, the company "realized there was the possibility that we may offend some of the very fans we were trying to honor," Albano told Automotive News via email.
