Wonderfully correct and original restored local 1967 Corvette Coupe.

350 hp hydraulic lifter cam L-79 engine, runs very strong, but still gets 18 mpg. 4 speed with freeway friendly 3.08 gears (2,400 rpm at 70 mph). Spectacular 4 wheel, 4 piston disc brakes, as good as anything on the market today. Correct big block hood based upon NCRS manufacturing date (Feb. 1967), the big block hoods that were substituted during this time were not painted with stinger strips. Black leather interior and one year only turbo wheels (repro) with no knock-off spinner, power windows, power brakes and power steering. Clean, rust free- frame and running gear with recently upgraded stainless steel brake lines (up front) and stainless steel brake flex lines on all four corners.

Recently re-chromed front bumpers and new turn signal and rear taillights, also recently replaced steering box. 3 point seat belts utilizing the original anchor points in the rear, also includes an all weather car cover. New CV joints on both ends of driveline. No tank sticker, protect-o-plate or other documentation other than the NCRS shipping data (window sticker is repro). Great driving car that won't disappoint.

Differential - date stamped 1/27/67
Engine - V0103HT -1967 Corvette 327, 350 hp 4 barrel built on January 3rd at the Flint, MI. plant
Transmission - 388510 - 3088336
Alternator - 1100693-37 6M29 - 12v Neg.
Intake Manifold (Winters snowflake casting mark) - 3890490
Intake Manifold radiator connection - 3827369-B3
Holley carb - 390663-DA LIST 3810-713
LH exhaust manifold - 3346559A
RH exhaust manifold - 3747042
Fuel Pump - M4513
Valve covers (with correct casting flaw) polished - 3767493 Lester
Cylinder Heads - J15-6 3890462
Master Cylinder - 29969

Upgraded Pertronics electronic ignition replaces the original points, but retains the correct ballast resistor, but the resistance wire has been removed and it's wired straight through. New driveshaft CV joints installed. Flowmaster mufflers, but includes the original ones if you want to take it back to stock.. The original mufflers are so restrictive that you can barely hear the engine, so that's why I changed them out. No build sheet, protect-o-plate or tanks sticker, just because it doesn't have the provenance of documentation doesn't detract from the historical significance of this car.

Chevy Tahoe-to-K5 Blazer conversion shop renders Jimmy option

Sat, Feb 20 2021

Back in 2019 we told you about a truck that looked like a K5 Chevy Blazer, but was actually a modern late-model Tahoe underneath. It was the product of Arkansas shop Flat Out Autos, which reskinned modern GM full-size SUVs to look like their predecessors. Now, the same shop is planning to release a GMC version, converting Yukons to Jimmys. We were impressed by Flat Out's workmanship, beautifully blending the lines of the Blazer into those of the Tahoe. The result was a cohesive design, not just a panel swap. It clearly required a lot of work, which helped justify the $69,000 price tag, not including the cost of the donor Tahoe. FlatOut Autos GMC Blazer Tahoe reskin 01 View 11 Photos At least one new owner was so impressed that they recently purchased four identical Blazer conversions at once. The quadruplets were all finished in blue with a white roof and all based on brand-new 2020 Tahoes. Obviously, with such demand it was only natural for Flat Out to explore other options. On Facebook the company said it was working on a 1972 version with an eggcrate grille. Now, they've also released a rendering paying homage to the K5 GMC Jimmy. The Jimmy conversion uses the original's quad-headlight face, crosshair grille and GMC badging. Like the Blazer conversion, it adds chrome bumpers and milled door handles while adapting the original's 2-door design to the new truck's 4-door body. The rendering only shows the front three-quarter view, but presumably a new carbon fiber rear door would have to be created as the Blazer's says "Chevrolet" across the back. Flat Out says that all the modern conveniences found on the donor Tahoe will work on the conversion, including parking, blind spot and lane keeping sensors. If you have the coin, it's a great way to have retro style without giving up modern safety and performance. The new Blazer has been disappointing to many fans that had hoped for a Bronco-like SUV. Instead, GM gave us a crossover. The Flat Out conversions might be a good compromise, and expanding it to the GMC brand only makes sense. Obviously there's no requirement to use a GMC Yukon as the donor vehicle for the Jimmy, as it's functionally identical to a Tahoe, but wouldn't you want to keep it in the family? Related Video:

Here are the best-selling cars and trucks from January 2015

Fri, Feb 6 2015

Every month, Autoblog slogs through all the sales figures reported by automakers that do business in the United States, and, after a little bit of sorting, we put it into an easy-to-read chart in an attempt to make it as easy as possible to follow the ins and outs of sales and shipments. But that only covers the brands themselves, not the individual models they sell. And we think you'd all be interested in knowing which vehicles beat their rivals in sales from month to month, so we've put together this handy gallery to keep you in the know. While the leader of the pack may not come as much of a surprise, the order that the top ten finishes in changes frequently – due to automaker deals, the price of gas, etc. – and we've included some statistics to help you see how their current performance stacks up to month's past. National Corvette Museum to recreate sinkhole experience for patrons [UPDATE]

Sun, May 10 2015

UPDATE: The Thunderdome at the National Corvette Museum is not a ride; instead it's an experience that mixes digital graphics and thundering sound. For a brief period, it looked like the National Corvette Museum was going to preserve that sinkhole that ate eight important 'Vettes last year. After all, tourism boomed there afterwards. However, keeping the crater would have been more expensive than just doing the repairs. The museum isn't ready to let people completely forget, though, and now intends to make a major attraction out of a recreated version of the calamity. The museum's plan turns the sinkhole disaster into an amusement park ride called the Thunderdome, according to GM Authority. In a smaller recreation of the Skydome, 15 people at a time would get to watch an imitation of the sinkhole devouring the eight Corvettes. To make the experience even more immersive, visitors would get to view this all from an artificial, underground cave. If you missed seeing the actual pit, this would certainly be a bizarre way to experience it. According to GM Authority, the exhibit would also include an explanation of how sinkholes occur. The Corvette museum reportedly wants the attraction open by this fall.
