1963 CHEVROLET CORVETTE ROADSTER! FULL RESTORATION STARTED IN 2011, FINISHED IN 2013! MIRROR FINISH PAINT, ALL NEW, FRONT TO BACK! BEAUTIFUL & FUN TO DRIVE! FRESHLY BUILT 327 & FOUR SPEED MANUAL TRANSMISSION!
This Corvette under went a very lengthy as well as costly restoration back in 2011 - 2013. The entire car was completely tore down and gone through. The drive train, the suspension, interior, body, paint, chrome, stainless, everything was gone through. The finishing work of the car was clearly done by someone who knows their way around around these C2's. The fit and finish work are absolutely superb. The one area of this Corvette, which I still have a hard time understanding, is the body and paint work. Every C1, C2, & C3 that GM ever produced, came from the factory practically waving at you. Whoever did the body and paint work on this car were beyond meticulous. It truly has a mirror finish to it (please refer to photos and video located below). I've never seen a C2 with as nice of a body and paint. I personally would have been devastated when they handed me the bill. The rear frame rails appear to be completely original and solid. I don't believe they have ever been through any kind of repair work. I believe this Vet has spent the bulk of its life, tucked away indoors.
The motor and transmission were completely gone through. I believe it is a factory 327 with a four speed Muncie. Both of which operate exceptionally well. The motor does not leak, smoke, or burn an excess amount of fluid. It is quite powerful but is not extreme. It still runs on regular premium pump gas. The four speed shifts smoothly through all of its gears with out any hesitation. The dual exhaust setup sound surreal. The video located below, truly does not do this Vet any kind of justice. The steering setup is exceptional. It does not have a lot of play and still feels like it did the day it came off of the factory. It is not a sloppy mess. The brake setup is all new on the Vet and it works very well. It does not squeal, shake, or shimmy when stopping.
The interior of the Corvette has been completely redone. The instrument panel appears to be all new as does the carpet and door panels. The seats I believe were redone in real leather. They also did an excellent job in this regard.

AMC Trans Am Javelin SST, an ultra-rare underdog, is up for auction
Sat, Sep 9 2023Among the rarest of the American muscle cars that went racing in the early Seventies — cars including the Camaro Z/28 and the Boss 302 Mustang — the 1970 AMC Trans Am Javelin SST may be the most hard to find, and among the most valuable. Only 100 units of this unique Javelin were produced, and one of them is up for auction at the Mecum event in Dallas on September 20. The Trans Am Javelin was fashioned in a patriotic livery of tricolor paint — red, white and blue — and arrived after the American Motors Corporation had decided in 1968 to compete in the Trans Am racing series against Ford and General Motors. The company's chief driver, Mark Donohue, would dominate the 1971 season, taking seven wins in his Javelin AMX and that yearÂ’s SCCA Trans-Am Championship. AMC took the trophy with 82 points, well ahead of Ford's 61, Chevrolet's 17 and Pontiac's paltry 7. The example listed for auction came equipped with a 390-cubic-inch V-8 engine with 325 horsepower at 5,000 rpm and 420 pound-feet of torque, power steering and brakes, dual exhaust, BorgWarner four-speed manual transmission and Hurst competition shifter. Its “ram induction system” sealed a chamber around the air filter so that cool air from the functional hood scoop would be funneled into the intake. This JavÂ’s factory price was $3,995 — a mere $32,000 or so in today's money, though it was expensive by the standards of the time. The 100 Trans Ams were among 19,714 Javelin units built in 1970, so they started out rare, and today the surviving examples are highly collectible, if and when they come up for sale. No bid estimate is available yet. Related Video: Motorsports Chevrolet Ford Pontiac Auctions Automotive History Racing Vehicles Classics
GM recalls 8,500 Chevrolet Malibu models for rear suspension glitch
Mon, 04 Feb 2013According to a letter from General Motors to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, flaws in the build process of the 2013 Chevrolet Malibu have led to the recall of 8,519 cars. Units built between December 6, 2011 and January 15, 2013 may have been assembled with rear suspension cradles that had insufficient torque applied to certain bolts. That out-of-spec assembly could lead to issues ranging from slight noises to a loss of vehicle control.
The problem was first noticed in December of last year by a GM test fleet driver and eventually tracked back to the improperly torqued bolts on the suspension cradle assembled through July 2012 by a supplier located not too far from the Malibu's Detroit/Hamtramck Assembly Plant. Since an official NHTSA recall notice has not been issued yet, it isn't clear whether or not Detroit-built Malibus were the only ones affected (the 2013 Malibu is also built at GM's Fairfax Assembly Plant in Kansas City, Kansas). Dealers will fix the problem by inspecting vehicles for proper torque specs, retightening if not within specs and, in some cases, perform a rear-wheel alignment.
