1958 Chevrolet Corvette 4 spd. Convertible w/ removable Hardtop. We found this good clean example of the Iconic American Sports Car stored in a garage for the last decade. We brought it back to the shop, installed a new battery, some fresh gas & with some minor tuning fired the engine up with a throaty roar! After a short test drive we began to appreciate the performance you get when the motors only purpose is to drive the rear wheels & accelerate the car down the road. This is a good clean driver having been owned by the previous owner for the last 25 or so years, driven regularly, garaged & well cared for until it was parked in the garage we found it in about 10 years ago. While this is an original 4 spd.car , the motor has been replaced with a Chevy 350 v8 at some point in its life(non numbers matching) making it a good driver that would be a great cruise night vehicle with a Glossy Black exterior that's starting to show its age with normal chips & scratches you would expect from a vehicle that has been enjoyed. All of the exterior trim is present and in good condition with a set of period correct aftermarket 5 slot Mag Wheels(just like I remember when my big sisters boyfriend showed up in his new Corvette!) The interior is in good shape with all of the trim & dash components present & showing normal wear from the history of 55 years of automotive enjoyment(new carpet & seat covers would take years off her age!). This is a good unmolested version of the 1958 Chevrolet Corvette that's suitable for a Museum quality Restoration project, Advertising & Promotional use or just drive it like it is for a while. This Corvette has been seen on the hit show Fast N Loud and the winning bidder will have the option of taking delivery on the show! Priced to sell. We sell Internationally as well as locally and will end the Auction when it sells. Low feedback bidders (<5)please contact me prior to bidding.See all pics & ask any questions

Should heavy-duty pickup trucks have window stickers with fuel mileage estimates?
Sat, Sep 23 2017If you were to stroll into your nearest Chevrolet, Ford, GMC, Nissan, or Ram dealership, you'd find a bunch of pickup trucks. Most of those would have proper window stickers labeled with things like base prices, options prices, location of manufacture, and, crucially, fuel economy estimates. But you'd also run across a number of heavy-duty trucks with no such fuel mileage data from the Environmental Protection Agency. The EPA doesn't require automakers to publish the valuable miles-per-gallon measurement for vehicles with gross weight ratings that exceed 8,500 pounds. That makes it difficult for consumers to compare behemoths powered by turbocharged diesel engines – between one another, and between smaller, gasoline-fueled trucks. Consumer Reports doesn't think it should be this way, and it's spearheading an effort (PDF link) to get the government to require manufacturers to publish fuel economy estimates. In its own testing, CR found that heavy-duty pickups powered by Ford's Power Stroke, GM's Duramax, and FCA's Cummins diesel engines (which doesn't include the Ram's EcoDiesel) get worse fuel mileage than their lighter-duty gas-powered siblings. We're not so sure HD-truck buyers are unaware of this fact – big diesels don't really come into their own until big loads are placed in their beds or attached to their trailer hitches. Under heavy workloads, the diesel trucks will almost certainly return greater efficiency than a similar gas-powered truck. What's more, HD trucks with lumbering diesels in general make the driver feel more confident while towing due to greater torque at low engine RPM than gas trucks. They also offer greater max-weight limits. Still, we agree EPA fuel mileage estimates should be offered for heavy-duty pickups. And we think the comparisons provided by Consumer Reports might be interesting to potential buyers. Click here to see the results of CR's tests, and let us know what you think using the poll below. Watch this time-lapse build of the Chevy SS for NASCAR
Fri, 08 Feb 2013There's only about a week left until we get our first look at the production version of the 2014 Chevrolet SS sedan, but Chevrolet NASCAR teams have been looking at the race version of the car all winter. Autoweek has posted a really neat time-lapse video showing just a portion of what it takes to build one of NASCAR's new Gen6 stock cars.
Though the video is quite brief, it does show almost the entire build process starting with just the car's nose, and it gives us a good look at how integral the template is to the final product. As a bonus, Hendrick Motorsports also provided some videos showing two of its teams performing pit stop tests over the winter. The second video shows some of the more detailed aspects of the racecar's rear end, including the stock-looking trunk cutout and a newly mandated rear bumper extension that will be used on super speedways like Daytona and Talladega.
To see what Team Chevy has been up to all off-season, check out all three videos posted after the jump.
Helicopter crashes on Top Gear Korea set while chasing Corvette ZR1
Mon, 11 Feb 2013The formula of Top Gear Korea is seemingly about the same as it is everywhere else in the world, including the flagship British original: involve interesting cars in fantastical situations with charismatic hosts. That prescription has proved to be pretty reliable over the years, and has lead to some truly memorable and exciting pieces of television.
Something like that was undoubtedly what the Korean producers were after when they lined up this segment - a drag race between a Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 and an AH1 Cobra military helicopter. The planners almost certainly did not expect the filming of the segment to go quite as wrong as it actually did, with the helicopter actually crashing into the dirt after the "drag race" had been completed. Thankfully, we're told that no one was seriously injured in the crash, but the footage, in the video below, is pretty damn chilling to watch, nevertheless.
